It would be nice if the game could have this stuff adjustable without having to download mods, but I assume it's not an easy thing to spin up. And for a lot of people, even with mods being easy to install for many, some people are not that technically minded. (I find the mod program easy, but I also have been figuring out computers for 40+ years) Of course, even if it was in options, we'd still have people confused. A lot of differences in opinion on what is a cool effect and what is an annoying effect. And tons of overlap. This is with visual and sound. And sometimes it's how much it may repeat. I think one example: Demons. I don't have a huge problem with them, but I can see the problem with their constant noise. The mod for turning them into cat noises is great, but I can't run it because it annoys my wife and my cats.

Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #24: Temporary Powers

I forgot about those. Revive Teammate is a handy one that is my most often used one. -
A collapse in the market also lowers the game playability
lemming replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
I don't market much, usually it's "hmm, none of my alts need this, but I think it sells" I waste a ton of inf and merits doing converter roulette since I don't want to spend less on buy it now prices. 😛 I'm still able to completely outfit my characters with purple, winter, etc... since my 50s tend to just collect influence, recipes, etc... My lower level characters pick up cheap recipes that once crafted make a decent return which more than pays for me buying them all the various prestige travel powers (TT & SG Portal...) I don't tend to outfit them fully until they're 50, but they tend to have servicable IOs once they get to their 30s. On the subject of market prices, it does seem that most things are a bit cheaper than they were, but not sure if it's more supply or less demand. And it's not a heck of a lot of difference that I can tell as a casual marketer. -
It will prevent you knocking back lower level enemies. I'm not sure if the additional chance to KD factors in though

I mean, it's an annoying mission, but it's a kill all, not a hostage rescue. You may be thinking of the rescue Ourobengans from Malta from Tina. Which is an awful mission. Final mission could be instead a fight to stop them from putting together a portal. Maybe something similar to Cathedral of Pain where there's a pillar being protected that you need to clear the defenders, then destroy within a time frame before more defenders pop up. Or: Pillar that is powering up in the center, so you must destroy it before it is fully powered. It's being powered by a stream of natterlings that are going into it (kinda like the Croata mission with the Fir Bog from Skipper LeGrange, but they come thru portals that open up that you can disrupt. So, you'd have players hitting the pillar and others making sure the natterling portals get stopped quickly. Tricky bit will be to balance so that a solo char has a chance if we want to keep this TF as one that can be solo'd without too much trouble like current version.

Yea, the number of times I've hit a geyser and faceplanted into some rock is quite often. When you can work with them, they are a quicker way across, but they are finicky

Judgement, especially Ion. Though if you do Ion, aim for an object near the civilians to avoid panicking them until it's too late.

It would be nice to continue the Scirocco & Ice Mistral arc. Chimera's body is in the First Primal Mr G arc. There's more about Scirocco being discussed in that one, but just conversation from the arachnos you're beating up. The Mr G and Marchand arcs do setup some of the post Praetorian activity. Reminds me to see if there's anything extra if you do Mr G's arc, then the issue six John Huston arc. (Which seems to be made to continue some of the story)

What are you going to pair with Storm Blast when it goes live?
lemming replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
I may try that out. I'm pretty happy with my Rad/Regen Sentinel. -
While I have a decent memory, I rely on https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Dr._Quaterfield_Task_Force for steps. And yea, it gets run during the WST since it's a decent chunk of merits, but rarely on more than a couple characters. And I find it less tedious than comparably longish TFs.
-
To trim the times on Dr Q At the start, have someone already out at Foxtrot to ATT the team out there. Rotate thru TT when needed. Use Ouro and base portals to go back to Paragon for those missions, TT back. Mission TT and ATT for some of the longer distances in the shard. And a few of the missions are kill a boss, or get hostages. Those can be semi-stealthed, except when dealing with the eyeballs. Then it's easier to just blow thru the mobs. Did this recently on a six person group and we still came under 2 hours (which is a more realistic time. 90 min is pushing speed more, I haven't quite got one below 90 min, but 90-120 can be expected if done smoothly) Similar tactics work on the other shard TFs.
-
Yea, I've managed to solo it in that time. And I'm not sure if there's much difference between kill most & speed frankly. The redundant missions could be trimmed. I could go for the shard zones to be shrunk in 1/2 and rather than dump the geysers, I'd just like them to work a little better. They act up if you have any travel bonuses, so I tend to use them more as a jump toward, but then detour near landing often.

Well, if you turn off the repel with the KB->KD, the chance of knockdown seems to hardly fire off. That's the issue. In regular missions, it barely makes any sort of impact. Screwing around in perez park, with the ability to repel, skulls go flying all over the place. Slot the KB->KD, and skulls run right up to you most of the time, realize they're attacking a 50, and run back out. In a group of 12, maybe two woulds fall over doing that run. Just makes it non-worthwhile if you're going to slot for knockdown.
-
So, I have finally gotten around to playing around with my Robots/FF mastermind and I went ahead and reslotted Repulsion Field to have KB->KD. Before doing so, it was knocking stuff all over the place. Now, it's very lazy about knocking stuff down. I'm guessing it just removed the repel so that for the most part, it really doesn't do much. I think I'm spoiled by Bonfire which works on pretty much all of the mobs entering the field while Repulsion seems to just hit one or two mobs every so often. So is it possible to add the Repel chance to the Knockback chance if there is a KB->KD slotted instead of just removing it?

Grew up with a german grandmothr, so I only understand German if it's yelled at me. Which is the usual at least...

Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #24: Temporary Powers
lemming replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in General Discussion
I hoard my temp powers, never using them outside of jetpacks it seems. Normally it's because I forget about them. Though I do tend to use the ones that only last X amount of time just because. Occasionally if I'm in a tough fight, I'll remember to check to see which ones may help. -
Interesting that when I ran this non-ouro, the trip from Striga still dumped me below Port Oakes, but in a falling animation that then deposited me on the docks 151 yds from the Port Oakes mission at [-1852.0 8.0 1112.0] And nice touch being able to revive him with my healing aura. Though there are temp healing powers (such as the dayjob one) that might be feasible. I know my previous character does have that available.

To be fair, you do spend a lot of time in a box
