I do not know how to view how proc's, Leadership, bubbles, etc affect the pets. How do you view this? I see cumulative effects for self in the windows but, how do you view the res/def for the pets?

@Clave Dark 5 where's the build pardner? Since I'm going to have healing out the wazoo as an Emp, is Repair for the bots really necessary? It's been so long since I've run a Bots that I've forgotten who well or not that it helps No, you're not going to need it. I've heard Arcane Bolt makes a good attack for MMs; although not exactly thematic, I'm willing to overlook that in favor of helping my bots out damage-wise. I figure this with Pulse Rifle Burst (only) would be nice? It would be but whats the theme? Off topic, but, to me having a tech mm shooting magic lasers is....a stretch. I'm really picky that way. Should I go to Arcane Bolt, how useful might Enflame from Sorcery as well be? Knowing that pets don't runaround like headless chickens anymore, unless you tell them to. I'm still not sold on the Sorcery pool, I understand people use it. But, I've gotten more mileage out of pool attacks. I have seen it in builds but never seen anyone use it. If anything I think it would be better on the Thugs Bruiser. The build mentioned above goes set-bonus-chasing for slotting out the bots, but the times I've run MMs in HC (a Beasts and a Mercs) I frankenslotted for Pet Resists and what-not, what's a good Bot Slot choice? I would go for the def procs, plus, bot bubbles and fortitude you should be fine for the pets. Are you using strictly as ranged? The KB to KD proc for assbot, maybe a Hami Cytoskeleton exposure in protectors...you said cheap so a regular def IO. Anything else I am obviously blind to that you think I should consider? Need to see the build to answer that. _____________________________

1. Spring 2006, saw City of Villains at a store and read it. Thought there was no way you could actually play as a super Villain and customize it. 2. Played shortly up to the "end", but, never experienced it due to rl circumstances. 3. Had a Vgmate tell me about it and couldn't believe it, very happy. 4. Leveled a toon to 4 took fly and traveled around looking at stuff. 5. The original files are gone so had to remake from scratch. Have only one that remained a villain as it was on live and the others have all new looks/powers, same names though. 6. I play a specific AT which is the mastermind, I have not found anything like it anywhere else and because of that it makes it unique and special.

Page 3 for issue 27 or an issue 28 update.
The_Warpact replied to eldriyth's topic in General Discussion
This, so this and then want to get pissy that they search for it. You'd think there was a full force of paid developers at the players beck and call just waiting to crank out as much content as possible. As my dad used to say "sit back shut up and enjoy the ride, we'll get there when we get there". 😉 -

You know @Snarky I think in the wee hours of the morn you get up. Making sure you don't wake Mrs.Snarky and the lil Snarkys, you like to sneak down to the cellar and wear one. Maybe practice some wrestling moves, jumping off a trampoline pretend flying, probably some Buffalo Bill mirror time. Perhaps that's why you started this thread maybe justification into what you do, maybe some understanding where it comes from, and maybe some acceptance from the community. Well sir you'll get none from me and your depraved unitard fetish.

OK I had a long winded critique, but, I changed it so i wouldn't be so...critical? Anywho, I understand you mish-matched 2 builds, try this instead. It concentrates getting your def and res up, recharge, and end management. Of course Incarnate stuff will help out later so its on there, but, if you shut that stuff off you are way more survivable, I'm not a fan of the sorcery pool but, I incorporated it since you wanted to try it. This is how I would play it, so I made the build how i would like it. You are highly survivable with good debuffs, and attacks this will cause mobs to initially go after you unless you have key commands/macros for your bruiser to be the tank then this frees you up to cause all the havoc you want. If the arsonist wants to be a suicidal dick don't follow him down that rabbit hole let his ass die it's easier to spawn him again. Use your commands, command your pets, it will make your job as a mastermind wwwwaaayyy easier. Take this as my opinion, it has led me to almost exclusively play as a MM...although I do love my pet heavy trollers...in no way shape or form am I an expert but, it's served me well so far. Better than Chi Town, Philly, NYC, or Cleve-Land (shudders).😏 I'm almost thinking the actual population of Paragon are npc villains, with some civilian elements. Think about how many actual villain to civilian ratio you see, its like 20 villain to 1 civilian. I think that's why there are so many issues plus 1 hero to 100 villain and 1 cop to 5 villain and this is just basing it on what I have seen over the years. Actual numbers are probably worse. So it is City of Villains regardless of what side/zone/world or dimension you play on. So its no small wonder stuff is screwed up everywhere with giant calamari eating people, dimensional riffs releasing dog deer mutants, zones that look like all of Roland Emmerich movies hit them, and demon city underground. I'd still rather live there than Cleve-Land...*shudders*

