  1. And well that guy aka @iBot beat me to it pretty much anything can solo pretty much everything in the game if you exclude AV and GM rank foes from the equation. It'll come down to personal preferences and tolerances. How fast, how much mez, how far you go in adding p2w options, notoriety settings, how many or if you use IOs etc., etc.. Most of the above have armor and mez protection except for the blaster who especially outside of IOs and p2w is basically a glass cannon ... but playstyle, skill and or a few key IOs can make that glass highly bullet resistant. A Scrapper or Brute on SOs only are probably the most straightforward solo builds but I've run solo Empathy defenders pre IO. They won't set speed records or spawn size records but I was soloing at least one of them on Invincible in Cimeroran repeatables way back and the build had IOs but was a long, long way from a beastly build even for that time nevermind today's levels of IOs (lots of patience, Cosmic Burst and Air Superiority involved).
  2. Agree with all the above. Any mix of Fire or Plant paired with Storm or TA is going to devastate large mobs and going to be equally deadly to hard targets. Plant might be slightly less deadly to AVs simply because its Confuse won't be very effective against them. Then again if you can keep a mob confused and beating on the AV with you 👍 Ill/Traps I haven't tried yet but it is likely very potent against AV/GM class foes and only slightly less fast in creating corpses vs numbers of foes.
  3. Yes you really want PA as reliably on a 58 sec or shorter recharge to minimize the risk of grabbing aggro during casting. 58 rather than 60 is more ideal because of the way PA casts. The phantasms appear at 1 sec intervals, so at 0, 1 and 2 sec and disappear at 60, 61 and 62 secs hence for a complete overlap the first replacement phantasm needs to appear 58 seconds after the last previous one appeared as I recall the conventional wisdom back on Live.
  4. Mine is an Earth/Storm/Stone Controller. Using Stalagmites, Thunderclap and Fissure as her main mitigation against her foes. She doesn't generally allow them to wobble about much (but that's choice rather than necessity) but it's quite effective at minimizing incoming damage without high or capped defense or using Hurricane's debuff to do so. Harkens back to The Mighty Storm's "diso-queen" build ideas from way back on Live.
  5. It's how you bring the tower(s) down onto the path your team is on during an ITF to join the general scrum.
  6. Interesting human behavior as someone with very minimal tech savvy and no knowledge do to dead computer I'm guessing that once you've created an account on each server (HC, Rebirth, Thunderspy, Cake) that it's probably about as difficult and time consuming to go from Everlasting to Excelsior as it would be to go from Everlasting to Rebirth. *shrug* Making it at least a bit of a 'Brand loyalty' thing if true.
  7. You holding out for a /jknife or something? 😜
  8. Well I'm sure they added tip missions for a variety of reasons and I doubt that Vidiot Maps existence played much of a role. That wasn't my point. My point was they are both ways to satisfy a perceived issue by the player base at large -> finding a specific badge in a very much subjective timely fashion. And yes using Vidiot Maps to locate a badge, particularly one you've spent some fruitless time hunting for on your badger was something I certainly did. And while my friend whose blaster was getting sniped repeatedly while trying to find Agent Six got my help in finding the store contact rather than use Vidiot Maps to do so I'd 'heard' stuff about folks doing just that. And over the years this isn't remotely the first time this suggestion or one very much like it has popped up. Edit: I said the issue was finding a badge which is too specific. Really as Oklahoman says way better than I did, it's about finding pretty much anything you might be curious about. Vidiot Maps was really just a very early resource I came across early on that was valuable as a source for finding all sorts of things not just badges.
  9. And behind all this a reminder that currently as is resistance resists a resistance debuff and has no cap involved. You hit 100% or more resistance to something you're effectively immune to being debuffed by resistance debuffs against you. And gratz to myself if I wrote that correctly and double gratz if you understand it 🤪
  10. Perhaps what is needed is a bit of refinement to the suggestion. Remember the days of trying to find the Natural Store, dodging unseen Sniper attacks that would all but one shot your new maybe 32nd level Natural Origin character as you hunted for the contact? That's where the "need" for something like Vidiot Maps was born and why it became a much welcomed resource. That need is why the stores are now on your in-game map, why tip missions exist to help guide you to exploration badges and probably a slew of other tiny QoL additions over the decades. So no it's not needed now that we have much more robust and mature internet where AoL and Prodigy are history and Google is your friend. So maybe instead of an automatic download perhaps links or even a notation of the existence of Vidiot Maps and other player resources that exist here on these forums might be placed on the page.
