  1. No, you misunderstand. You could give me a bunch of shinies and I still probably won't play Redside because I don't enjoy Redside on its own merits. It's not that "I don't want them giving Redsiders more stuff! Otherwise I'll be forced to play Redside because I value the shinies so much!" it's "You could remove all the merits from hero arcs and give them to villains and I still probably wouldn't be a Redsider". I play the content I enjoy, and Redside is not enjoyable. One thing that would make me enjoy Redside is more nuance and choice in missions to let me lean more Rogue than sociopath. Same would go for Blueside, might as well put more Vigilante leaning options and choices in there as well to flesh out these alignments. I take the time to read all the mission dialogue and I like to get in the head of my character. A big draw of "being bad" is being free, and Redside does not really feel all that free if you read who you work for and what you're being told to do. But that's apparently too tall an order. So I remain Blueside with the occasional Redside street sweeper because making Villains in character creation is loads of fun and I just HAVE to see it in action, even if it's just knocking around RIP for a while.
  2. I'm also of the mind that you shouldn't bribe people to do content they don't want to do. I started CoX with City if Villains but eventually went 70% Blue (15% Red and 15% Gold for variety). That's not likely to change, even if Redside throws more merits at me. The couple Reds I do have usually just street sweep and do occasional team missions. One thing that'd get me to play Red more is more options in mission arcs. To have more "Rogue" options alongside the usual Villain outcomes. Rogue is my second favorite alignment after Hero and would love to play my Rogues more like Rogues outside the handful of alignment tip missions.
  3. That'd be hilarious and moments like that would stick with me. It'd make me run the content several times to see what silly stuff they'd say to different characters. Like I said, small but personalized stuff like this can stick with you and make for a better gaming experience.
  4. I definitely support more stuff like this. The game assumes you are a standard human with some quirky powers rather than the huge amount of possibilities you can get from the creator. Like maybe it's not the best idea to task an 8ft tall lizardman to go undercover in a Hellions hideout. These guys aren't terribly bright, sure, but even THEY would at least be suspicious. Even in little bits here and there to help acknowledge your unique character would go a long way in building immersion.
  5. I support this, ideally as alternate animations for existing sets but I'd gladly take it as its own set
  6. At this point I'd rather the team improve the functionality of AE, that way we have an easier time making a broad spectrum of content for all levels and tastes. As opposed to trying to be big wallet developers with bimonthly content updates to suit all our playstyles. Given the limited time and resources of the devs, improving user generated content tools would be more pragmatic than manually adding content themselves which will always be divisive. But if I had a choice, I'd go with higher level content since our last round of missions is mid range. And stuff that challenges Incarnates of moderate means. That way unideal team comps can still win, even with a good deal of patience and coordination required to do so.
  7. Defeat for select mobs, penalties to others. I like it. Would make Elec great across the board
  8. Let's not do any of this. Maybe something with Flurry but other than that Speed is fine as is. Any nerfs or meddling with Hasten would wreck countless builds. Making it baseline would tick off the folks that don't want more power creep. Making mutually exclusive alternatives would be ignored while most try for perma or near perma Hasten since it gives you the most recharge for power and slot picks. Hasten as it is is here to stay. "The only winning move is not to play" in terms of adjusting Hasten or recharge in general.
  9. I'd love to have your costume change as you used or toggled certain powers. Like turning on a toggle would swap to a costume of your choice and detoggling would swap you back. Would also be cool on a per power use if possible. Like using Laser Eye Beams would swap to a costume with an eye aura and swap back as the move finishes its animation. This is possible with macros already but the timer does hinder it somewhat. If it's possible and can't be used to grief I fully support it.
  10. So rather than using the current support types like Support, Control or Defense it'd be a hybrid like Assault (Melee and Blast) and Manipulation (Melee and Control). And I guess Composition which is the secondary powerset category of Guardians (Armor and Support. Guardians use Assault as their primary) So it's like a Guardian, but instead of Assault/Composition it's Control/Composition. Every AT in the game and ones frequently suggested are a combination of Melee, Blast, Armor, Control, Support, and Pet powerset types. Two hybrid types being Assault and Manipulation. Your idea is suggesting a new hybrid powerset type. That'd be a good start to open your proposal with to clear up confusion. Also, splitting an AT between three roles (not including epic pool powers), you need to figure out which one of these roles your AT excels at and which two get a bit watered down.
  11. Defense and Control I can see. Damage with holds, procced out holds, damage auras, etc. Basically the proc monster AT. Not to mention sets like Gravity and Illusion. Defense and Support? Many oofs. It'd rely largely on its epic pool, which makes for a ghoulish leveling and exemplaring experience.
