  1. They went out and got a bunch of famous names, but nearly everyone they has is a stiff/brooding/dull screen presence who is usually just there for more interesting characters to fall in love with. Was it a director decision for them to act that way because they were non-human? Because if it was, it made for a terrible movie. Kit Harington (playing a human) was the only character with any personality. I thought he really stood out a lot in this movie. I'm interested in seeing what they do with him next.
  2. I have no tech knowledge on the subject. But, I did the upgrade to 11 with no issues.
  3. It's one of those powers I take at level 49 if I've got no slots and nothing else I want. Most endgame teams I see have sizable stacks of all 3 leadership toggles, so I think this is a common approach.
  4. One tip for first time runners. In all my times running these not once have I seen either of them run as a "kill most." They're always run as objectives only... (i.e. speed run). But don't let this bother you. It makes running them around 15-25 minutes each. This is about right in this game, IMHO. Plus, the objects are clearly identified for you and you can just follow a teammate who appears to know where to go. They mainly consist of AV fights where you can (and do) skip any enemies between the AVs, and even grouped with the AVs.
  5. In this game, you can build for: 1. Survival 2. Damage 3. Control 4. Debuffs 5. Buffs & Heals Generally speaking to complete tasks in this game, you only need to pick any 2 of these. Which means there's almost always something extraneous on every team. This is especially true for the endgame. Many people focus on building a strategic amount of #1, and then focus on #2 or #4 because those two can speed up mission completion regardless of who else is on the team. There's ATs and sets in this game that can do wonderful amounts of #3 and #5. I don't want to tell people it's wrong to play those toons. However, if I were to play one, I'd freeze my xp somewhere around level 25-35 and just use that toon to enjoy that part of the game.
  6. I think Snarky is using hyperbole to express his frustration at how annoying it is to get the badges from MSR. I mean, complaining about having to wait out a 30 minute timer for badge progress? Clearly he's never had connection issues cause him to miss getting off the boat that goes between Freeport and Butcherblock Mountains.
  7. I like StJ/shield because with a shield on your arm, some of those attacks look like you're using the shield as part of the attack.
  8. It's all in the delivery, really. You don't walk up to someone and say, "when you wear that shirt tucked in, it makes you look fat." However, you might say something like, "that's a cool shirt! I usually wear mine untucked because my girlfriend says it makes me look thinner." Or to put it in game context... you could say, "That's a cool costume and concept, but my girlfriend says defenders suck."
  9. Observing the behavior of my kids, I think the most successful marketing a game can do these days is to work directly with the community of content creators and live streamers to help them build and distribute their content out and build followers. There's a ton of discussion and exchange of information that could occur on this topic. This leads me to my simple suggestion that a COH Forum be created that is dedicated to this topic where people can both post links to content, and work together to coordinate events and ideas. I'm not a content creator myself, but I'd check a board like this frequently to see what's being done.
  10. Caltrops biggest benefit is as a soft control power. It makes enemies run around to try to get out of the caltrops, and the caltrops slow them so this movement takes quite a bit of time. During this time, they're not really attacking much, and assuming they're not standing in melee range, they're not using their big melee attacks. This is a really useful thing because it layers it's mitigation above your normal defense/resists mitigation. It also benefits the entire team. I generally slot it as a set mule for +range defense.
  11. Tohit and accuracy buffs are useful until you're at 95% chance to hit your target, then they're 100% wasted. It's pretty easy to get to 95% tohit chance on +0 AV, so definitely skip FA if that's your only goal. If you're fighting +4, it's going to depend on the rest of your build. I would try to build without FA since it uses a lot of endurance, and if you can't manage to get to 95% tohit vs level 54s, then take it.
  12. Shred's simplified proc math: cast time + recharge = 16 seconds = normal procs at 90% 12 seconds = purples procs at 90% Notes: 1. AoE proc chance is "something less." Wide cones have a lower proc chance then narrow ones. 2. Global recharge doesn't affect proc chance, so don't count that. 3. Don't slot recharge in your alpha incarnate slot. Slot maximum +Damage.
  13. Tank is good as other have said. Here's another interesting option. Traps! Your biggest contributing factor is your force field generator. It just follows you around. So just standing around near the people who are taking damage is pretty much your primary job, you only have to recast it every few minutes when it dies. Other than that, you're free to blast away with whatever attack set you choose (I like dual pistols for style points). I also throw down caltrops frequently as well for more AoE damage and ghetto mitigation.
  14. My eyes might be bugging out, but I didn't see Luck of the Gambler +recharge (x5) from the defense set listed yet.
  15. Shred's simple solution: Give one of the auto powers a +100% base max HP fully enhancable. (and remove HP caps). Since regeneration works by healing a % of max HP every tick, all regen powers, and self heals will be effectively boosted. Additionally, the number of hits you can take before dying from Max HP will be on par with the resists sets, but without losing the unique mechanism that is regen. Also, make it so defense debuffs don't stack with themselves. Until that's addressed, cascading defense debuffs throw all balance issues off by way too much.
  16. No screenshots from me. Just an observation that, despite the lack of war walls, nobody seems to find the Rogue Isles appealing.
  17. As someone who plays Stalkers 90% of the time, I support this message.
  18. Netflix. Mostly for the shows (If you haven't seen Arcane... Seriously, get up now. Go watch it. You can thank me later, Cupcake.) Occasionally a documentary or a stand up comedy special. For movies I usually head over to HBO Max.
  19. Quite a few of my toons realized they're in a computer simulation a while ago. Although they don't know they're being controlled by a balding* middle-aged man with no socks. * I can't really claim to be balding anymore... just bald.
  20. Traps/Katana Poison/Staff (I'd prefer shirkens to poison, but poison is the closest thing we have to what I'm looking for) Storm/Martial Arts Force Field/Energy Melee (there's a trend here if you haven't noticed)
  21. Too many friends, eh? Have you tried talking about how speed runners ruin the game, or how the game is too easy and needs more difficulty settings? If that doesn't work, maybe mention all your favorite nerfs of the past.
  22. Don't tell anyone, but there's a secret trick you can do to make sure this happens on every team that you are on.
  23. I made my run over 2 days, so I don't have an accurate time, but I think it took me about 4 hours of play time. But it was also my first time running the TF and had actively avoided spoilers so I knew absolutely nothing at all going in.
  24. I solo'd on Villainous with my EM/EA stalker. I also got stuck on Rodney/Zoe. But just like others mentioned, I went back and killed Zoe first. I don't know the exact mechanics and powers they used, but that made the difference.
  25. There's a recent thread about this issue. It absolutely happens that maxed out toons exemplar down to lower level content and risk making other people feel like they're just "leeching" and not contributing. I think the best way to get to the content you missed on your 50 is to run Ouroboros missions, which means you're forming the teams yourself, and that the people join you know what they're getting into. Another other good way to access the missed content is to just make a new toon. I know a good portion of the player base are be happy to have a high level come join their task force and make it go smoother and faster. After all, door sitting on farms is a big thing in this game. But there are also a large group of players who feel strongly against playing on on teams like this. I think the fact that you're thinking about it, is a place for you to be.
