  1. That line did not make sense to me either. I thought she was saying, "uhh... he might go evil... I've seen it before."
  2. Welcome home. (It's ok to admit it if you teared up when you logged back in. I know I did.)
  3. Yeah... I get it. The OP is not wrong. But personally, I find it more rude to shutdown a few people having a brief back-and-forth dialogue on LFG then it is to use LFG for a brief back-and-forth dialogue to begin with. I mean, we're all adults here playing a video game and we all share the global channels equally. None of us own them. Myself, I'd rather see more personal interaction in the game then less, no matter what channel it's on.
  4. I think people don't farm DA because it IS post 50. I think most PI teams are pre50 players getting to 50, ASAP. You are right, however that there is an opportunity there that people don't use often.
  5. I try to avoid being that guy who sidekicks up to a +4 TF. It doesn't matter how strong your build is, fighting +5 is slow and extremely ineffective. You WILL be getting carried by your team. Instead, I try to be the guy who makes everything faster. I play almost only pick up TFs, and usually prefer to avoid speed runs, so I see teams like th OP described a lot. However, instead of noticing my teammates' incompetence, I focus on contributing as much as I possibly can. I critique my own play, looking for improvement. I never look for teammate deficencies. If people ask for help or advice, I will give it, but generally I don't go beyond looking to see who's leading the way, and if it is nobody, the I do it.
  6. Well... something that lets me live forever and stay healthy... willpower or regen. And something that I can use to get my boys to clean the basement. I find sonic powers work well for this but I'm open to suggestions. I'm also thinking of a cold epic powerset so I can keep my sodas cold and hibernate at will.
  7. Didn't read all the comments, so I apologize if I am repeating something already said. But the OP's originally question got me thinking. I used to PvP in a few games. In those games I would min-max like crazy and build the absolute best build I could that exploited everything I could find to beat the other players. Then I'd go to the PvP zone and just trash anyone and everyone who I saw. Sometimes I'd team up with like-minded people who and we'd tear other players apart together. It was awesome... that is, it was awesome until I realized it wasn't. I realized the other players weren't having as much fun as I was. Also, I realized they also didn't look up to me and think, "that guy is amazing, someday I want to be awesome like that." Instead they just think, "this is dumb." PvP needs to be both carefully balanced and newbie friendly, but without being random luck based, or too simple. Here's what I mean: 1. Tic Tac Toe is balanced and not fun because it's too simple and depends too much on the luck of who goes first. 2. Rock Paper Scissors appears to be balanced, but it's just unbalanced on equal levels. The outcome is already decided before you start, which is not fun. A lot of the Deck-based mobile games fall into this trap where matches are decided too much by deck choices and good/bad luck with matchmaking instead of by player skill. 3. Coin Flips are balanced and not fun because they rely to much on randomness. 4. Checkers is balanced, but a little too simple. 5. Chess is balanced and richly complex. Newbies can have fun against each other, and so can vets. This is your gold standard, IMHO.
  8. This is very doable. You can have Alfred create a Batcave that Batman visits when he's not using the Justice League headquarters. The only problem is you can't use the storage bins. If you want access to storage, then you need a solo SG that is part of a coalition, or just part of a common chat channel that everyone uses instead of the SG chat. I think both of these options are pretty commonly used.
  9. I'm so proud I found a use for this Victory Rush, I have to share it. Performance shifter won't proc in victory run unless you use it, and let's be honest, that's never going to happen. BUT, you can slot a Synapse's Shock EndMod/Increased Run Speed IO in it, and you'll get the run speed all the time because it's a global bonus.
  10. Most of the time I run 4 attacks in a chain. Usually it's in the format of one of these 3 cycles: A B C D repeat A B C A B D repeat (this is the most common while leveling up) A B A C D repeat (this is my most common endgame setup using 3 damage procs each in the B, C, and D attack) This is usually all single target attacks. I then add in 1 or 2 AoE attacks that I just use situationally... and a nuke if I get one, and of course my Judgement power as well. So to answer your question most of my builds use either 5 or 6 attacks.
  11. After sunset , I really enjoyed DCUO for the first 30 levels. (this was back when it was new... can't speak for it now). At that time the first 30 levels was the first pass through all the game's content and you had a clear path to gaining power. The weapons all felt really balanced, and the movement powers were all really well done. It felt like a solo game, but you could team up if you wanted. After level 30, it began repeating content and your progression method changes completely. The game became more raid based, and further progression options were not balanced at all (maybe different now), so it seemed to me like you were pushed into a few 2-3 high performing builds and gameplay became stale. I ended up taking a brake from serious gaming for 3-4 years and only got back into it when my kids got a little older. I played Champions Online for about 2 years starting around 2017. Compared to CoH, it actually has some things they do better. Costumes are much better. The build system feels like you have more freedom because you can literally choose from any power pool as you level up. However, there's only 8-10 power pools, so despite having more build freedom, you have a lot fewer choices then in CoH. But the biggest drawback to CO is that the world is tiny. There's something like 6 standard zones. There's 3 end game fights, one endgame dungeon, and one endgame zone that has another endgame fight that's beyond the ability of most "pick-up groups." It also has a very small player base, so you end up recognizing almost everyone you see after a while, which has it's positives and negatives. I was enjoying CO, but once I found Homecoming, I never went back.