  11. I'll second the endurance is a not particular problem for SR any more than any other character at low levels and pre-IO. If it seems to be an issue add in your end recovery specials (Miracle, Numinas, Perf Shifter, etc.) which should alleviate most issues. Be sure to slot attacks with endred and enough accuracy to reliable hit. Adding a Kismet +6% can also help by reducing misses especially as Beginner's Luck tapers off. Edit: Just wanted to add while it's definitely a defense focused AT I think sometimes the scaling resistances are overlooked in terms of how much the set moves towards being a hybrid of defense and resist in a late game IO build
  12. No it would not be rude, post away!
  13. Yep no argument there. Whole threads have been devoted to discussing the various combinations of slots used (or available) and what gives you the best bang for the buck with those combos. And it's not always just what yields the most end. Maybe end is solid already so going with less slots or different set because it offers better set bonuses or a whole slew of other considerations. Using at least 3 Perf Shift in both Stamina and PP was just as important in my Claws/SR build as the end generated as that is where the set also gives you +max health. Happily I could also get a PS +end in each as well for the end boost.
  14. Just a note as it's probably creeping around the back of @PLVRIZR's brain but Performance Shifter +end is not a unique. You could put one in both Stamina and Phys Per if you wanted.
  15. This^ I've been on several random all (scrapper/VEAT/Brute) teams. Strong, hard to kill yes. Able to operate independently yes. Able to take on the vast majority of content, definitely yes. I've also done all defender, all controller and all support teams many, many times over. About the only thing I'd theorize about is whether or not to include one damage focused character (Scrapper or Blaster) over an 8th support character and theorizing would mostly revolve around if replacing the 8th support for a scrapper/blaster would make any substantial difference at all. There's a reason things like 8 Corruptors comes up in such discussions and gets compared to 8 defenders or 8 support and noticeably absent from the debates are teams of 8 scrappers, 8 melee or 8 'dps'. The one and only true advange such teams might have is health and health caps and even that can be largely obliterated by the large amounts of -damage that can be part of the support equation.
  16. And welcome home!
  17. Yep Relentless (and Ruthless) mobs are a whole lot nastier than your iTrial mobs. Incarnates get their To Hit buffed. In later trials they get some lvl shifts to counter ours. A Relentless mob gets a To Hit bonus twice that, then goes on to add defense, resistance, perception, rank boosts. Then adds to its usable powers which is why I suspect your SR tank was seeing some of those numbers as your tank was possible or probable not softcapped 24-7 vs the multiple Melt Armor incoming at times unless you were well buffed by allies (the amount of debuffs to get the same ... doable but harder to do effectively). And no touching those large inspires you tucked away for rainy day moments, nothing but Awaken type allowed. Combine this with smaller teams ... .
  18. And should have added "Purple Patch" also applies. And vs +4 foes it's going to get further reduced by another 0.48. Really think iTrials vs the new Hardcore difficulties (Ruthless and Relentless, in particular) are very different animals when it comes what works and why.
  19. Exactly how does this Gap Closer/Confront power do anything for my scrappers (except removing some things I have in fact used Confront for in the past)? Especially given none of them "teleport" as a form of movement in my role playing head canon and top it off that most of them would get to the mob faster than any potential new Gap Closer/Confront power is likely to achieve. What is this objective improvement?
  20. And don't forget to invite Slaughter Puppy 666!
  21. The vast majority of my characters are built to be stealthy. I rarely skip to the end, fighting my way. Stealth for me is an advantage I use to see mob placements like if or who's just around a corner on the map and use that info to decide when and how to start the fight.
  22. Oh yeah I knew it was a *high* mag kb though I hadn't looked it up lately. After watching a friend's Blaster get launched just shy of orbit by one I'd no doubts it was large. Seriously it was one of those moments where it was all either of us could do to breath we were laughing so hard. It was the large factory map where you have to find the bombs. We'd found one way up top the catwalks. He destroyed it and got blown halfway across the large outdoor map nearly to the entrance as a result. Animation glitch certainly fits the "it doesn't happen reliably" part of the equation. Frankly it's a fun glitch, really makes it feel like she's digging deep to avoid getting blown over backwards.
  23. Some weird stuff has (does?) happen at the extremes. Specifically my Claws/SR scrapper vs exploding Rikti bombs. They would send her skittering backwards but upright a fair distance at times when caught in the blast. No kd would occur but she definitely got moved backwards.
  24. So everyone else is 540 degrees! Even Blasters?
  25. Terra Volta is a zone that I was very good at moving around as I once spent considerable time finding my way to the reactor doors without any travel power. Just Sprint and Combat Jumping.
