  1. OMG! that thing is the worst thing ever! Why are you wasting resources on that thing? You should be working on the other thing. The other thing would be so sweet! I can't wait for the other thing. You all are the worst dev's ever for giving us that thing instead of the other thing. I'd even prefer these things over that thing. At least these things are useful to me. That thing is just for people who don't know how to use these things right and need to learn to play. #SayNoToThatThingAndGiveUsTheOtherThingNow
  2. Wait... we're supposed to tip those guys? I thought they gave us tips.
  3. 10 stars for this one. In this game, we already know we're going to win every fight. It's team banter makes for a good time.
  4. No build to post, but boy do I know the feeling. Just this morning I updated my seismic/martial blaster build to give it significant status effect protection improvement at the cost of a little bit of run speed. Test drove it against 4x8 carnies who had been kicking my butt with stacked holds. The results were surprisingly positive. I honestly thought this build was finished, but once again I surprised myself with an entirely new approach that worked remarkably well with no real downside.
  5. Someone already beat me to the /martial blaster suggestion. I'm going to be more specific and add water/martial or seismic/martial. These are the newest of the blast sets, and they were really built with some interesting strategic synergies. Seismic has quick animating attacks and lots of reliable AoE knockdown. It also has a mechanic that used properly can really boost damage output. Water adds slows which stack with reaction time's slows and a self heal to the mix. And I like martial's build-up replacement (reach for the limit) as an auto power that doesn't use endurance or take any animation time. Shield/MA tank is a really all around great toon. The satisfying crunch of build-up shield charge and fast, flashy animations. It's a ton of fun with no real downside. It's probably the one character that's given me the most traditional comic book superhero feeling. You literally look for the biggest pile of badguys to leap into, then stand there and fight hand-to-hand (or foot-to-head) until you're the last one standing.
  6. Banks don't make money on the walking lobby traffic anyway, so why not locate somewhere with low upkeep charges?
  7. I think the OP is talking about the enhancement storage in bases... ? I agree it's annoying. In my experience, SGs try to sort the enhancements by putting lower leveled ones together in one bin. I know that's what I do in my personal SG. Personally, I only store (and only use) level 25 IO enhancements, level 50 enhancements, and attuned enhancements, thus reducing the number of confusion by having so many levels to worry about.
  8. Obviously this problem can be solved by simply raising the damage cap. All in favor?
  9. I think It'd be interesting if for every 150 badges you collect, you get a permanent 2% global damage boost and 1% global resist buff. Max would be about 20% damage and 10% resists. Maybe the last one adds a small team buff just for the cherry on top. Nice enough that a lot of us would be pursuing content we normally skip for a month or 2 after hitting level 50, but not game breaking in power.
  10. We collect badges for killing 100s of specific enemies and you're upset over 1? Pot meet kettle.
  11. Unless I'm intentionally running a specific content arc solo, I find I usually out level a contact before the arc is over. What I usually end up doing instead is solo tip missions in between task forces with an occasional radio team thrown in. (I also do a lot of street sweeping, but that was mentioned in the OP).
  12. Not a character from Starcraft, but I generally employ zerg strategy to everything in this game.
  13. My gaming get interrupted by RL agro often unfortunately, but if I'm mid-mission I always give a quick comment like "rl agro, sorry, good luck" before dropping. I also am careful not to join TF's unless I'm very confident that I won't get interrupted. It's usually my wife or my boys needing something, although my boys respect the concept of "wait until Daddy finishes this mission" a lot more then my wife does. Although my wife is much more accepting of my hobbies then she was 10 years ago, too. This is actually one of the big reasons I play CoH. It's easily to put in a 15-30 minute play session. Back in the early years when I was debating between WoW and CoH. I truly felt that WoW was the superior game at the time, but I settled on CoH because I just couldn't commit to to the playtime required to do WoW properly.
  14. I've never liked cities.... after spending the last few years barely leaving my neighborhood, I've discovered my discomfort has grown into something tangibly more significant. I might be ok with something on the edges of Talos or PI where I can look out the window at open sky and water and pretend there isn't a city behind me. Striga Isle is probably the best option, except for the obvious issues with the locals.
  15. My first thought was Mastermind, because I don't know that they benefit as much from enhancements (maybe?). Since no build is going to be particularly strong, I think its really easy to point out flaws with any choice, so this is hard. Maybe a brute so you at least get some damage going. I have some experience with katana/willpower brute as being very solid at low levels before using enhancements due to having endurance boosts, divine avalanche to boost defense, and fury filled attacks.
  16. My thoughts immediately went to Jupiter Ascending's rocket boots. It's not worth watching the rest of that movie to see, but skating through fight scenes with rocket boots, a blaster, and an energy shield is a good look.
  17. 5. Before IOs, there wasn't anything to spend money on so there wasn't any market for gold sellers. 6. After IOs, there wasn't much market because players who cared about being powerful and having the greatest stuff also know how to make money. But this was the point in history where we had a few gold sellers. 7. After AE, making money and leveling up because mega-super-sonic-stupid-easy... it took several nerfs and iterations before it got to to the stupid-easy level we have now.
  18. OK, I'm on board with this. In a case where I'm slotting a global and then just using additional enhancements from that set to enhance the power and coincidentally get some bonuses, I may slot that global first. LotGs get slotted this way. So does Performance Shifter and in some rare occasions I've done this with the Health Globals. But damage procs MUST be last. Even if there's a set partner somewhere in my frankenslotting, the procs go last.
  19. As other's have said, functionally, level is no different for the proc itself. However, personally, since I almost always use attuned IOs unless there's a specific reason not to, I also use attuned procs because if I had a mix of hexagon shaped IOs with round shaped IOs in a single power it would activate my OCD queasy-shivers. Also, OBVIOUSLY the proc has to be put in the last slot. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS. No other IO's after the Procs!
  20. Sea Witch (level 20ish red side) was a big jump in difficulty with my level 20 level locked brute project. It wasn't anything I couldn't solve with purple inspirations, but I was trying to avoid using a specific inspiration set (and succeeding) until I ran into this big roadblock. I think more than anything it was disheartening that I wasn't even coming close... She just crushed me.
  21. I don't know about the code, but I read that Meteor uses some kind of new Knockback vector code. I assume this is related to that. I can speak from experience that out of the box, it's downright comical.
  22. it think it really depends. I mean, for example if you have a defender, then you probably need 2 more defenders to keep the first one from dying all the time. There's a few situations where it's just annoying if everyone is melee and nobody is ranged... but any group of 8 warm bodies with full builds should be fine. Actually 4 warm bodies is probably enough, the other 4 can be look warm.
  23. I'd like an opaque tank option as well. Color selectable.
  24. In case you dont' speak Liminaraian... the answer to your question is, yes, it affects every power.
  25. That's a really good point. I mean, if I did use social media, I'm not sure I would want to tell the world I play CoH.