  12. There's no definitive answer because there's a lot of other variables. For example, recharge time on buildup, Gaussian's proc use on each works differently in each, and you might be slotting that in aim instead. With build-up you get to be more selective on exactly which powers the bonus is applied to. On one hand, Build-up uses activation time, so that can hurt a sustained attack chain. On the other hand, having buildup w/gaussian's every time you hit your nuke is pretty great. I think it comes down to personal preference. I suspect the auto buff powers would win in a Pylon test because that is testing sustained non-stop damage. But I doubt the difference would be much.
  13. I think they're about right in difficulty for the reward. Which is to say, they're both too easy, and not worth the trouble of fighting unless. I think they should buff them and then increase the reward accordingly.
  14. I went into this with low expectations but came out feeling satisfied. I'm not a fan of any kind of multiverse in general because it feels like cheating with story telling. Similar to time travel, you can undo or redo anything you want, which essentially lowers the stakes of everything that happens or has happened. In that respect, I felt like they did ok with Doctor Strange. They only went to a few Universes, and never really used them in a way that unraveled previous plots. Instead, they used it to give our universe's characters insight about their own feelings and/or their own "madness." My big takeaway from the movie though was that it was visually stunning. I was also stuck by the fact that Doctor Strange's defining quality is that he really is more willing to go further then anybody else is willing to go and then accept the consequences. A trait he's had since before he lost use of his hands, actually. It's what made him into a wizard to begin with. It's why he used the eye/time stone on multiple occasions. It's why he was able to beat Thanos by first giving him the stone and losing to Thanos. You also see this character trait it in the What If...? series when he loses his "heart" instead of his hands. And finally the last act of desperation he employs in this movie was absolutely stupefying. I know nothing about the comics, so I wasn't bothered by any departure from them. I was pleased to see a young Spanish speaking girl as an up-and-coming hero. I presume she'll get her story filled in with a future stand alone movie.
  15. In my wife's defense, when she accuses me of choosing to play a game rather then spend time with her, I can't honestly say that she's wrong in all cases.
  16. Haha... Suckers... I've been listing mine at 1,524,824,045
  17. I'm 100% behind the use of Discord to talk to team members. I'm a member of 2 discord channels that get used quite a bit in game, though I don't use it much myself. However, my personal situation is this. I'll listen on discord, and respond to discord talk in team chat. But I don't talk on discord. The reason is my wife. She already has negative feelings about me playing games with other people on the internet. (Not nearly as much as when we were first married, but it's still there). If she started hearing me talking to you all instead of talking to her, or my kids, that would cause a problem in my home life I'd rather avoid. That said, I do think gaming is enhanced by voice chat, and I would do it a lot if my personal situation were different.
  18. The irony of this post considering your profile thumbnail. Neat stuff though.
  19. I swap it in and out with rock shards depending if I'm doing ST or AoE damage. I actually also switch the order between upthrust and tombstone so I can juggle AoE knockdowns with upthrust and rockshards.
  20. Here's the trick. You jump and then click the buildup. Because you're not on the ground it won't consume seismic shockwave but you still get the buildup. Then you can burn SS on one of your other finishers. You don't get the cooldown reduction, but you do get the buff on your nuke and can still use SS with another power. You have to wait just a beat after leaving the ground before clicking because it takes a moment for seismic shockwave to drop off. But this works well.
  21. I've done a lot of playing with this set before I could find the details online... then I found the details and confirmed my testing. The above sounds correct, but with 1 minor exception. The -1 sec occurs sometime in the middle of an activation (or maybe it's a server/client lag thing), so if that last -1 sec is what takes a power off cooldown, you can't always have it queued and fire immediately without a gap in your chain. It's best to use -3s instead of -4s in your maths. That 4th second occurs, but it's a timing thing. For example, In theory I have enough recharge to use the following chain of: Shatter> Tombstone > Shatter> Upthrust > Rock Shards > repeat. But In practice I use Encase instead of Shatter because that 2nd Shatter isn't actually off cooldown at the end of the Tombstone . It does get the -1 second from using Tombstone , but not in time to be triggered immediately following Tombstone with no gap.
  22. Fire blast is hot stuff. Seismic Blast is pretty solid. Energy Melee is really powerful. Martial Arts kicks A**. Street Fighting can take care of itself just fine. Shield can withstand a charge. Claws and Dual Blades make the cut.
  23. SR only has 3 toggles and one of those isn't until 35. That shouldn't be a endurance problem any more than any other set. It doesn't get any endurance help, but you can certainly run it successfully. I could see other complaints about /SR such as not having any heal or regen, or not having its full protection until level 35. I might even say that in the endgame it has overkill on defense, and not enough of the other layers of absolute survivability. But endurance has never been a special concern on any of my /SR toons.
  24. I have overwhelming force slotted in meteor on my blaster. It turns the power into a nice clean knockdown 100% of the time.... And note that without this IO it scatters spawns a comically ridiculous distance in all directions.
