Water, water everywhere, but what AT you think?
Marshal_General replied to Marshal_General's topic in General Discussion
I finally went with the blaster concept. I just got my sustain power and even without IOs yet, I am finding my splash splash splash can keep on flowing. -
I wasn't going to keep it after a respec, but after seeing how many mobs like to run from me, I like the ability to injure their pride by yelling the perfect zinger at them. They come back for the beating they deserve.
-
I didn't see it mentioned, but the Unbreakable Guard resist set gives 2.5 end discount for 2 slots.

Water, water everywhere, but what AT you think?

I am already on my 3rd page of characters. My problem with the corrupter version is lack of good single target damage compared to the blaster version. -
Water, water everywhere, but what AT you think?
Marshal_General posted a topic in General Discussion
I am trying to decide between two different AT builds. One is basically an up in your face water/atomic blaster and the other is a blow off your face water/storm corrupter.. I have preliminary builds for each, but need to decide which one would work best. Then find out what can be done to make that build better. Then spend a day trying to find the perfect name....... that isn't already taken. The first build is the blaster build: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1539;711;1422;HEX;| |78DA6594DB4E13511486F7B453914385525ACED096739142D58867131551A10942A| |289A76642276592DA36508C5EFA068A1A13E5E8BD1835BE818F60D40BEFC50BD444| |8DCA4D5DCCFF539B7492F6DBFBDF7B1DF65A7B2676FB4CD5FAE8DD934A739F4E197| |373F153F29F33675D3123694D2B792A2F1B320FC4CC946996C9BC893BE293463A69| |2622F632CCBA7796A6E6B3D9CC6C2E3269242C236765D2F19891B6B2F3297BA2AA2| |632995464DC34B2563AE9B62767ADE44C4E66D53B4B0973766EC6CA56D8F3A9AC69| |268223596B3A12B323DCB4D289F8B8794BBCCF18DBDEB7C53B0D925E587E231D8A4| |FDEA59604515D3996C915505F25D7C05DCFC0E1BE82AD520705BA531D124DA33FED| |8AA047F65F05775F23AF831537C83878586C9DB0D59DEF1C4AB5EAAAEA23F901DCF| |39EDC72D839F8A5CE2E3B60DEE1FA04AD66CC09FE0047E58C65CCA94CE9B656AB91| |0EB0CE49EAA0DF059E13DB72E654FE1CE7F6AF830D2FC89760D32BF082D854C2C65| |9E9450E4D3EB0A58EF483E765AF9B3574F7C3FEA8D4A11A6752D5C3A8EB98ECF3F0| |0C1EF6A98D7D6A639FDAD8A700FB14609F8E893F2FFC39BD9B881BD800838F51B3E| |0027844F6FA988F8FF96852BC7A6AF5797994539446787435D66B764782FBE0B1E3| |27F98BFC0376FE058F4B84669EA4791155EE5C2297C1EE1572955C037589DB8AB87| |AAB4FB3B59E3AB286AC05A31E3026956B67BCF627C8A1EF29B9482E81E16572057C| |2D08D136F408FEC2F7C0BDF7C905F20138F0103C29E7ECE22DE89A108464ED22390| |90E4E816F244E2F3BD4CBFA0DB26E83AC63F4377842FCF6B31BFD7C0B3C529708EC| |B508EB12655DBCB236C4DB341444475BF4A237D7EE68705BC1AE7CB86475A844899| |628FB4B940325CA78B132805C26F4C2174369BC71E535852F417EB342D699BF469B| |6FC5DA259CF36BB1D68B7DDF8B35DEF4CFFE420EF98DA2F197A2F1968CA3ACC6DBD| |0FFF13F4E83F779| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| Next is the corrupter build: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1543;711;1422;HEX;| |78DA6594594F135114C7EFED4C598B0569CB56A0B6D0960285AAEF26E0121512228| |93E361319A081CED4E9D4E8A31FC12DB87C05458D88CBAB9FC385F880A282891AD1| |C48CA773FEB64D3A81FCEE9C7BB6FB3F733B7BE5B86FFDD4B56342FAA757B562313| |B6D5A56A9609B56D36CC9D6EC9C69087ABC17345BB71A6915AE3864CF69C692BE90| |76B7B253146D0F5437A74A8B8BE9795AE5B3F3A57CDE3472C692F0CD99E66A7A46D| |70AF4D6E6BE9CCC2D2DDBF4D6E2BECD17747DC1FFDF6B41B78ACBB942E444217731| |5D4D3DA35FCE69F6B2666467A9A66E5DEDA6BE46E97F2526F0385EF1401122A30AC| |F43709DA93E021F331B9E30B72585493756880FAA6BCBC760A27C72886D0DC3CCA6| |389860B624C1116688C452389FA2EC13FA5571E02F78966BB67F671A54C7CB7514E| |F53C17B1BCC83CFC1674C937C1BD957348EB26D87EA34732D4F7350BAB640006C67| |1628AE15355A835C3714023B99DD01A6A4026DA8D1E6D0233E53123F2C7E54BD441| |93BD8A676AC114889EE3BCCDEBBE03D66F83EF30BE5E9E44EBD9D5039FCCAE372E0| |05F812DC644636980A7515446CB04BBA4A460E73C7917DE6A19FE00FF037A64DB15| |D50A80B0AC5A0500C0A45C9A7877D640FCE18032D3A6B1FD4EBC3848636414C2883| |0975509E7ED4EA47AD21D48AA35691F20D42BB41E48B63E271E449207F02F977293| |48A98E896C73D7FE23D73E41DF81684B67B14338C9861CC288519A530A314663486| |19AD9264497CB949E838067DC7A0EFF82FE68AC237AFEC3B7A8BCF367E1BBCC99CB| |8CE34C8378D5ED26FB8CF09F43F81BE33384706E7DBF2093189EF6E12B308AB955B| |4E7FE5AF33556799ACB364EA2C47EA2C47EB2CA7CB165916C371666A7793DCCB9C5| |AF9851012FD35B7D3CD679BF3B505E1E5FD71DEDFABDAA43CCFDAF8CE4857FBDD5A| |7FD4F856EBBFC677C17783B91DAAF4E47CAC597FAA59F706C895E39D3FA1EAFA75B| |4BAFE07AA20016B| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| What do you think about each. I wanted to make something with the /atomic set and finally settled on water. Since I would almost always be in melee range, I wanted to be able to survive there and cut down or out cone attacks so I skipped steam spray though it is good and I have enough attacks as it is. Maybe to many. I wanted to make a build that is fun, different and maybe, just maybe sure me of my altitist so that I can finally get a character to 50. Anyways this is the build. Using the giant pumpkin head, make a magic origin character. Doctor Streng, The Pumpkin Supreme. -
It looks to have way too much yellow in a couple of the shots. Blindingly so.

