  1. I solo'd for hours last night rotating between several of my various controllers, corruptors, and defenders (+4 ofc because this is CoH). Lumi is just notoriously bad at them, and melodramatic at describing his experience of being bad at them too. No one is being punished. No one. Full stop.
  2. I’d certainly rather have something potent in general, but, yeah, *if* mez mitigation is the way y’all wanna go, I couldn’t see something potent being a good idea.

Purely out of apathy at this point, I will reluctantly put my signature on mez *resistance*, without +special, under the condition that the buff values are no more than 1/2 of those proposed thus far by the guy that is bound to inflate numbers because he can't play Defenders. Sounds kind of worthless still, but if you want to unnecessarily bring mez mitigation into the discussion with Defenders, it'd have to be watered down af. Shrug.
  4. Considering how many people say ridiculous things like "you can soft cap everything in this game so what is the point of [half of the AT's]", it sounds like it might be warranted. Sure, you can debate with them about the added benefits of toggle mez protection, DDR, higher hit points, etc., but defense bonuses definitely broke the collective brains around these parts. I have never had a problem surviving on "squishy" AT's with 20-25% defense so "impact" would be non-existent. Counterargument though: you should probably get something in return for gimping your poor character's damage output with weak sets like Thunderstrike and Artillery. Though maybe that's just the cost of using "yellow" sets. Would need to see numbers on SaintD's proposal. But it's not without precedent. +Damage and +Healing bonuses and so on only go as far as your powers and AT multipliers let them.
  5. Who here hasn’t PvP’d much in 14 years? I can’t identify the culprit from quickly skimming the thread. But I might have missed a tiny sentence tucked away somewhere. Guessing it’s just attitude, which is sad since that attitude, with some help from i13, has yielded the tiniest and most dysfunctional PvP community most here can fathom. Imagine if PvP’ers dropped their attitude about how amazing the current state of their community is and, instead of wrongly assuming everyone else just hasn’t put the time in in the last few years (ignorance or a lie), actually listened to the 99.9% they’ve alienated the hell out of.
  6. Nonsense 🙂 People on this forum make far too big an issue about mez. I can only assume half of the forum literally only log in to solo +4x8 malta missions 24/7, because their described experiences don’t match any other reality I can fathom. A couple break frees an hour usually cuts it for me. Or a very occasional Rune of Protection, or Indomitable Will ofc. But yeah, I have one Poison of 6 with Clarion, and zero characters that would ever rely on amplifier mez protection because it’s just not a huge deal.
  7. I guess that’s a couple votes for “one playstyle or gtfo”. The old mez system let mez AT’s dominate sometimes after a hard-fought minutes-long stalemate. The current mez system just tells them to reroll. Old system had frustrations. Current one is trash they can finish burning to the ground for all I care. Think I’m done here.

  9. I don’t agree that a PBAoE toggle on a character without mez protection is a serious problem (hello Hot Feet, Beta Decay, Time’s Juncture, Venomous Gas, etc etc etc). The radius maybe is though, so, sure, play with that. I always thought it was pretty OP to make damage auras the sustain powers for /Fire and /Elec because it’s obvious to everyone until now that damage auras used to be things that came with serious endurance costs. But Blasters are just OP in general these days. If they want to adopt your way on Death Shroud, I won’t complain. Just don’t think it creates anywhere near the problems of a target click sustain and melee build up power that no other Blaster has to deal with. Don’t know the point of bringing up the fact that Soul Drain is only barely perma. It’s way way more perma than Build Up still. I don’t think it’s OP, but it would be if they made it Targeted AoE or something without changing anything else. I don’t have any problems with Soul Drain’s stats. My only problem with it is that it’s super counterproductive for Blasters that want to play at range to have a melee build up (and Dark/Dark would be one of the combos that is counterproductive since no TAoE so that’s kind of bad). Nearly every other secondary has counterproductive powers for all ranged blasters… but said powers are not their Build Ups.
  10. Sure. Just expressing my opinion. And yeah, if they still can’t get around to many of the most basic problems in the game, my hope that PvP is genuinely fixed is approximately zero.

  14. I think the insane amount of fun behind Wormhole justifies any animation time or quirks 🙂 Tho my squad got mad at me and doesn’t want me Wormholing the ITF tower mobs down at them anymore 😢
  15. Slows and mezzes would need to go back to pre-i13 state at the least. I used to love duels the best, and my favorite characters were Storms and Colds. Disruption and whittle-down-slowly wins were my favorite. The City of Blasters burst-damage-or-just-don’t-play meta is lame as hell. That said I’d rather they not waste their precious time. I loved it as a kid, but even then the community was stupidly toxic and loaded with bully personalities that I very much remembered when I tried to come back to it in HC. Now they’ve made the gameplay suck, it’s just plain dead to me. It’s hypothetically possible they could successfully revive it, but considering how long it’s taking them to get around to slightly tweaking underperforming powersets or minor QoL fixes, I’d rather them not blow a year on what’s been completely destroyed for like ~13 years. If it takes them this long to think about lowering a couple of animation times for Kinetic Melee, do we really want to tell them to go fix PvP?
  16. Although I maintain that endurance problems don’t exist at level 50, I agree with this just because their inherent is completely worthless right now. Unlike the Defender argument, at least it’s a consistent effect, so I could plan around it if it were actually significant.

At this point, I vehemently disagree with listening to the one allegedly-veteran player that clearly can’t play Defenders, so much so that they’ve considered it appropriate to evoke comparisons to real life discrimination and oppression on multiple occasions. Defenders are my favorite AT. I have about 16-18 of them. I couldn’t tell you if this poster’s attitude is ignorance or malice, but it’s not neither. Disagree with me all you like.

  21. Well, considering “tiny baby Enflame tick will out-aggro Brute taunt aura and punchvoke” is at least a little bit counterintuitive, maybe go get some “experience” with Enflame and report back. If the mechanics aren’t even working as intended for you, I don’t see what we could tell you here that will help. I love the new Sorcery pool, especially Spirit Ward and Enflame. Does that help?
  22. Enflame doesn’t scatter things anymore. Its fear was removed. I put it on Kins or whatever all the time.
  23. The Scrapper is going to hold aggro with its AoE’s far more than baby Enflame ticks will draw them to you, and half of the Scrappers have taunt auras. I think you’re still getting the desired effect here?? Also not sure why you think Brutes don’t hold aggro.
  24. It creates a patch which I assume would draw aggro to you like any other patch. But it’s certainly not going to taunt; I can’t think of any experience where it clearly got me killed or anything so I wouldn’t worry much about it.
