I *think* what they were looking at is that almost every other power in the set gets slow as a secondary effect. (again, looking at HCWiki.) Could be wrong about the why. A couple are doing def. debuff as well, so it's not all one or the other (ie, if it has one, it can't have the other.) Hmm. That said, maybe it's that pistol's a single, fast, def debuff attack already? *shrug* I'm mostly just mildly curious now.

I would choose... to hang out on discord or somewhere else and RP that way. One character, even one melee/one ranged, would be boring. Even ignoring the RP aspect, it'd be boring. I like swapping roles and such. I'm regularly on my 'shade and a defender over two raids, switching to playing something else for the heck of it... yeah.

Can We Have a Default Zone 1 or 2 Option?
Greycat replied to Zeraphia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Drawbacks, you mean. I'll take my nice, full, fun, non-instanced MSRs with people playing whoever they want at any level on Everlasting any time. -
You can now. You'll just either be exemped down or stuff that shouldn't be a threat to you will be appropriately grey.

It's not part of the power's effect itself, as I recall. (And I can't think of a way to have it work with swap ammo, which is basically just adding on the effect.) The only thing the power itself does is damage and a def. debuff. It is (going through HCWiki, can't head into game right this second) kind of an oddball in the set itself, as several other powers in there do get Slow options. It looks like it and Suppressive Fire are the only ones that don't. Can't say if there's a reason for it.

Can We Have a Default Zone 1 or 2 Option?

However, the instanced (IIRC) doesn't allow all levels to join. -
Kheldians: Why not make Cosmic Balance a Team Buff?
Greycat replied to Bill Z Bubba's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
See edit which I finished less than a minute before this posted, as I was addressing your specific run and misremembering a bit. (So you obviously wouldn't have seen it before replying.) Also, see prior comment to that about my initial reply which you're getting *awfully* defensive about. That said, it *is* still a bunch of "so what' numbers, as far as I'm concerned. *shrug* -
Kheldians: Why not make Cosmic Balance a Team Buff?
Greycat replied to Bill Z Bubba's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Which was unclear, given that also stands for Hamidon origin, and could have meant "We had people running non IO builds." Edit: Disregard the rest, as my brain went from "some" to "all" on the HO build bit. Doing five things at once. -
Kheldians: Why not make Cosmic Balance a Team Buff?
Greycat replied to Bill Z Bubba's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
With his SG. Who's in his sg? Are they at all familiar with Khelds? Do they share his attitude about them, and did that affect their approach? How are they built? Even the "a number of HO builds" doesn't specify "on the khelds," or "across all ATs," or numbers, or much of anything else. There's *so much* that goes 100% unanswered here that they're solidly, as I said, "so what" numbers. He doesn't even say if they were PBs, WS or a mix - the two play *quite* differently. Were they a bunch of people unfamiliar with Warshades and how to leverage them just thinking "run into a team and mire, oh, look, dead?" Did they all just humanform-and-scrapperlock? That'll definitely get them killed. Like I said. "A bunch of so what numbers." Showing a chart of just how many carrots his SG ate in the same runs would be about as useful. What I'm *most* amused by on this is his need to react to what's fairly obviously a tongue-in-cheek reply to begin with. -

... and? I'm seeing a "so what" bunch of numbers. *shrug* As for your other question? It brings another player playing what they want to play and enjoying the game, ideally. That's all that matters. -
RP. Don't sweat the silly numbers. It's not a competition.

Kheldians: Why not make Cosmic Balance a Team Buff?
Greycat replied to Bill Z Bubba's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Teams are already made much, much better by having a Kheld on them. Making the inherent also buff the team would be OP. Besides, we all know people only want VEATs around for double-stacked leadership, not for anything else the character does. -
Eh... Why should the Skulls, Hellions or RIP be a threat to a 50+ Incarnate? Why should there *be* level 50 Skulls? They're meant to be low level and outleveled. The Family showing up later with Resistance weaponry later is goofy enough. Besides, some people outlevel content if they hit what's otherwise a stalling point in an arc for their character. That shouldn't be taken away from them. Now, if you wanted to have an option to auto-exemp down? That's another argument entirely.