They first thing I do when planning a build is look at the recharge of the powers I want. If I don't see anything that has a large recharge that I will need up as fast as possible, then I skip hasten. It all depends on my goals for the build. For dominators, I cannot make one without trying for perma Dom whether I need it or not.
-
This is, of course, a good point. Then again, defense debuffs are not the only debuffs that are overabundant in the 35+ game. My regen scrapper is my Citadel, Synapse, and Trad Sister Psyche farmer. Trying to make her fun to play while running ITFs or incarnate content would require expenses that ain't cost-effective. She buys the recipes my mains need. She will eventually make it to 50, but now that she's 36 she can run all the content she's made for. I've considered turning off her XPs to make her farm inf as well, now that the value of inf has an effective floor. I still think that the long range trend at the AH is inflationary and that inf will be a poorer store of value than merits. The defense also reduces the incidence of other crap like -recharge, which also tends to kill regen and resistance based scrappers, since most of them are relying on self heals and other click powers. This also hurts Shield and Reflexes characters (and maybe Ninjutsu, which looks to me like renamed Reflexes) before they achieve the softcap and then some, since their mezz defense is a click power, pointlessly so since most players just set it to autofire. It's just an inconvenience for players of those sets. If you enjoy New Faultline, you likely want to run the Lost missions on a different character with a regular mezz resist toggle. By level 50 you probably have enough overlap, fortunately. Why this wretched excess of debuffs exists to penalize certain content choices is something of a mystery to me. Your best defense, as usual, is to do something else, a discretion I exercise on just about all of my melees. If you chose to run it, it's solo only; teaming just makes it worse. My SR brute has two slots in PB with level 25 IOS and it shows in game as recharging 1 second after it expires. That can suck, but so far hasn't.
-
I would suggest lowering your defense, you're 10% over the soft cap in Melee and AoE. Around 50% is ok for Incarnate content but anything more is too much. Isn't the incarnate softcap 59%?

