  1. "I hate this free lunch! And the portions are too small!" ... Thanks for trying, devs! Limitations of the game engine, manpower, or playerbase aren't your fault! Technically, could clientside settings like Turn off Sending Buffs (forget the exact name) help at all?
  2. Antipodea, my Storm/Ice defender on Live/Virtue had kind of a chip on her shoulder from all the teams where she was told, "Just Shut Up and Heal!" ... So the workaround was, she usually led her own teams. It was a delight, after leading a tough mission where she had been hurricaning, storming, and blasting her little heart out, when one teammate took time out to say, "It is a pure pleasure to watch a well-run Stormie!" Even today, I get a thrill when I think of it. I always try to pass that sort of thing on, and particularly like it when someone has a good bio. Good bio AND costume AND you can play? You'll hear about it from me!
  3. Tidge, that's the Hospital and Graveyard day badges combined, yes? Extremely handy! From my point of view: Any power not recharging is being under-utilized. So use 'em! And if there is no room in your tray, you are missing out on free insps. So use 'em! Just makes sense from a utilitarian standpoint. (Not Randian Objectivism, they don't play superhero games. Reference Zach Snyder.)
  4. I hear ya! My Storm/Ice Defender had to go redside to get better armor (Smash/Lethal/Cold) and gain Hibernate (the giant Ice Cube power). It works great for me, but some players aren't cool with that (pun intended). I'm lucky that Mako's set can be pretty much seafood-free if you pick the right powers/customizations. OT, it would be nice if Patron Pools had more customization available. I don't mind having to do quests to unlock them, I just wish the quests weren't the typical "Be my lackey!" redside stuff that turns me off from redside in general.
  5. Time Bomb should just go. It's a waste of space and time. As far as Web Grenade, any chance it could be changed to be like the /Devices version, Toxic Web Grenade? It does a small but enhanceable amount of DoT while it immobilizes. Seconded on the idea of making Triage Beacon follow you.
  6. Because the P2W power works only every half an hour. If you change builds? Wait half an hour. Use it before everyone has joined the team, or change the mish? Half an hour. I'd presume the TP power pick would be less like the P2W and more like the Destiny Incandescence Incarnate power (2 minute cooldown, IIRC), without the side effects of healing, disorienting, or blowing stuff up. There's a place for it.
  7. I've not used all the pools, so I'll stick to what I know. I strongly support fixing Teleport. My techno Teleport-themed Grav/Time controller had to pick three pool powers (Hover, Flight, and Teleport) to essentially gain the benefits my Ill/Time sorcerer got from Mystic Flight. That's just wrong! Suggestion: Cut the casting time, increase the range, reduce the END, and make the Hover at the end last until you move. You should never fall out of the sky just from lag. Combining TP foe and Recall Friend would be a welcome enhancement. Fill the empty slot with Assemble the Team. And make Long-Range Teleport at least as good as the P2W Team Transport power. Right now it's underwhelming. My 2 copper pieces.
  8. Steel Canyon, for the soundtrack. Still get a thrill heading downtown.
  9. I concur with those who don't enjoy Scrappers; I just hate chasing bad guys around the room. At least Tanks get the Taunt, so less chasing. And I haven't managed to stick with any of the "Epic" archetypes past level 15 or so. I just wander off to find a FUN character to play. (I also tend to dislike any toon with a Fantasy RPG theme. I've already played those to death, in a hundred other games! "Get me out of this frigging DUNGEON!")* *Yes, I'm looking at YOU, Oranbega!
  10. +1 for using the Scientific Method!
  11. I believe it just adds more options to the RNG. Rolls a d20 instead of a d12. But I could be wrong.* * I thought I was wrong once, but I wasn't!
  12. Welcome to the non-greedy CoH! Lucky you!
  13. Usually, what I'll see wrong info about (and I do this, too) it's OUTDATED info. (Nobody wants to hear me waxing nostalgic about how things were before the Global Defense Nerf.) So if something's changed (and again, I do this, too) it's nice to say, "Not anymore. They changed it in issue 24!" (For example.) Or if you want to be very diplomatic, "Ah, if only it still did that. Alas, Jack applied the nerfbat back in Going Rogue to anyone who wasn't a Classical scholar..."
  14. But the stomp was the only good part, and it's not enhanceable. Thus my "meh." Glad you enjoy it, though! Looking forward to Utility Belt for Natural Origin characters, sounds perfect for my stalker, No Millionaire.
  15. Sorcery seems excellent, at least on my sorcerer. Force of Will was pretty meh on my WP Tank.
  16. Clearly, Heroclix need to be nerfed! "Jack? Get yer bat!"
  17. I love sticking to the theme that inspired a character. To the point that my Storm/Ice Defender had to take an excursion Redside to pick up Mako's Epic Pool so she could get the Hibernate (Giant Ice Cube of Awesomeness) power. It just makes it so much more fun for me. I guess it's related to the Roleplaying Urge that crops up from time to time. But I hear ya! More power to the Theme!
  18. To be fair, you can run... Well, let's say, "walk" x86 code on ARM platforms. It's just seldom worth it. AFAIK, QEMU is the most performant solution, it emulates at a very low level. But, in general, I think we'll need to recompile for an ARM target in order to play properly. Though I'd be happy if I could just access the Auction House from my phone! Or, heck, the costume maker, the character builder, or in-game "email."
  19. Fun, interesting ideas here, but many of them call for a lot of work on the part of the Devs. If I may, I'd like to suggest a cheaper idea, that works in the real world. In real life, why do people become "villains?" Usually because they perceive the benefits outweigh the risks. Most criminals are in it because they see a quick, easy way to get what they want. They perceive the chance of being caught is minimal, while the rewards are excellent. So: Why not give villains double xp and influence? Maybe with a more significant penalty for being defeated? Something like 4x the debt, or perhaps a "time-out" which can be reduced by performing "community service" missions. Apparently, it works in real life...
  20. Glad to hear it! That Chromebook is Intel-based, though, not ARM, correct? Has anyone gotten anywhere with ARM-based devices? (I would commit manslaughter do an Oranbega defeat all to get CoH running on my phone!)
  21. Is it possible that, when people are seeing different numbers for some of these (i.e. healing IOs) that there is some difference for different archetypes? If the guy who sees 30% benefit is a Defender and the guy who sees 25% is a Blaster, could that explain the difference? Just spitballin'! PS: Sorry to commit necromancy, I actually gave up all that magic stuff for Science...
  22. MY condolences. Cue Parrot Shop sketch: Well if you know it's coming, its hardly an Ambush, is it? But if you mean after you've zoned, and before you can run off and leave the hapless PCs in King's Row to deal with your 30+ attackers, some kind of notice to your team (and possible the zone at large) would be nice.
  23. May I suggest "Coriolis" or "Aurora" as alternatives? Sympathies, I wish we all never had to worry about it. OTOH, makes for a very bad beer. Dos Equis or even Tecate suggested as alternatives.