There's some PVP, but the zones have (generally) been dead since before sunset on live. In the time I've been here, I've run into people three times in the zones - one left just after I noticed them, one was AFKing by drones (I'm assuming for zone time badges,) and just once we had a nice little group of 3-4 fighting and alting for... 30-40 minutes or so.

I don't think 8-12 honestly particularly matter, and certainly don't need doing on every character. Nope, not even getting to 50. I have characters I tend to keep in certain ranges because that fits where I see them. (I'm ignoring "Peacebringers as base builders because inherent fly" when talking about that.) Personally, the only thing that matters to me is playing the character the way you want, true to that character. Everything else is fluff.

This is the oldest one I know of, I know of one other video... not sure if I remember an older video. http://web.archive.org/web/20120905065800/http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=117073

Improve "received first tip" message
Greycat replied to Tatterhood's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This. Honestly I think I'd want tour guide "tips" in a category of their own, but that'd probably be tempting the code monster too much... -
Super Strength would have a word... (OK, it has hand clap, but ... that's *hand clap.* )
-
Interesting. I don't think I'd seen that bit of evolution (Controller not shown yet, "build up" at tier 9, having between 5-8 powers in a set - though that, I think, was as carryover from the prior setup...) Also... Energy/Super Strength blaster...
-
I know I have some from the PVP betas with COV. Just have to dig them up. Did find one that was some party on live with some of the devs... Nothing distorted, just fun. :)

Have to 100% disagree. The little setup of a showdown, not bad. We'll see where that goes. But that whole look at the Tuskens, that whole bit of backstory, was just freaking *cool.* (Well, maybe not "backstory." Culture, rites?) We've gotten little bits and pieces of this elsewhere, but seeing it all kind of fold into itself and into who he's trying to be now? *Love* this. (Mind you, IRL I love history. In my various sci fi / fantasy worlds, I love backstory and buildup. The Silmarillion's my favourite of Tolkein's middle-earth works. If I could tack another 200 (healthy) years onto my life, and not have to worry about little things like money, you'd find me digging back into cultures and linguistics to see how pieces fit together. WoT? I want to see more than the *end* of the age of legends... I want to see the end of what came before and provided the basis for how *they* grew, and so forth.) Besides,

The problem is when they're the *point* of the mission - such as the "rescue the negotiators" arc from serpent drummer (second arc in his series?) where if they die, you fail. Granted, you have some slight control, as you have to rescue them before they aggro anything, but it's *really* annoying that we have to have workarounds to keep them alive. I try to do those missions solo so they dont' just attach to someone else or get rescued early and go haring off and getting killed in a giant group. It's annoying that "learn to skip groups" and "this is how you lose them in a safe area" are meta-skills to learn in the game to deal with ridiculous AI.

I'd say no, I wouldn't want that. There are a few reasons, some of which are touched on in the thread already, such as "so what do the people who aren't focused on bug fixing do?" There's also a matter of... let's say "feel." If we have a page of bug fixes, there's not going to be a lot of excitement about it - sure, that *that one bug* that was annoying you got fixed, maybe, but there'll also be plenty of others that didn't or couldn't get fixed (and of course new ones added.) And, of course, griping that "they just waited to get them all at once" and the like. Flip side of that is... we get server restarts and patches every Tuesday. Little things get added or fixed (emotes available, bugs fixed) then, and though it's not *big* progress, it gives a feel that yes, our volunteer devs are continually active working on things. (Not saying they're otherwise *not,* to be clear.) So... yeah, no. Patches for ongoing bugs as they can be fixed. Pages for bigger things - "Hey, we fixed a bug" shouldn't be a focus of that, barring "hey, in the process of fixing this bug, we found this cool thing could be done!" And issues for major updates and milestones.
