I've waited long enough... the tails in this game are just too skinny. Give us fatter versions of these tails (or a slider). In particular I want a cat tail that's about 3x thicker than the ones we have now. Most of my Monkeys are pretty swole, and that skinny tail doesn't really match the rest of their body.

To be honest, to my mind, charging someone to door sit makes exactly as much sense as door sitting does.

Best AT/sets for Hamidon Mending Mito team?
Shred Monkey replied to SuperPlyx's topic in General Discussion
I'm not a big Hami runner, but I do know an Ice/elec blaster can put out a ton of holds without any drop in ST damage. -
Don't forget... you're a brute... Brutes are exceptionally strong at the early game because they get full fury's worth of damage from level 1, whereas other ATs take time to be able to fully slot and build out their damage.

Don't those book missions in the Night Ward Mansion repeat forever?
-
You could also do a dark/dark build and make your toon some vampiry evil shadowy embodiment of darkness. In a different game I once used the name Darkidy Dark Shadowpants using this concept.

I think Energy Blasters fit what you're looking for. They're sterotyped as being unfriendly to teams. Even the game gives these powers to Fusionette to go along with her annoying personality.

Well the obvious one that comes to mind is the top of atlas statue... or is there some trick I don't know.

I don't think you're missing anything. The recharge shown in the enhancement management screen doesn't account for anything except the enhancements. It's the same for the pop-up when you hover over the power and for when you click show details. For example, I just checked on one of my toons with perma-hasten and it says hasten recharges in 3m49s. But it actually recharges in just under 2 minutes.

So this is the latest evolution of my personal base. It has all teleporters, A trainer, a vendor, a costumer, worktable, merit vendor, 14 enhancement tables, and not pictured (but still in the 2x1 space are the medi-porter and the pillar of fire & ice. In particular I like that when I zone in, I'm facing this direction and can click on the vendor without moving for a quick sell and out. I use a cheat sheet next to my computer to keep track of what enhancement table is supposed to be used for (and I'm not very good at keeping them sorted anyway). But the idea is to fit everything into a tight space while being highly functional. And I love it.

Farming Incarnate Salvage - 1 salvage roll every 15 minutes!

Since empyrean merits can be converted to reward merits, repeating this arc is also the fastest way I've found to earn reward merits solo. -
Making the change from SO’s to IO’s after update?
Shred Monkey replied to Jacktar's topic in General Discussion
Prior to I27 my strategy has always been to switch to level 25 generic IOs at level 22. Furthermore, when I'm not slotting a set IO, I only use only level 25 generic IOs until I'm level 50. This way I can stockpile a bunch of level 25 IOs in my base for future alts instead of worrying about having some 30s and some 35s, etc. What changed with I27 for me is what I did change is my pre-level 22 play. Previously, I would use just the prestige Dam/Recharge+proc IOs to maintain an attack chain and just not slot anything until level 22, with the exception of sometimes adding some ATO procs, or other uniques that I'm going to be using forever with that toon. I would just grit my teeth and bare though it running DFBs and Posi's until I hit 22 to make it go as quickly as possible. Honestly, I began to hate that last 20-22 push, but it seemed wasteful to me to spend a bunch of influence level 28 SO's that I'm going to replace within a few hours of playtime. Now with I27, I keep my powers slotted with SO's from level 1 though to 22 and I even upgrade every time I level so they stay green and working as good as possible. I'm very pleased with the result. It was a good change. I could see pushing though with SO's past level 22. Depending on the cost of the equivalent IO, it may be cheaper. However, since I keep my level 25 IOs and pass them down from toon to toon, the cost of the IOs for me is essentially free. Thus, spec'ing into them at 22 just makes sense. -
I looked hard at ice/martial before building my water/martial. I chose water because it actually does more "slowing" attacks then ice which I wanted to stack with Reaction Time's PBAoE effect. Plus water has a self heal. I really enjoyed leveling up the water/martial blaster. Along with the slows, it also has a lot of synergies from so many knock downs and knockbacks. It was a surprisingly strong toon for soloing because I things just weren't hitting me through all the soft controls. Ice does have superior damage and good hard controls, so it's a good pair with anything.

If you want ultimate damage output with AoE and ST, then blappers are your quite simply the best option. By far the biggest fear is defense debuffs. But If you have a way to counter that, like perhaps a few teammates, then it's just full destruction on everything you see. I have other toons for soloing stuff or just toying with builds, but I would say 99% of my teaming in this game is with a blapper.

It is the game I always wish I was playing whenever I play something else.

Ironic that so many people took the time to tell you why you're wrong and defend the changes considering you also like the changes. Welcome to the interwebs

Yeah... I've got a scrapper I shelved to remake as a tank and just this weekend I shelved a Brute to remake as a tank. Early to mid game Brutes are very strong due to the way fury works... but with endgame builds, tanks can really close that gap in damage output (outside of a farm). Basically, in homecoming I find myself playing Blasters and Tanks. And basically the difference between those is "do I want to be immune to all incoming damage, or just 95% of it?"
-
I'm not sure who's telling you these things. It's not like people won't team with you because you're a tank. You might not get to stand in front of everyone and take all the damage while they hide behind you. But that's not the same thing as them not wanting you there because you're a tank. The only people I don't want on my team are the ones who act like jerks and tell everyone what their role is or tell people they should play something else because they're not contributing enough.

This is just something I've been doing lately that's given me some re-newed enjoyment of this game so I thought I'd share it with the community. I'm building toons up without using any influence or help from my alts (I also never use AE farms). All the items I'm using on my alt are earned by that alt in game, or purchased using influence that alt earned on the AH. I'm also not doing any pure flipping strategies at the AH as these could make it too easy to earn influence as well. By not using 2XP boosts and focus on earning merits (which I use to buy items that sell well on the AH), I'm able to keep my build up to my normal high standards, but just barely. I'm not suggesting they change the game to force you to play this way. Just putting it out there as a suggestion it to some of you vets who might be looking to relive the old challenge of this game. I'm also doing this mostly solo, so I can take the time to read the missions and backstories. It's been fun. I might start doing this with all my new toons.

Conversely, there's also no reason NOT to choose the time and defeat challenges. You don't get kicked from the TF if you fail a challenge. You just get a big red "Challenge Failed" message on your screen.

I haven't attempted to build a Scrapper to solo GM's on Homecoming. But as a reference point, I have solo'd Boomtown Babbage with a StJ/Bio stalker and it was surprisingly easy. I'm pretty sure a scrapper version could achieve the DPS to do it also.

I slot for ranged defense while leveling up, and I run around like a, well, a monkey to stay out of melee. Defense also helps against control powers because they can't immoblize you if they can't hit you. Some common build tricks... get Tough from the fighting pool so you can slot the +3 defense IO uniques. Thunderstrike 6-slotted in your ranged attacks, and Mako's bite 6-slotted in melee attacks give great ranged defense. I buy attuned IOs so they level up with me. Combat jumping is useful both for additional defense and movement, plus it uses very little endurance. If it suits you, you can grab hover to stay out of melee completely, which is adds a huge increase to survivability.

Is it time to buff Hami? How would you?
Shred Monkey replied to Greycat's topic in General Discussion
Quick and simple... Cap the zone at 30.
