The GoG Galaxy client will also track hours for you. Run the launcher from it and it tracks the hours as long as the launcher is running, how I use it anyway. Not perfect, but it is still interesting, not sure I want to say how big a number it is showing my hours played is already. And I love how GoG Galaxy lets me track and run ALL my games across all the different services (steam, uplay, origin, etc.) all from one spot, so I'm a fan anyway. Note that I'm still using Tequila, haven't tried it with the new launcher. I'll have to try it when I have some time.

Yep, need a hold (for non-AV's) and/or an immobilize (for AV's) to really make use of it. Debating on the build I'm working on creating whether or not to grab electric mastery epic for electric fence. Charged armor is one of the better armor powers anyway so not a big sacrifice. You have entangling arrow at least (trying to build an AR/dark for mine). Trying to get more than 1 in the patch is going to be hard no matter what as it is tiny. The other weird thing that I believe is a text error for the power description are the damage figures for the power. It has a weird double damage entry for blasters and defenders (with slightly different numbers) that I don't believe is accurate as to its true damage. Corrupters have a double entry as well, but that is typical for the scourge damage to show up and for them the numbers are the same twice in their case. So corrupters seem to not have this error as otherwise for them it'd be a triple listing of damage tics (the two "normal ones" and the one for scourge. I did a little testing using an unslotted ignite at level 40 against an even level freakshow using petrifying gaze to hold them in place for the entire 10 seconds of the ignite. Defender and corrupter seem to do about the same damage with it (which is about right including solo vigilance buff). They both seemed to have a few tics at a higher damage value that quickly went to the lower damage value. So, it is a very confusing power to me. But overall I think there is some errors in the in-game description of the actual damage numbers, but likely just a text error. Mids seems to agree and seems to have the more accurate numbers as it lists ignite for defender doing 161 damage at level 50, as opposed to the in-game number that shows 384! Mids says ignite for a corrupter does 380 while in-game it shows 372. For corrupters both obviously are including full scourge, and yet also slightly still off, so in game I think it isn't showing those weird slightly more damaging few tics that occur early.

And here you go (although it is of just live play, not anything focused necessarily) https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/City of Heroes/videos/all https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/City of Heroes Twitch City of Heroes category actually has 2,800 live viewers at the moment of this post, which is the highest I've ever seen. -

I guess that's where different experiences come in. The very rare times it has ever been brought up in the groups I've played in (usually PuG's of random levels running normal missions, radios, or Task Force), it has never really been an issue. I can only remember a handful of times at most where anyone even brought it up. But the few times it was, as long as it was asked politely, people tend to go along with whatever. If they really hate it they drop group after a mission or two. On most task forces honestly it is even less an issue as those are typically sped and ghosted so much and are done at lower difficulties just to speed even faster, mobs just melt in seconds no matter what anyone does. Most of the time people split up and attack different groups on missions that can't be ghosted so you can head the opposite way from the controllers if you want. ITF is probably the only one that I see people generally running at max difficulty and sometimes trying to do kill alls on. And my experience with ITF is controls don't even work that well on it as most of the mobs have mez protection. -
Glad to see you want to stick with it. My suggestion would be Defense inspirations (the purple ones called "luck"). They can be of great help for the tough fights. You can stack them. Taking 3 of the little ones at a time will make you very hard to hit even with no other defenses. 4 will be enough to put you past the defense soft cap so most things at that point will only have the minimum chance to hit you. You can buy them many places, but the nurses stationed in hospitals in each zone are a good place. They are only 50 inf a piece. If you come up against something that sends you to the hospital, stop at the nurse on the way out and load up on them (and maybe a couple of break frees if enemies do things like keep stunning you). You can also try the auction house for bigger ones if you can afford it (you only need 2 of the medium sized purple ones, "Good Lucks" at a time). Inspirations alone are enough to get you through a lot this game has to throw at you. Think of them like potions in more fantasy oriented games, but use them, don't hoard them.

Been gone for a long time. - Ranged pets stay at range now?

Welcome back 😎 -
I'll throw in a mention for bots/storm. Storm has the damage it is famous for, but lacks -regen, so bots nicely gives you both. Storm in particular gives you good extra single target damage (or very small radius AoE), which bots is somewhat lacking in. You can get them solid defense with steamy mist, the ATO's, maneuvers, and the protector bubbles, and then the mist also gives extra resistance to fire and energy (two of the more common types) and cold (meh). Edit: I fogot to add, bots like to stay at range so using hurricane as a shield can work very well. Storm gives you an extra power to slot pet sets (tornado)! I believe it is the only secondary that does this? (with the weirdness that dark servant doesn't let you). That makes the build a lot easier. I would suggest an epic pool with it that has an aoe immobilize as it can get crazy (good or bad depending on preferences/situation). But with bots I tend to go for that anyway to help keep things in their missile patches. It is also late blooming as both sets get a lot more powerful in the 30's. (that would be a con of course).