As soon as Darkest Night hits he is off. I spammed soul tentacles, soul storm, and had the lich and Fluffy on his ass and we stopped him long enough. But, that fight was all over the graveyard. I got him once with soul storm it didn't animate just had the glowies around him, sort of a jip I wanted to see his hillbilly ass up in the air. I had a couple times with Adamastor do his foot stomp gave me trouble but ultimately he fell. The only MM I ever used provoke on was my bots/ff who I pvp with back on live, I needed intimidate to vs /dark MMs. It stopped them from spamming Howling Twilight (stun). Most of the time to keep their attention on me I hit them with attacks, spam debuffs, it works but its a pain sometimes. My builds are usually real tight so I can't afford the presence pool.
-
Well the test is to solo a AV/GM, so what do you need a tank for?😉 Did you have a tank aggro the pylon when you tested it? Come on now put your abilities and your build against a GM, the Ghost of Scrapyard is good, I think Adamastor foot stomp would scatter/kill the zombies too much. Those 2 are the easiest to spawn, I use Scrapyard as a test for all my MMs.
-
I dont think it can, I have many necro builds and none of them can take down a GM/AV. The only consistent one I've had has been a demon/cold. Probably demon/therm, /Traps definitely, and don't know about /Poison. I've heard /dark but have never seen it. /Rad I dont think you could keep your pets alive long enough, and the rest i seriously doubt.

People complaining about RPing on an RP server?

No no I was just responding to you as a possible alternative train of thought, if I'm not tagged or quoted then its not directed at me. -

If you hadn't noticed a large chunk of the player base do not get on the forums. Out of my VG I am the only one out of 7 that get on here. To most it is a game and treat it accordingly. That being said, it does not condone any behavior that bashes on anyone's fun. I didn't know when I first joined because it was just a game and I didn't frequent these forums. Obviously that has changed but, then again RP doesn't bug me because its none of my business how other players want to have fun. -

I think it would be strange if you were on a team for w/e and someone just started RP. If it was labeled as a RP team then yeah justified complaint but, if it was a group of strangers and you just started RP then that would be weird. I dont RP yes now I know its the unofficial RP server but when I first came on I didn't know. The only time I get annoyed is when I'm in AE and we get a group that starts doing local RP. I call them out and tell them to take it to team, especially when I'm trying to have a discussion on our team and can't see our discussion because of all the local speak. I get that Pocket D is a totally different beast, but, having conversations in local and/or bc should be frowned upon because, now your interfering with other people discussions. Of course people spamming buffs are annoying period, at least to me. -
Et tu, brute? Just because.....yeah I've played scrappers never been really impressed I'm not a numbers cruncher on alot of ATs. That being said brutes I just love the wild action, I play tanks to go up against anything and survive, stalkers are ok, I prefer them to scrappers. I started and stayed on redside so brutes have been the unstoppable monster, until tanks got their buff and now they're ok.

I chalk it up to them being able to resist/defend against some things. Honestly I don't blame them can you imagine being a single villain and having the JLA bearing down on you. Ego and arrogance will only take you so far, then its the "shit your britches" and take off running. I know its programming blah, blah, blah I like my reasoning better.

https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/28-the-arena-pvp/ You might get more traction here or on the Excelsior thread. Good luck!

Well you learn something new everyday i guess, thanks for that piece of info.

Does the def/res procs carry over to the pets all the time if its in gang war? Didn't think about burnout good one! I tend to not do any fisticuffs with my mastermind, I'm the Blofeld type of villain I sit and pet my cat, make decisions and let the pets sully their nails. I'll pull up on Mids when I get home thanks!

Not assuming, your thread has it that you do random builds and requests. Hence, the reason why I tagged you, didn't know you were not around any longer. Trying to give people options if they need a build, your thread is a good starting point with its hundreds of different builds for different ATs, plus, I've seen you help quite a few folks out in the past so thats why I tagged ya. If your not doing it any longer or you've moved on then I didn't know. So no worries.
