  1. I agree. I would only use these for pet-summoning powers if it wasn't for the /bind command. But with the command, I use them just as I would a targeted AoE.
  2. I'm the idiot who uses merits to buy ATOs (assuming the ATO's aren't available on the AH.) But that's because I have merits falling out of my, up.... shorts. I just don't bother doing the conversion thing...1 trip to the AH, and 1 merit vendor in my SG base and I'm done shopping... I Christmas shop the same way, IRL. If it ain't on Amazon, you ain't gettin' it.
  3. All men are international to someone, and domestic to others.
  4. While of course you can do a better bio with more room. I think the amount of space we have now is actually about right. A character description give just enough information to "introduce" the character and maybe set up a way to interact with their RP. But a good backstory needs pages, not a paragraph. What we really DO need, however, is a better editing function.
  5. A Scrapper stands gloriously among a swarm of charging enemies. A Blaster stands gloriously over a pile of fresh bodies.
  6. I ask myself this question every time I make a new toon. So far, on homecoming I have only 1 level 50 scrapper, and his name is DBELECdonotplaythisguy or something like that, stuck on the backpage of my character screen.
  7. This is going to be a curveball suggestion, but if I wanted to use a really good costume creator for screenshots and videos that I was going to use for an out of game project but not for the game itself, I would use Champions Online. Their costume creator has way more customization options than CoH and they even have a room in the costume store inside the powerhouse that is full greenscreen.
  8. I'm getting out of my depth, but, a computer is going to make a 32 bit (or 64 bit?) number anyway, right? Reducing the granularity is just done by rounding something that starts off as more precise.
  9. I'm the same way... not wanting to burn emp merits for anything but incarnate use. But if you are the type of player who plays your full built incarnates a lot (like me), you eventually just have a bunch of emp merits, threads, and components you don't need. You can share emp merits with your next 50 of course but eventually you just run out of uses for them. Similarly, I end up breaking down my components into threads, then turning all my excess threads into super inspirations to sell on the AH for influence.
  10. The Heather Townsand arc (Dark Astoria Part 1) rewards 2 Emp merits which you can convert to reward merits. If I recall correctly it's 1 to 10 conversion. So it comes out to 20 merits every 10-15 minutes. I think this comes out about the same as the twilight son TF mentioned earlier.
  11. If you want to stay at range, tactical arrow... if you want to go into melee, ninja (or martial). All are viable options. That said, I think one of the big benefits of Archery is that you have no reason to go into melee since there are PBAoEs like other many other primaries have.
  12. Absorb buffs with lots of goofy mechanics to exploit.
  13. The answer to that question depends on what kind of game you're making. Is this an open world role-playing GAME or an open world role-playing SANDBOX? At launch it was an RPG, but In it's current state, I would say it's a superhero sandbox. Games should have power-increasing reward locked behind content gates (and never RL time gates or random loot-box gates). Aesthetic content such as costumes and customization should be available from level 1 (or behind pay walls because most games do actually need to make money).
  14. I don't think it's in any of my current builds, but I've been guilty of using my epic powers as mules to 2-slot apocalypse multiple times.
  15. Employee surveys are NOT your chance to safely and anonymously give your honest opinions.
  16. I don't really play "in character." But with my more *angry aggressive* toons I tend to make comments like "I'm farming the screams of my defeated foes and the tears of their loved ones." Actually, now that I think about it, all my toons are angry aggressive, so maybe that's just me.
  17. one can use something without knowing what it's called.. I mean we all do it with... that... one... thingy.
  18. He was also unstoppable in Celebrity Deathmatch.
  19. I would assume it was Marilyn Manson... and IMHO he (and honestly this is true of most 90s rock heroes) was much better before I knew what he looked like.
  20. I did one of these. As a hoverblaster with a heal and debuffs, it had EXTREME survivability. I was planning for it to be my "solo anything" toon. Fully built, it can easily solo GMs, but the dps is too low for soloing many 54AVs (who resist the -regen debuffs). Personally, I didn't enjoy it on teams very much. It's damage is so much weaker than other blaster options I didn't feel like I was contributing very much. That boost to survivability doesn't mean much on a team. Also, one of your best attacks is AoE knockback, so can be kind of messy on teams, anyway.
  21. I couldn't find this... anyone know if the change to reaction time (Martial secondary) increased the absorb or decreased it? They just say it made it the same as the fire one, but I don't know what that means.
  22. He's looking up the number in his palm pilot. He's going to use that pay phone next to him to call.
  23. Soft-capped to Ranged, Smash/lethal, etc blasters are pretty well documented as making entire ATs feel worthless. But that's endgame stuff. For an interesting level-up check check out water/martial for a weird synergy of slows and AoE knocks plus a heal and an absorb shield. Slot for ranged defense wherever you can. Somewhere around level 25-30 you'll find yourself just running around grinning and calling out, "I'm winning!... I don't know how this is happening, but I just keep winning!"
  24. Being born with money and then getting shot or captured while in military service seems to be a pretty common path. Also, I'm told being a white male will give you an insurmountable advantage over anyone who isn't one.
