  1. I was very sad on Live to discover that my "Teleporter" concept character's lovely Propel power didn't show consistent projectiles. To me, I would hit a bad guy with a junked car, and quip "Eat Buick, buddy!" To my confused teammates, the object appeared to be a barrel, a gargoyle, or other random items. No two the same (except rarely, by chance). Is there some deep, game-changing reason this happens? Seems like our characters are exchanging info about buffs, SFX colors, costume changes... But sending an object ID is out of the question? At the least, couldn't we use a one-time pad approach, where on login a list of objects is generated which can be shared to my teammates? If you guys fix this, I promise to double your salaries! In any event, thanks for listening, and many thanks for my second life back!
  2. Ah, guess that makes sense. Something similar shows up as a red ring around my Targeting Drone on my Rad/Dev blaster. Thanks!
  3. Moonbeam, on a Dark/Dark Corrupter. Not used to seeing it on my Rad Blaster.
  4. Precisely! Though, being able to prevent the trays from being dragged out of position would also be a blessing.
  5. Every time I fight those Lost Bosses with the broken TVs on their heads, I can't resist: "Hey, buddy, does that get anything but the Ugly Channel?" ... And I'll keep doing it until someone laughs!
  6. What about the red-and-yellow ring? What does that signify?
  7. As an added bonus, it's free if you do it before level 10! Good time to fill any spare slots with interesting variations.
  8. In the help screen for the log parser, the "settitle.txt" link is throwing a 404. (Noticed when I saved and tried to load and got html parsing errors for the custom 404 page.)
  9. Just for fun, try doing the search-and-replace on the SpeedOnDemand30.bas file itself. Then you won't need to massage the output files. Nice find, thanks for this!
  10. I wish there was a "Lock Trays the way I put them, dammit!" option. I use the mouse to trigger powers a lot (weird, I know) and accidentally hitting the tiny hidden arrows at the label end of the tray drives me crazy. Also hate acci-dragging a tray out of position, either can get my character killed.
  11. I've tried running two toons at once, but I think I'm doing it wrongTM I cloned my c:\games\CoH folder to c:\games\CoH2, and created an new account, no problem, but the two fight over ownership of Tequila. Every time I launch either instance of Tequila I have to go into options, change the install path to the one I want, exit Tequila, and launch it again. Once I get both launched, things work pretty well just alt-tabbing with the sidekick on Follow, spamming heals or whatever. (And using the /maxinactivefps 1 command keeps the resource use down, which I appreciate.) But launching both is a pain, to the point where I seldom bother. Any advice from folks who do this every day? Also, Microsoft and I are mortal enemies, so I prefer to run under Linux, but let's not cloud the issue here. Just assume I'm running a stripped-down Windows 10.
  12. I get the same about Mystic Flight/Translocate. I think it's a bug, though.
  13. To the point, though, did recent changes make it so turning off XP isn't useful?
  14. Yeah, I was hoping a Universal Travel enh would boost its range. No such luck.
  15. There is a "Lock Powers in Tray" toggle at the bottom of the General options page.
  16. Cool! I'll try to translate for RPM-based distros like Fedora once you're done. (I'm stuck working from home for a while, and one of my jobs is to practice shell scripting. I think this qualifies!)
  17. Let us know if you have any luck getting CoH running on the Raspberry Pi. You might have to use qemm to emulate an x86 CPU, since rpi uses an ARM SOC. AFAIK, qemm is the most efficient way to emulate an x86 on ARM. Someone more capable than I might be able to take the source code and recompile the client for ARM. That would almost certainly let the Pi run CoH, it has done well with other games, at least on the 4GB Pi 4. Personally, I use PlayOnLinux to run CoH on Fedora 31, and it works quite well. But that's on an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, so YMMV.
  18. Anyone else seeing Mapserver attacks much more frequently? I'm having trouble finishing missions. Also, I can confirm the PA zoning bug. 1 survivor each time.
  19. Yay! Worked great, thanks! Sorry, didn't realize it was compiled, for some reason I expected text source and an interpreter. Is it irony to use one back-from-the-dead project on another? And again, many thanks! PS: I'm running CoH under Fedora 30/xfce, with Wine Staging 4.19. What's your setup?
  20. I'm sorry, but my arch-nemesis Verizon is attacking! I'll have to go somewhere with a wired connection. So I'm going to have to wait to install Lazarus. But when I can, from what I see, this is a Libre reimplementation of Pascal? Cool! So for everyone on Fedora 3x, the command is: sudo dnf install lazarus But once I do that, how do I launch your program? (All I see is an exe, which will launch in WINE. I'd don't want to create yet another winebottle, I'm starting to fill up my SSD with Windows crap!) With the Lazarus interpreter installed, I should be able to run it natively, no? I didn't get source from the link, just the Win binary zipfile. But many, many thanks for all your hard work!
  21. Replying to myself (that's a sign of something, I think). The next update of WINE fixed whatever was broken, and I'm happily playing away without leaving my penguin comfort zone.
  22. I finally made it work this time! Yay! Is there a badge? Keep up the good work!
  23. Sorry! I guess I just missed it. Saw the re-roll-out announcement and went off to play. Thanks!
