  1. I hadn't heard of either of these two games, prior to your post. Looking at each game, it seems (to me, at least) like City of Titans is dead in the water. Ship of Heroes seems to have a pretty structured and active development and PR team, though, so it may yet reach the finish line. I think if either of the games is released to the public and, if they are good games, they will attract a loyal base of players. There are dozens and dozens of fantasy and sci-fi mmos on the market, but only a handful of super hero rpgs. People that love that genre want more choices to scratch the itch, and competition is never a bad thing IMO.
  2. Looks cool. I love that character.
  3. I approve of the muscle car bat mobile. Maybe I can fast-forward through the parts were Pattinson has the mask off, so that I can forget it's Pattinson under the mask. Maybe. Why didn't we get to see the Riddler? Or was that guy with messed up face supposed to be him?
  4. Not as wowed by it, myself. I still haven't seen Shazam yet, though. It's the humor and camp elements I like the most about the marvel movies, though, and the grim seriousness of the DC movies that tends to turn me off (The first Nolan Batman movie, being the exception. Didn't like the one with Bane and the one with Heath Ledger Joker, though). All the jokes, etc. Why I read comic books in my youth, honestly. Different tastes and what not.
  5. This spirit of fun and generosity is just one more reason why CoH is greatest online gaming community of them all. πŸ‘
  6. It's because ninjas are sneaky. πŸ˜„
  7. Most likely nothing, because I would probably die of shock/heart attack, after learning that I had won that much money. πŸ˜›
  8. Glad you found an AT that you love playing! I quite like blasters, myself, but I understand the mez vulnerability can be too frustrating for some. As DreadShinobi pointed out, there are various ways to mitigate this, but if you don't want to futz with it then Sentinels are a great choice (albeit, with less damaging attacks).
  9. The thing is, it's in such a weird, isolated place. It's marked on the map, of course, but still. It seems like it would be hard to justify our small development team spending their time on something this obscure. To be fair, that's not my call. Just airing my opinion here. As I said, if the devs wanted to spruce the place up or do something else with it, I certainly have no objections.
  10. Arachnos. Coolest Rides. Coolest Uniforms. A Capitol City that looks like a Sith Temple. πŸ‘
  11. Never been there and went to check it out. It's just an empty warehouse with laser lights. Even decorated, I can't see how it's an interesting venue compared to Pocket-D. Also, there are approximately 1,500,272,981,000 Player base clubs, each with a distinct aesthetic that look better than both of them. I'm not against the place getting spiffed-up, mind you. I just personally don't see the appeal. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing you have to be a player from Live (which I'm not) to really understand. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  12. I haven't gotten very far with my Archery/Trick Arrow blaster (lvl 27) but, so far, I've been surprised at how fun and rewarding this build has been for me. I'm used to playing blappers, so going for pure shooty was a bit of a hard sell for me, but trick arrow has enough cool gimmicks to keep play fresh and interesting. My opinion could change once I get to 50, of course. We'll just have to wait and see.
  13. I sell everything at 1 insp. Things that have actual demand/value (i.e. that go for half a million to several millions) I will typically get a nice chunk of the asking price for. For example, if an orange enhancement is going for 5 million, I can sell it at 1 insp. and I'll typically get anywhere from 3 to 5 million for the inspiration. I hate bothering with the market. It's boring and has nothing to do with the super hero game that I like to play. However, I do need to acquire large sums of cash to buy the enhancements I like to slot on my characters. The solution, for me, is to list everything at 1 insp. It doesn't require me to futz with the market and I get in and out with my cash and back to doing the things I like.
  14. @Black Talon Zhym's links are what you need. πŸ‘
  15. Yeah, it's pretty ugly. Ties with Ice armor as goofiest looking armor set, perhaps.
  16. Poo tanker is a Bio-Armor tanker with Carapace turned on. πŸ˜„
  17. My post wasn't directed at you specifically, but at "you", the people that do these things and then complain about RP on an RP server. I just wanted to clarify that, lest you think I was singling you out.
  18. Loved most everything they've done so far, with a few exceptions. Also, there's Star Wars. It would take a lot for the Mouse to alienate me, at this point. They've just done so much to win me over. As will all things, time will tell.
  19. I do get where you're coming from. Here's the thing, though: 1) The play experience is already great for the casual player. If you want to enjoy a non-optimized play experience at the low to mid (hell, even higher levels, to some extent, if you don't take incarnate powers and load up on the IO sets), there's already tons of content to accommodate that. 2) The MegaPowerMen of the game haven't got much, apart from the AE 801 content. This goes to hard in the other direction for me (and others, I would suppose), plus frankly (from an RP/story perspective) lacks any engaging appeal to me as a player. 3) Since most of the players in this game are running incarnates (or will quickly get there, after joining), PUG's you join will be comprised mostly of these, SG's you join (RP or otherwise) will be comprised mostly of these, and so the largest groups of players lack game content that is truly challenging for them. This could be solved by chucking IO sets and incarnate powers from the game. I would heartily endorse this solution, personally, as I mainly just want to be able to play with the full power suite of an upper 40's to lvl 50 character. You aren't going to sell that solution to the rest of the player base, though, so the answer is to introduce new content to challenge the MegaPowerMen.
  20. I don't dual box (although I have no objections to it. Just too lazy to make a second account). I've never tried to chase those particular badges, regardless.
  21. I neither object to the idea, nor endorse it. It just doesn't interest me, per-say. As an aside, I noticed you mentioned exploits in your OP. I wouldn't worry about that. What can can you possibly exploit in a game where everything is free and all players have equal access to the same things? Who could possibly be disenfranchised, with regard to play enjoyment/experience, when we all get access to the same powers/items/upgrades? The game should have a variety of content that will challenge full 8-person teams that make skillful use of all available options. If it doesn't, what's the point of having all of those options available in the first place?
  22. Okay, you got me there, amigo. πŸ˜›
  23. I just find it ridiculous that players gripe about RP on the server that is RP-focused. You didn't know it was an RP server when you joined? Okay, maybe you should have spent 5 minutes reading the forums/discord and inform yourself before choosing the server. Also, maybe you should quit bitching and just switch to a different server, since you can do that for free. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  24. Regardless of the pros and cons, this makes the OP's suggestion irrelevant.
  25. Well, don't misunderstand me. I'm not imply any kind of malfeasance or malevolent intent to people that ask to receive the star (although, yes- there are those rare gems that get huffy about it, if you decline). I'm just saying that if you're shooting for a (just as an example) lvl 35 taskforce team play experience, having a level 50 join and take the star ruins that experience.