  12. I'd take Meltdown if I had room for it in my build. Do I need it? Not really. If it had a crash like Unstoppable, I can say with absolute certainty I'd laugh off the concept of it. I only consider it due to its relatively minor crash. Sky high risk for little to no reward with most of these T9s.
  13. If nothing else, alternate animations but OG colors since it feels impossible to select alternate ice animations and replicate the original colors
  14. I support this! It's a good option for those who want the leadership role of a VEAT without being a stinky Arachnos goon. *stamp of approval* More options for more origins. All we need now is a techy option for Control and maybe Assault.
  15. So it's Bowling for Hellions, but in reverse?
  16. That would be my thought. Just a means to reduce the rate at which you fall, rather than complex mechanisms to simulate real gliding. I always knew doing even the most inconsequential things in CoH was difficult but this is at a new level!
  17. I think it'd be pretty cool if there was a Glide travel power toggle from the P2W vender. To balance it, maybe make it mutually exclusive with Ninja, Beast, and Athletic Run in terms of getting it for free and then having to purchase it if you have those other powers. Basically, for the endurance cost equivalent to the Ninja/Beast/Athletic Run powers, your falling speed is reduced, given air control if you didn't already have it, and have your fall damage negated. For a little extra endurance per second, you can leap and bound without worry with Super Jump or even Super Speed with its new momentum-based jumping mechanic! Maybe make certain costume pieces like Rocket Boots, the various jetpacks, and wings animate while Glide is active. Flapping wings would be perfectly fine, but it'd be even cooler if they could splay out in a gliding pose as well. I don't expect capes to become rigid and take on a gliding pose considering that they're free flying cloth physics, but it'd be cool if such a thing got implemented. In terms of what it would add to the game beyond adding more theme powers, it could help supplement a Super Speed or Speed of Sound user's air time. Super Jump, along with the new Double Jump, could essentially fly with a little more interaction and endurance cost than true flight while being faster. Mighty Leap wouldn't get the same verticality as Super Jump but could glide even faster with its new popup power. I feel like Glide alone could help further balance the existing travel powers and give players more options to get around the city. To break it down: Super Jump with Double Jump -> Could easily cover the distance of any map with Double Jump's additional verticality with gliding. Mighty Leap with Takeoff -> Won't have the same verticality as Double Jump, but the increased jump speed will make you glide faster. Super Speed with Momentum -> Further extend the airtime of your momentum powered jump to cover even more ground and make navigating the city even easier at top speed. Speed of Sound with Jaunt -> Build up speed, Jaunt up into the air, and not immediately plummet to the ground. Jaunt's cooldown prevents you from effectively chaining it, but with enough airtime you can activate Jaunt again in the air to keep airborne. Teleportation -> If you're having trouble picking a spot to teleport, Glide can give you some extra breathing room before you begin to plummet to the ground, or at least make it so you don't need to target the ground in order to safely land after chaining teleports to travel. Infiltration -> Gliding and stealth. Batman, anyone? The more I thought about it, the more I liked it and wanted to post it. Just by having a toggle (thus a tangible cost for improved travel) that reduces your fall speed while maintaining air speed and control (and offering control if it wasn't already there), you have a permanent travel toggle that can interact with existing powers in a variety of cool ways. It's not there to replace travel powers you invested power picks and enhancement slots into, but can improve them further.
  18. I'm pretty pleased with the Flight changes overall. Thanks for adding a little extra speed to Fly as well.
  19. Holy crap the disc/rocketboard/carpet changes look awesome! I might even make characters around them now!
  20. Still iffy on rune but... Arcane Bolt is back on the menu! For my Controller, at least.
  21. You're not wrong but I find even less usable hair for dudes.
  22. I support this! I see you're like @EgyptoNerd You know the struggle. You can't pick Barbarian hair forever! On a more serious note, I'd really like some new hairstyles for Male/Huge that don't look like garbage. There's like 2 or 3 I find useable.
  23. I want a "I Hate Arachnos" armor set. Just like... built to ruin Arachnos's day armor set.
  24. Right? Habashy: "Okay, you need to don this disguise so you can infiltrate the Hellions!" My 8ft tall lizardman character: "Something tells me this isn't going to work out very well." Lo and behold this disguise is not merely a change of clothes but some sort of magical glamor or illusion. Same with female characters being turned into winged demons for that mission. It really does hamper the immersion somewhat. Though I support having increased run speed in these missions if they absolutely have to stay.
