  1. That's ok. This isn't one of those things where "a win is win." In this, size (of victory) matters. (seriously, though, when I saw rebirth was keeping pace with homecoming, I briefly thought, "hrmm.. I should probably check them out.")
  2. The goal here is to maximize fun. And the best way to maximize fun is to do absolutely everything you can to make sure everyone else is also having fun.
  3. Maybe instead of changing a server, we give players an option during character creation that turns off access to certain things and then changes their name color to show they're playing on hard mode. We would need to decide what those things should be... P2W seems obvious. AE xp maybe? Null the Gull probably? Receiving gifts in email certainly. Possibly trading.... access to supergroup storage if it wasn't placed their by the same character?
  4. I miss the fact that turning off XP doubled the influence. I understand that was being exploited, but sometimes I play toons where I'm level 12 or 13 and I'm wanting to lock out my XP and gain influence the old fashioned way to pay for those upgraded SOs (without just getting the money off an alt). I can still turn off XP, but I might as well keep earning XP, since there's no boost to income.
  5. Obviously those measurements must be just the boneless meat cuts after processing, because that's clearly not enough room for full bodies. I mean... not speaking from experience or anything.
  6. The concept of a hero needing some writers to punch up his story is good. Too bad they didn't hire some writers to punch up the story of that story.
  7. I thought the OP was being sarcastic. Is the OP being sarcastic? I can't tell, now. I hope so. I don't feel like ranting about how participation trophies and Minecraft creative mode has turned our society into a bunch of spoon-fed pansies who think work means sitting in a beanbag chair sipping a mocha latte with their name fashionably misspelled on the cup. You know what though. At least you're doing missions and not begging for an AE PL. So here's a tip. Load up on purple inspirations when you're at the hospital. And take air superiority with 2 recharge SOs. That should get you through pretty much anything solo at +1x0.
  8. Some of the colors are really hard to distinguish the difference on, too.
  9. I've done some min/maxing of level 20 and 25 builds where I turn of XP and just hold that toon at level to enjoy the mid-level game as intended. I find I almost always end up on Brute so I can still do good damage despite not having fully slotted attacks. I also like having +defense from my primary. My MA/Shield brute at level 25 is probably the most solid toon I've built with near cap melee defense, and high 30s in ranged and AoE, plus using Air Superiority and cobra strike for controls. I've not taken him to Croatoa because, quite frankly, I forgot it was there. Good idea though, I'll put it at the top of my to do list.
  10. I disagree... they're not absolutely professionals... they're absolutely volunteers. I point this out because it's more impressive and in many ways better this way.
  11. Easy win... add staff animations options to all the non-weapon blast sets. (note: don't forget to also give the option to place that staff on your back when not in use, because that'd just be pure awesomeness.)
  12. I max out damage, then use what I have left over to stack on and layer defense. If I can't get my defense up to a minimum level, I keep working or give up and make something else. When playing, I start by pushing as hard as I can to do as much damage as I can to as many enemies as possible. If I find myself dying, I consider dialing it back... maybe... sometimes.
  13. 20 pages in... no clue if this has been said, probably has, but I'll chime in... Nerfing farming, doesn't nerf farming. Farming is repeating the most rewarding behavior over and over to maximize rewards. No matter what you change in the game, some players will still do that. You can nerf things that change what the "most rewarding behavior" is by making it slower or reducing the reward. But there will always be a new "most rewarding behavior." And furthermore, if a developer wants to know what powers and activities are unbalanced or broken, looking at the behavior that people are repeating for maximum rewards is a good place to start. Hardcore min/max farmers should expect to have to alter their behavior occasionally, especially if you're good at it.
  14. Well, nobody has said Sentinel yet. Try that! (no, really.. I've not made one, but on paper, they look good).
  15. I just want to add another comment here. Lately I've been playing a lot of mid-level toons with XP turned off so I can more easily play non-level 50 content. Among this content is the lower level tip missions. This content is pretty good, and nobody ever sees it. It's worth checking out. In fact, perhaps they should look at making these missions available at 50 through Ouroboros or some other system.
  16. I go Vigilante by default so I can side switch and if you're a rogue, when you run Market Crash you'll count as a red-sider and the all-blueside team can't TT. That said, I think the villain tip missions are the most interesting with a better mix of enemies. I liked the implementation of the morality system as it was implemented. However, I get that null the gull is needed in today's game. Without it, red side content would almost never get run by teams... similar to gold side content now.
  17. Personally I think Brutes probably need at least another 50% damage from fury, maybe another 100%, but that's always been the case, not just now. Although, I wish fury would fade faster so you have to really work and/or put yourself at risk for that bigger damage bonus.
  18. Sometimes I read the arcs and get fully invested. But if I'm honest, most of the time I'm just wandering through missions watching my toon kick ass, and enjoying the show.
  19. Whenever I go to the comments section on any YouTube news broadcast, I ask myself, does this comment sound like something an actual thinking breathing human being believes? Or is this what a rival government wants me to think people believe. The practice of stopping to truly ask myself this question has altered my view of many things.
  20. Yeah... I thought there was something on my end, too. I'm actually happy to know it's not that.
  21. Just a theory, but maybe they intended to join the BAF and ended up on the MoM, and had to blame someone else.
  22. This is very true. While I see no value in having multiple servers, also see no value in shutting down a server that's already up. I think there's no question crowded servers are more fun. It's not like you can't just pop into a solo mission and turn off chats to play in solitude. But you can't always find a team when you want one on an empty server. And since we have the ability to move servers, we can always get our preferred toons to our preferred servers without having to remake them.
  23. I'll say it. I have no idea why they made more then 1 server. I'm sure there are lots of "reasons" but none that aren't be easily overcome.
  24. I think of Praetoria as basically CoH 2. It's an upgraded version of the original game after the Dev's learned from all their mistakes is CoH and CoV. It's really better in basically every way except player population. Although in correcting their original mistakes, they did make a few new ones. My biggest gripe is that the stories, while really well done, also smell too much of "Godmodding." I love the fact that they wrote very morally ambiguous stories. I also hate the fact that in doing so they force the player to be ignorantly fooled into helping contacts who are obviously lying to carry out their schemes. It doesn't matter that I can tell the contact is lying. I can see that they're going end up evil or doing harm, but I still have to help them with their plot to open up the next story arc. While these complex plots make for a few good stories, I'm not convinced they make for good roleplay.
  25. I've often wanted to make a Beast Mastermind. But I honestly can't get past the fact that they summon wolves, and lions, and then another wolf. I'd much much rather have all wolves. How difficult would it be to create a mod to replace the lions with more wolves? I don't need any special new wolf, just more of what we have is fine. I've asked for this in the suggestions, but no luck so far, so now I'm asking here.
