  1. Fusionette is cool. Here's one of my characters in her Fusionette tribute costume, posing with her.
  2. Okay, impaired hearing is definitely a problem. However, for your info and others, a headset does not automatically prevent you from hearing things around you. Headsets are made with 'open cup' and 'closed cup' designs. They often look similar, but open cup headsets leave your ears 'open' to the air and don't block ambient noises.
  3. A LOT and yes. Typically, I start slotting IO's that are level 32-35 and with higher levels in the powers I get later on. I don't want to lose all my bonuses at the same time. Obviously, this doesn't apply to purples and such. Also, I take into account that, for example, I won't need as much +recovery at lower level because I have fewer attacks and slower recharge.
  4. I don't recall ever giving up on a character. The only thing that even comes close was when someone pointed out to me that a character's powers didn't really fit his name so I re-rolled him. I mean, I've made characters based on a silly name and taken them to 50. Remember the April Fool event with visual sound effects? I made Captain Freem and took him to 50.
  5. I don't see it as having a stigma. I've tried it and don't care for it. Like PL'ing and farming. Lots of people like these things but I don't.
  6. You mean per day? 🙂
  7. Not at all. Did you forget that you wrote this part: " I said it's useful for people who don't know any better. "
  8. And I'm saying that I'm an EXPERT at this game and I find the power to be useful - because it lets me be helpful to others and I value that.
  9. Well, I think inexperienced players should have fun, too. If I can reduce their frustration, then the power slot is well spent. At any rate, if it increases my fun, and someone else's, then BY DEFINITION it's not a waste since this is a GAME and fun is what we're here for. If it's a "total waste" to you, then don't take it. Problem solved. I don't build my characters for you. P.S. Funny you should mention the Taxibots and the Hollows. I was, and still am, a member of Paragon City Search And Rescue.
  10. And the truly generous player takes Recall to help people ANYWAY. Not everyone has a stealth IO. Not everyone knows that base empowerment stations even exist. Many people just don't have your level of experience and knowledge of the game and I go out of my way to help them have fun anyway.
  11. No offense taken. I absolutely recognize the value and this is why all my defenders and most of my controllers take all the Leadership toggles. Like I said, I just overlook team inspirations. When I switch to a character that is carrying some, my reaction is "Wow, I should have had some of those in that last mission. I need to remember to get some for next time." And then I don't. Well.... it might not be easy to work it in by level 8 but I have it on the majority of my characters. I'm all about teamwork and support and pretty much all of my characters will take a power or two that's mostly to benefit others. LOL. No. Having someone with Recall is no longer critical, like it used to be in some situations. Now it's simply useful. Being able to bring people to your location is HUGELY useful. I'll get Assemble The Team and I'll get the Incandescence incarnate power as a back-up, but that's not available when you're exemped below 50 and ATT has a long recharge. "Oh, but everyone should have ATT." Sure, but what if they forgot, or haven't gotten it yet, or that character didn't have the funds, or what if I'm the only person with Invisibility and my ATT is recharging from the last mission we stealthed? Trust me. I take Recall on most of my characters, I use it a lot and I get thanked by teammates *A LOT*.
  12. I don't like cheese in my pastries. Ricotta belongs in things like stuffed manicotti.
  13. I never really got into dual or team inspirations. I've only remembered to turn them on for one of my tanks and I have bought them for 'Really Hard Way' badge runs of the Magisterium. Most of the time, I forget they even exist.
  14. Weave has its place. Invuln is a 'mixed' or 'layered' set in that it has both resistance and defense but not enough of either for it to work alone. Adding Tough and Weave significantly improves both and makes a big difference.
  15. Oh yeah. My scrapper normally has his insp tray full of T2 and T3 purples. That makes Posi a cakewalk. Well, for me at least. There might be a lot of dying AROUND me. 😛
  16. My vote is no *UNLESS* you have something it can stack with. Otherwise, it's just not worth it. So, a dark defender with Maneuvers and Combat Jumping has significant defense right there. Add Weave. Get some IO's. Etc. Also, plan ahead. With some of the ancillary or patron pools, you can get SERIOUS resistance or defense. My empathy defender has just under 50% S/L resist. Personally, I think every one of my tanks and brutes has the fighting pool. Hardly any of my other characters have it.
  17. You are correct in that they were telling you a load of bull. Not everyone uses Discord. On most pick-up groups, no one will be on Discord. It sounds like you ended up on a team with a group who usually play together, or are in the same supergroup. Personally, I'll be on Discord when I play with my brother and his family since I live 1100 miles away from them. When some groups run Incarnate trials, they like everyone to be on Discord to hear instructions (mic not required). When I'm playing CoH, I am NOT on Discord probably 95% of the time. Get yourself a headset so you can join people on Discord and *TYPE* to them that you have a sleeping baby so you can't talk. With Discord and Zoom becoming more popular, you'll want a headset at some point. Note the distinction between 'headphones' and 'headset'. A headset has a mic. Headphones do not.
  18. Way too spammy. I SOMETIMES announce my AoE buffs that have long cooldowns. Mostly, I just try to get near most of the team and fire it off. If we're about to fight an AV or giant monster, I'll tell everyone to gather for buffs since we would likely have multiple buffers.
  19. It's exactly the opposite. You used to need to do damage for full credit and that disadvantaged 'healers', so the system was changed to evenly distribute the rewards across the team. I'll also extend an offer to team. Most of my characters are on Everlasting and I do all sorts of content there. However, I also have a scrapper on Indomitable and a tank on Excelsior that I want to level and I don't know as many people on those shards. My global is @Ironblade so you can send a friend request, email, etc.
  20. And I'd reply with, "Why do you ask?" 😛
  21. How long ago is "just"? I hit 58 in June. 😛
  22. You'd be surprised. Regina Pizzeria in the Boston area does decent calamari. Turner's Seafood (which is expensive) does excellent calamari.
  23. Back on live, someone sent me a tell asking me if I wanted to join a Citadel TF. I replied, "No thanks." They replied that, since I was in an MMO, it was my duty to team with people.
  24. Yes, pretty sure ZorkNemesis understood you perfectly. As he pointed out, any mission that grants a badge itself, does *NOT* count for Ouroboros challenge badges. I believe the arc you're describing is "The Hydra Dimension" from Tina McIntyre. That arc awards the Multidimensional exploration badge. Therefore, the arc is not eligible for Ouro challenge badges. P.S. The flashback challenge badges are working perfectly. I have about a third of them so far.
