  1. *looks* I know I *did* talk about Ice benefiting from the +def and res IOs (and indeed any IOs)..but those 3 builds you posted are all tricked out to hell. Not quite a fair comparison, when Wp (easily the best combo def/res/regen) gains so so much from IOs. In my experience, I have seen many many tanks faceplant vs LR, ones with no IOs and ones with loads. Sure, Titan Weapons is being sorta nerfed due to its tricked out performance (I say sorta, because the changes look to be helping non IOd builds too)..but should that happen in every case? If WP and Invul on tanks is so good, we better nerf them back to the performance of Ice! Or..improve Ice in some way. Which I was never against..just against giving it non themeatic stuff (in my view of the theme of course).
  2. You can do some of them as AVs. I know for a fact that BS can be upgraded to an AV. Not sure about Recihs, Requiem or the Sentinel.
  3. I havent played Ice enough to really have suggestions. But at no point was I saying anything cant be done. I was saying Ice should not get Psi defence..just because. We have already agreed most psi attacks have a Typed component. See below: ..If it doesnt matter anyway, why bother doing it? You also go on (fairly) about how any def matters, which it does. With IOs and pool powers, ice can get to around 15% to psi (2 uniques, weave, stealth, manuvers)..which again, you said it..aint nothing. It is a HUGE increase in fact, to the literally no psi def ice starts with. The set could use Love..or.. shoring up holes? Should every set be lacking holes full stop? Why should a Defence based set also get resists? Aside from Granite armour (which has huge issues) and some sets like WP, Invul (resist and def..but again, no psi) most sets do one or the other. Look at SR and Nin..two defence based sets with next to no resists (normally). Should those suddenly get resists too? In summary..not every set needs to do everything awesomely.
  4. Feedback and suggestions sure..but what percentage of suggestions GET used in game? I have seen some amazing ideas, and had some myself that I totally think the game NEEDS, but no one ever agrees on one thing. Look at the recent Energy Melee changes on Test..people are still gonna say that prefer the old version, no matter what. Sure it would be nice if Ice had psi def..but does it need it? May as well say it would be nice if Invul had Psi Res. Both things go against the theme (as I see it, and arguably the original design).
  5. Sadly..that is impossible. People will NEVER agree eye to eye on theme or balance. Far too late to change the main themes of powersets! I guess the psi hole was far less of an issue years back. Now with the IDF around, there are way more psi attacks in play.
  6. I just read this post and tried it on my Demons/Dark. Incarnate powers but no iPets. 54 seconds. Weee! I'd imagine it would be even better stacknig the -res whip attacks (which I don't have).
  7. You forgot STone Armour (easy to do, lol). That get s a lot of Psi def (maybe the best in game?) but the set is a pile of crap. Literally. Also most psi attacks (ok a decent amount) come with a Typed component too, so Ice Armour still has def to those (psi/smash attacks, etc). Is 5% psi def, for those pure psi attacks gonna make all that much difference? Thematically, it makes sense I think..you use Ice to defend yourself, and a psi attack goes right through and targets your mind.
  8. That's a fair point. But given the choice between mobs standing still and running..I am going for still ones every time. I HATE runners with a passion, especially when they run for silly reasons, like an AV being scared by a Rain of Fire, ticking for 1 damage a time, that would not even come close to counting his regen.
  9. Hmm. It is interesting. If we had increased aggro caps but NO incease in aoe no. of targets..that seems pretty pointless to me. Sure, mobs wont be standing around, but a team wont be ABLE to even hurt that other mobs (barring judgements and perhaps a team of tankers).. Yes, it would make a fight more 'realistic' (cause..realism is so important in a game with super powers) but little else. It would make things harder in fact, with an extra X baddies shooting at you. Of course, some people may like that, but if a team isn't dying with 2-3 mobs, they most likely wont to 5-6. When would the multiple mobs actually come into play? More ambushes? Bigger ambushes? One of the biggest ambushes I can think of in in Renault SF, when Cida and CO show up, but even then, it is basically one mob at a time. Making it more may just make it stupidly hard for some teams. Back to your point about mobs not standing around..You would enjoy it. Others would too. And still others would just hate it, or NEVER actually experience it. How many teams, even full incarnate teams, try to herd 4+ mobs to a single spot? Even in a full League, I have literally NEVER seen it. Some of the iTrials have HUGE mobs, like Magi (the guards right at the front) or Underground (the last fight, room full of DE) true...but those mobs are SO damn huge, no team would stand back and say 'Hang on guys, with no aggro cap, I can herd the next two rooms also!' Ok, a team may do that, but it would be rare, and you can bet people would get bored waiting and Leroy ahead anyway. I just don't see the point of a higher aggro cap being relevant in enough situations. Unless target caps went up too, which would be fun, but not needed. In regard to mobs standing about: I saw this video on YouTube. Part of the GQ series where an expert comes in and goes over movies scenes. This one was featuring an MMA fighter, talknig about various fight scenes. He made a good point, that when fighting multiple people (in movies), like 70% of the guys (say 1 vs 10) will be on the edge of combat, floating about, trying to 'look' busy. They do that, so every fight doesnt just end up a stacks on pile, such as Neo Vs 1000000 Smiths. So in that regard..the extra mob standing by doing nothing (ok, ok, they could at least LOOK active) is pretty spot on. If the mob did pile in (due to raised aggro caps), that would look pretty silly too, as you get covered in baddies, but without the ability to BURST out like Neo did.
