[Beta] Patch Notes for October 2nd, 2022
Jacke replied to Faultline's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
It is a pain that I can't be logged into both a Homecoming Live Shard and the Beta Shard Brainstorm at the same time. -
[Beta] Patch Notes for October 2nd, 2022
Jacke replied to Faultline's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
It's working right now off of the Quick Chat button. For easier use, I have '[' bound to "viewattribute" and ']' bound to 'popmenu freebiesmenu' and both work. /bind [ viewattributes /bind ] popmenu freebiesmenu -
Arctic Mastery's Block of Ice is also a hold and can be slotted in the same way as Pyre Mastery's Char, so it could have the Chance for +Absorb proc too. However, as @Hyperstrike pointed out above, the greater range of Block of Ice isn't likely to matter for a Tanker. And Char does cast faster than Block of Ice.
-
I have issues with that too. I have another question. A number of Tanker builds I've seen include Pyre Mastery's Char, I think mostly to slot the Superior Entomb in a 5 or 6-set for the IO bonuses. Why not Arctic Mastery's Block of Ice? It does have a longer cast time, Arcanatime 2.112s vs. 1.32s,, but it also has a 60ft range instead of Char's 50ft. Besides these and Cold Damage versus Fire Damage, they're very much the same.

Shouldn't that be Ageless Radial for the DDR?
-
Now being franchised? Soon to have several Bamboo Kat's in every zone?

On my gaming laptop from ~2012, all 3 sound settings are only ever at 1, 2, or 3. Only ever get higher, to maybe 5, when I'm glowie hunting (and that's with a replacement glowie sound).

Totally unrelated, but pre-Shutdown, I had a Dark/Energy Tanker in Kings Row who got a few Skulls after him in an ambush. Turned into a Benny Hill sequence with me running him around between all my contacts quickly grabbing up more Inspirations as he whittled down the Skull mob.

I know a guy, who knows a guy, who said Freedom Corps had a pre-fab building. So they actually blew up the AE building real good, then 5 minutes later (it's really pre-fab) there was the Freedom Corps building.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Ice Control Changes
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Why make another power complex with 2 different effects with different footprints? I really don't see giving both the Slow and the Fear effects the same footprint as an excessive buff. And as a cone attack with a ~30s recharge, Cold Snap will not be used as a melee attack but as an approach attack. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Ice Control Changes
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
@Captain Powerhouse, everytime there's a complexity added to a power, it becomes more burdensome to use, as the power is no longer a simple cone or TgtAoE or whatever. You may do that to balance the power to your best judgement, but in doing so you add an mental burden to the players who have to remember all that to guide their tactics. As others have shown, Ice Control both before and after these changes is an underperforming Control set and giving it more complexity makes it less attractive. Don't say melee, because a ranged power for melee use should be a TgtAoE, for flexibility. A cone is a ranged attack, because one with a recharge like Cold Snap, the toon should be backed off from the mobs before using it again. Ideally, it's used once on approach and the mobs are defeated before moving on to the next group of mobs. I strongly suggest to you to make Cold Snap a simple cone--or even better, a simple TgtAoE. A cone with one range and one arc for all its effects, or as a TgtAoE one range and one radius. Make the effects whatever you think that such a power should have, but keep it simple, not complex. -
issue 27 Issue 27, Page 4: General Feedback
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
As these aren't attacks and only the last one ("screenshot") does anything active (the first one just changes a state value), there's no problem with chaining these 2 commands. I've used those keybinds for years without problem. Yes, it would work with 3 keybinds as you've laid out, but that isn't necessary. Two keybinds work every time. -

In my keybinds file, this is what I've had for years. F12 "screenshotui 0$$screenshot" CTRL+F12 "screenshotui 1$$screenshot" F12 for screenshots without the UI, CTRL+F12 for screenshots with the UI. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Attack Typing Adjustments
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I don't think so. I don't have number of mob and player powers to hand, but it appears that well over 15 to 20 of each, as well as several enemy groups, have been changed for this. That's not "a few attacks". I think @kingsmidgens has the better appreciation of the impact. -
AE Vet Levels -or- Empyrean to Reward Merits
Jacke replied to Troo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's more of an Inner Oval ATM. A few Secret Meetings back I hear the Inner Circle got pranged and it's never been the same. -
AE Vet Levels -or- Empyrean to Reward Merits
Jacke replied to Troo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think a per-20-hour limited rate of conversion of Empyrean Merits to Reward Merits would be the best solution. Keeps post-50 XP for Veteran Levels and allows limited conversion of Empyrean Merits to give flexibility to players who want to convert them. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Toggle Suspension and Suppression
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
That's why I have Toggle Turnon Macros for all my toons. +S (in a tray slot keybound to S) to activate stealth powers and +F (in a tray slot keybound to F) to activate fighting protection powers. There's just a few different +S macros, but the +F macros are tuned to the powersets (Primary, Secondary, Epic) of the toon and include common Pool powers. Each press of the macro turns on one power; just press it several times over a few seconds to get them all back. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Toggle Suspension and Suppression
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
It doesn't always happen, so I'd really like to see that lockout time be 4s or less. But @ForeverLaxx has a good point. Things are often balanced on a knife-edge that getting Mezzed is often death. Which brings us back to Mez. Mez is the problem, binary in many ways. Many ATs can almost ignore Mez, some can handle it, but to most ATs it's a death threat. And to those ATs, Mez usually does nothing until it removes all agency. And the player better get out of Mez fast and hope they can deal with things going wrong before they die. In other words, Mez needs fixing. Soon. Please make that a priority. -

Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
That shouldn't be happening as Voltaic Sentinel should stay right by the toon. Perhaps submit a bug report, regular or beta depending on where it's happening. -

Due to range or line-of-sight, I think. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Toggle Suspension and Suppression
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The toggle suppression for Granite Armor toons and Kheldians are excellent and definitely should go into the release of Page 4. Post-Mez Offensive Toggle Suppression is another matter entirely. People bring up Mez because it's Mez that causes Post-Mez Offensive Toggle Suppression. (It's too bad at least starting on fixing Mez isn't on the table this Page.) A 8s suppression is not a Quality of Life change. It's a massive nerf. Especially considering how @Luminara thoroughly pointed out above how weak debuffs are compared to buffs. Especially because the characters providing debuffs are very vulnerable to Mez and will be facing this nerf a lot. If this 8s suppression can't be seriously reduced, to at most 4s or less, then I suggest you drop Post-Mez Offensive Toggle Suppression from Page 4 completely. Because the better Quality of Life selection here is to have the toggles drop and after the Mez toggle them on again, which will happen in a lot less time than 8s. With the toggles the players consider most important be toggled on first. -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Costumes
Jacke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Oh noahs! They're going to plaid! Liking the costume suggestions here. 🙂 -
Empyrean Merits make it much easier to craft T3 and T4 Incarnate Boosts. Getting the Rare and Very Rare Incarnate Salvage needed for T3 and T4 in drop tables isn't very common. Instead, they're usually made by direct conversion from Empies.
