  1. On any particular AT? What do you mean by "combos"? Within a set or a mixture of sets?
  2. So much this! It is usually the case that comic book characters start out with their full suite of powers, only gaining new ones through some major event. A closer analog would be that your character *DOES* have all their power from level 1, but due to some trauma or perhaps exposure to Primal/Praetorian Earth, must start over from square one to relearn or unlock them. There are many ways to rationalize the need to earn all your powers, but either way, if you're counting gameplay time as real time, then it only takes a few hours to get back to 50...
  3. If the player who summoned Ada did so against what the team leader wanted, why would you think such a person would confess to it when asked? Further, how did the team leader know that the person reported to them actually did the summoning? We can whittle down the evidence for or against one way or the other, but when you come right down to it, the team would have been far better off disbanding and maybe have the AFK person send a tell to the team leader when Ada can be summoned again...
  4. The thing is, summoning Ada does not require team membership - only that you be at the right place within the zone. I don't see how this suggestion would have prevented that at all, but let's say that it was implemented as presented. What next? Do you capture a screenshot of "Person X began summoning Adamastor"? Then what? Do you come to the forums and post it? There's no context showing that person did anything wrong. Now YOU are the one in the wrong, since you can't actually prove that person went against sort of prearranged agreement. Maybe the team leader was in the wrong for agreeing to hold everybody up because one person had to go AFK - especially since Ada can be summoned every hour. I would rather see someone, unfortunately, have to wait till the next Adamastor summoning than someone grab some pic with no context and go around naming-and-shaming others...
  5. It's really not that complex - you need a recipe, and a few pieces of salvage. That salvage comes in 3 rarities, then there's some influence/infamy/information involved.
  6. And then what? Seems you are advocating a "name and shame" type of system. I don't do this, but neither you, nor even an organized group, "own" or have exclusive access to when Adamastor gets summoned and by whom...
  7. Well, what I meant was that being "really really fast" by itself can actually make an impact worse - if you happen to move INTO the attack, you're now taking a hit at projectile velocity X + your velocity Y, or if you're moving sideways and get it, that relatively clean hole from a bullet is dragged to become a gaping wound. I didn't mean it to be taken in combination with the additional chance to dodge.
  8. It's a matter of interpretation - did you take less damage from an attack because you're protected by really thick armor plating, or because you're so agile every attack against you is just a glancing blow?
  9. That is a bold assertion to make. I do not lend much weight to your opinion as to what "should" have been done with the sets, especially since thorny assault was one of the initial dominator secondaries. Present a new secondary that best fits your conception about what a "proper" such set should be...
  10. Caltrops is not about the damage - it's about area denial and the slow - it's a way of controlling the battle field in a "softer" way than a hard control power. If you want to propose a variant of martial assault, by all means, but let's not throw out a power that a lot of people use because it doesn't suit your preferred play style...
  11. I don't think the devs want to go any further with the "either/or" power pick route. I count 4 auto powers in super reflexes, and the 3 dealing with positional defense add the scaling RES based upon lost health. What would be a neat additional effect would be a bit of end returned for every attack dodged, (maybe no more than 1 time every few seconds or something)...
  12. I really just want less ugly T1 zombies. Heck, players have come up with such awesome costumes that they put the MM minions to shame. That being said, I think the mercs, ninja, and thugs MM sets could be broadly applied to many many other concepts - I could see Ninjas being made into your own Super Sentai squad, Thugs could be your own Matrix-inspired team, Mercs could be police or private security, and so on...
  13. Being really fast, but still getting hit, could actually make the attack cause more damage - instead of a bullet hitting you straight-on, it catches you as you're going mach 10 and is dragged sideways, causing a wider wound. What would be more interesting, IMHO, would be some sort of "second chance" mechanic, where an attack hits you, but you kind of get another chance to have the enemy actually only hit an afterimage, or part of you that wasn't quite there. maybe another mechanic could be a momentary "speed phase", where you generate a few stacks of a speed phase buff, and they can "eat" an attack made against you, instead of you actually being hit - similar to the enemy merely striking an afterimage and not the real you.
  14. Welcome home! Now you can be a hero in reality and virtually!
  15. It would be nice if multiple applications of a sleep power could put an enemy into a "deep sleep" that would be harder for them to wake up from, or perhaps add a "grogginess" debuff on enemies waking up from a sleep effect...