My comment acknowledges the reality that the slow and the debuffs it carries are inseparable. -

They already used to do that. But the big bugaboo seems to have moved on from knockbacks now to aoe immobilizes. Was kind of my point when I half joked they'd move on to slows as their next villain. And then the person responded to me seriously about it basically saying those were worthless powers. Yes, those slows like freezing rain and tar patch that actually significantly increase the kill speed of the entire team, those are worthless and slow down "da herding!" so should just "remain unused on my bar". 🙄 -

Don't want to put words in their mouth, but I take it as this is blown up as an issue in the forums way more than it is actually a real issue in game. Only time I tend to see it with any frequency in the real game is on low level teams when the controller doesn't have a lot of powers to use and is probably inexperienced. Then you get the classic "throw an aoe immobilize on the mob and then die" as they take the alpha. Or In the real game if people do want to play a certain way (and especially if they are team lead), they tend to ask politely in team chat something like, "Wait a moment for mobs to gather a bit before controls", and the rest of the team goes "sure". And that's as much drama as you get. We visit the forums for the real drama. -

My plant/dark controller has three different uncontrollable pets that have aoe immobilizes. 😀 Only way I can stop them is to try and hang pretty far back at the start of a fight (which I will make an effort to do if it seems that kind of team). -

Teams in this game can do just fine without any particular member, powers, or particular playstyle. -

Yep, that works for me. I never throw an aoe power out of there of any sort unless I know I can take the return heat and I believe it is an effective use of that power. I've gone over this in the other numerous threads on this topic that in the beginning I will hold off a bit before throwing controls out there. You know what, quite often in teams it doesn't matter as no one actually does try to "gather" the mobs or everyone is off "gathering" their own little groupings. If I waited for someone on the team to "gather" all the mobs I'd be sitting there all day doing nothing. So, on those teams I quickly stop waiting. Anyway, there's already been two other threads I've seen just recently (one long running but still going) on this topic both here and in the controller forum itself, hence the dead horse meme at the top. -

Bonus points for adding in fears and sleeps. I figured for sure slows were the next one on the complain list. They are clumping together too slowly, don't use slows! 😉 -
What's the best blaster for soloing past lv50 in your opinion?
Riverdusk replied to JORGE MARRTIN's topic in Blaster
And I totally disagree with that sentiment. It took me a long time to realize that just trying to go with/find the "most uber" didn't lead to my long term satisfaction with a character. So, I don't believe an answer like that is as obvious as it seems and is a perfectly valid response. Especially when the initial question was as vague as it was. Now if the original poster had asked "which one has the best aoe damage?" or something similiar I'd have understood your response a bit more. And telling someone they shouldn't post? Yeah, maybe don't do that please. -
It also makes ice armor underperform somewhat. All that cold resistance (and slow resistance) it has that doesn't really do a whole lot the vast majority of the time.

Disable Destiny Incarnate (Barrier) visuals?
Riverdusk replied to Autumn's topic in General Discussion
You can recolor it though. From what I remember you can tone it down quite a bit if you go for the usual "bright" option and then the dark grey type colors. Course that doesn't help if other people cast it on you I know, but that'd be the same even with a minFX option. -
Big part of it for me. Even taking out the long animation time for RI, the radiation debuff toggles radius are so tiny (15'). I always end up comparing it unfavorably to darkest night which is a nice 25'. It's still a nice set, but I always felt it best on a controller where you can better "control" things and make easier use of those tiny radius powers that are such a big part of the set.

There's an option to disable screen shake in game, should work for that issue., check out game options. Unless you mean you like screen shake except in that one instance.

How do you use 2XP boost from the P2W vendor?
Riverdusk replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
I mostly use it at higher levels, but not because of inf. Lower levels go by so fast anyway and I like to make sure I hit all the bank missions on the way up and open up at least a few contacts/do a few story arcs (Hollows/Striga for instance). With double xp in the early levels you move so fast you end up skipping by the content too fast for my taste. At higher levels that isn't an issue anymore as levels slow way down. To follow up, I do think it would have been a better poll with just "Sometimes - I use it at higher levels" You did not give a qualifier on any other option, so not sure why you did for that one option. I went ahead and picked that one even though it is only half true for me due to your qualifier.