  10. Not that this is a bad suggestion at all (in fact it makes sense to me)..but..since coming back to CoX, I have done literally..under 10 radio/paper missions. That is over 50 odd alts, most getting to 50. There is just SO many story arcs too do, the only time I do radios/papers is to get mayhem and bank mission temps.
  11. The Tot costumes are pretty cool and thematic (I love the PP one) but they don't really 'do' anything, besides getting the tip mission. What about giving each a stealth component, vs that particular mob? It makes sense that dressing as a crey agent (or whatever) would make Crey mobs at least think twice before just opening up on you. That would give the costumes a use, outside of the event itself!
  12. There are a few that are kinda opposite. They TELL you to kill all, but in fact it is just the 'boss rooms.' Two missions in the Hess TF are like this.
  13. I gotta say I agree after looking back at all the new tp and base powers coming in. After a year and a half, WHY does it matter, honestly? That really only applies to Pvp or Master tf runs. And could simply be stopped in both instances.
  14. Ok, it was coming. The Base tp 'fix.' But now it is here, I really really REALLY hope some of teh more obnoxious TFs will be looked at, in regards to the stupid amount of travel. Citadel, Numi, to a lesser extent some of the Redside SFs, ALL the shard ones. Update mission locations, perhaps all the the same zone (Yin, Tarikoss) etc etc, Put the 'old' tfs into Oro, so the people who seem to love traversing teh entire city for a TF can still do so.

  16. Just went to Test to have a play. Made an Em/rad scrapper. It does play much much better. Will do some more messing about, but it looks like a winner!
  17. I was sorta excited to see the changes. Just reading through ( havent been to test yet).. Stun replaced with..an aoe cone stun? Um. Sure, its better..but..still minor damage? Does teh stalker version (if stalkers get it, I forget) at LEAST get more damage, to make up for no Aoe? ET STILL a long animation. Sorry, this kills the set already for me. Two long animations, even if TF is faster. No thanks.
  18. Although great, this is an AWFUL idea. The blaster secs are already really skewed, and giving ONE set kb prot just seems..wrong. The fact ToB now buffs you, even IF you miss..tells me how awful the power was, when compared to all the other blaster auto sustains. Why not just tie it into an auto somehow? I admit, I havent even taken this power on my DP/MA blaster..because when I tried it back on Original Test, it was god awful. Just SO bad. And now the stun is even worse? Perhaps someone who uses teh power has an opinion.
  19. It DOES do -rech. A huge 300% according to Mids. The -end is really really not the point of the power. It is YOUR +recovery that makes the power great. The extra -res is gravy. Not that I'd complain, but you can already get that power Perma. Lower rech would push it into OP fulcrum kinda territory. Again..really? Are support sets meant to have powers that dont require hasten? Don't get me wrong, I dont disagree with your points, but OG and CS should be far far down on the list of support t9s that need to be looked at.

  21. I don't know. I'd take a good emp over a good pain any day. Admittedly, 90% of emps (in my opinion) flat out suck. Also..topic is about T9s. lol. While sorta similar (in healing) Emp and PD aren't that close. PD is more attacking focuessed, hence the +damage. ANd being a corruptor set. As well as a far newer powerset.
  22. All the support tier 9s are overshadowed by Fulcrum Shift. Behind that are Chrono Shift and Overgrowth. Even comparing those best 3, FS is just..SO much better. Perfect with 4 (or even ONE slot, at a push), the only 'down' side is no IO options. Onto the other sets.. Cold Dom and Heat Loss is also great, but HL has a much longer Rech than OG. Same rech as CS, but Chrono is buffed by itself. Dark Servant is good, but I feel the extra control powers arent 'as' good in a set with a lot of soft control anyway, More damage? Elec, Empathy and Pain Dom: Very similar tier9s. I think they are all good powers, just single target, with valid reasons. Storm: Nice pet..but..it could really use a bigger target cap (4?!) and make it follow you instead of being static. Rad: EMP. I am sure some people like this.but to me, a long rech aoe hold, on a mob that is already crippled by my debuffs? AND also kills my end. Yeah no thanks. Therm: Melt Armour is good..but could use a shorter rech. Maybe a damage dot too. Sonic: Liquefy IS great. A smaller rech and it would be amazing. Trick Arrow: See Rad. But the hold is a bit more useful, in a set with no real -to hit. Force Field: Way too situational. Traps. 9 sec cast time? Get lost! Poison: Good! Much better than on MM's. Just wish the set had an aoe splash heal for yourself too. Traps
  23. I just wish the event had better info, on what to do. I know what to do, but if EVERY single league I have been in, there is always a good 5 versions on what do to, where to kill monsters, what order to do it in, etc etc. Info could be shown on login, or when 'near' a banner. Anything to cut down the confusing. I have seen a lot of people quit the event leagues after no one can agree on the process.
  24. You keep a portion of the defence. In regard to stealth powers. That is not the same as keeping all of it. Cause having to turn a power (that is providing benefits of any kind) OFF, simply because hostages seem to be all set up differently, is bloody annoying. If you have to ask why it is annoying, look back to Issue Whatever Invul, where the mez toggle rooted you. May as well say people should just have put up with that and taken teleport instead.
  25. Not sure about the Giant Slot machine..since you never fight anything like that. The far more obvious (to me) would be a Wailer Invasion event, led by a GIANT Wailer King/Lord. That would fit the zone far better.