  16. What if they are all just really long double-headed tacks, and pushing on one side makes it longer on the opposite?
  17. And healing arrows! And blackjack!
  18. I'm always on the lookout for new sent combos to try - could you elaborate upon this one a bit?
  19. Within the scope of CoH, your rank-and-file military personnel are actually pretty ineffective. Now, depending upon how upstanding you want the U.S. Military to be depicted, you could see them simply trying to recruit heroes and/or dealing with the more legitimate organizations within Paragon, but if you wanted a more "grey" or corrupt take, they could be dealing with Crey or maybe even trying to appropriate hero and villain DNA samples or tech for their own use. Instead, maybe expand the story around the PPD Awakened division, having them do community outreach or trying to reclaim previously destroyed/contested areas. Imagine PPD Awakened in Nova form scouting wrecked buildings for survivors, while ones in Dwarf form clear debris, and human form ones healing the injured, etc...
  20. I'd rather see them add Drudges or Spectral Pirates as separate lore options entirely. Heck, there are a bunch of groups that could stand to have lores made out of them...
  21. Maybe do something like ice armor's energy absorption, only granting absorb per target hit, instead of defense...
  22. Just go in there and do it. If what you're really asking is for a guide on how to create a top-tier effective build, then you're starting point is having a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of all the different ATs, powersets, and IO set bonuses. Almost anyone can slap together a build that will work for most content, but if you're looking to do things like capping defense or resist values, have some powers be permanently on/available, and be able to pull off some extreme feats, then you'll need that innate knowledge first. To use your metaphor - nearly anybody can throw together a shack that'll stand on its own for some time, but whether it'll be draft and leak-free, with safe and functional electrical outlets and lighting, needs expertise. Get that game knowledge down pat, know what works and what doesn't, then putting together a good build should be a piece of cake.
  23. Are you looking for general advice or a specific build? I mean, if you're look for something pretty simple to play and that's quite effective, I really like radiation armor paired with savage melee. There are really only a few things to keep in mind with this combo, as it is quite easy to play: 1. Savage melee provides a special stacking buff called "blood frenzy". This buff stacks up to 5 times, and grants both a recharge time and an endurance cost discount. Some powers use up these stacks for added effects, but you actually DON'T want to do this, so just avoid using any powers that get a red circle around them, until you lose a stack of blood frenzy, then the red circle goes away, and you can use them like normal. Only like 3 powers have this added effect, so it's no big loss to wait a few seconds for 1 stack to go away, or just use another power. 2. Radiation armor has a special click power called "particle shielding". Not only does this provide a layer of extra hitpoints or "absorb", but it also provides a significant recovery buff. It can nearly be made permanent with 3 recharge single-origin or better enhancements, but coupled with the above mentioned bonus from blood frenzy, it definitely can. You'll pretty much never run out of endurance this way, so can keep fighting at full-tilt forever. 3. Radiation armor also has a power called "beta decay". Not only does this lessen an enemy's defense, but it makes it harder for them to hit you, makes them want to keep trying to hit you, and provides an additional recharge reduction buff on top of the aforementioned ones. And keep in mind that these buffs are global, so all your powers will benefit from them! 4. There's a pretty unique power in radiation armor called ground zero. What's cool about this power is that it damages enemies near you, but also heals any friends/allies within its range. Great for aiding your teammates! 5. Finally savage melee's "tier 9" power, "savage leap", allows you to quickly close the distance to an enemy, and deal some AoE damage at the same time. It generates several stacks of blood frenzy as well. Other thoughts on this combo: Radiation armor also has "radiation therapy", which is your typical self heal, but it also generates some endurance for each nearby enemy it hits and deals some damage. I generally use this power for its emergency healing ability, but you can use it for damage or the endurance, but it doesn't excel at either. Like many armor sets, radiation armor has "meltdown", which is its ultimate ability, granting a significant boost to damage, damage resistance, and endurance recovery, but after a couple minutes it "crashes", leaving you in a weakened state. I tend to avoid such powers, but it can be good in a pinch. I'm also not a huge fan of maiming strike or hemorrhage from savage melee, as I find them less useful overall, and would rather put those power picks toward something like boxing and tough from the fighting pool. Hope that's of some help. Best of luck to you!
  24. For copyright reasons, I vote we call this monster "The Chirng".
  25. Obviously the specific values would have to be worked out. Either way, it seems like you'd likely be an outlier, and not a typical case. It'd be like assuming containment shouldn't be implemented because of what a fully IO'd-out controller can do...