I guess I see a difference in the sense that some women are very particular about how the are addressed. Would there be a difference for you if one was Miss Liberty and Mrs. Liberty? I’m not arguing just curious about your viewpoint I may be kinda old, so not in touch with current trands and modes of correct speech, but when I was growing up ( 70s/80s) Mrs is pronounced Missus, Miss is pronounced as it is spelled, and Ms is pronounced Mizz to differentiate it from Miss. Yes, it originated with the late 60 and 70s "Women's Lib" movement and intended as the feminine equivalent of Mr, which doesn't denote mariage status. Many women found it sexist that women were judged base on marital status while men weren't. And yet Miss, Ms. and Mrs does exactly that. Its a form of address that denotes marriage status, while men are only called Mr. It boggles my mind how they can complain about it and then demand that they get called something different based on the very thing they are complaining about. I call every female Miss regardless of age or martial status.

Named after my favorite Stravinsky piece. +1 influence good sir!

Just take a picture of her with you standing next to her for reference, if you can even see her amongst her groupies that crowd her, then run to Icon and talk to the person at the back to adjust your height. As long as you are below level 10, it will be free. Then you can run back and see where you stand next to her.

What's wrong with Warshades?
Marshal_General replied to Robotech_Master's topic in General Discussion
Other games have tried to figure out how to weaken, if not remove, the Trinity model. Some add more categories. At least one I've seen tried to add "support" as a 4th member of the trinity (guess it wouldn't really be a trinity then, would it). Others have tried to figure out how to make a "bring the player not the class" thing, which is what this game already is. The rest of the industry is trying to invent THIS game, where play what you want, because 5-8 characters of any type or class, played by competent players, can do 99% of the content. But, every time someone tries, the biggest complaint is 'This game isn't just like WoW and its clones, so therefore it sucks'. But then, those that have all the features are decried ans 'just another WoW clone'. This game does not need to change to be more WoW-like, somebody needs to create a fantasy MMO version of this game. There are plenty of Trinity based, WoW clone games out there. If you want a holy Trinity based game, they're out there... hell they dominate. It's harder to find one that isn't to some extent, a WoW clone (stylistically). The settings (Azeroth, Telara, Arborea, Haranya and Nuia, Calpheon and Valencia, The Galaxy far far away...), genre (fantasy, sci-fi, heroic) and situations may change, but they are all the same basic game. The thing is, the original holy trinity was tank, healer and control. Everyone was expected to dps. Then devs got lazy and turned bosses into a big bag of hit points and phased out needing control because it was too hard to plan for. -
I am looking at making this, since it seems to have some really good control options. If you take Ghost Widow you can have Abyssal Gaze, Positron Cell, Radioactive Cloud and Soul Storm all being mag 3 holds. With a Lockdown proc in all of them you could hold AVs? I know dark have two cones, but the tactic with them seems to be to fire them off to knockdown a spawn with the IO in UT, lock them down with TT and then move into melee so your auras can do their thing. Anyone have experience with this combo? What powers can be skipped? I punched what I wanted into the planner and ran out of slots before I ran out of powers that needed slots. It looks like I could skip dark blast for Negatron Slam since I will be in melee, or should I skip Moonbeam though with enough accuracy, I should be able to fire it into melee easy enough. I know I want Atom Smasher just for the animation and for a good AoE. Thats it for now. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, you can only have three tips at a time. Once you have investigated them and turned them into missions, you can get three more. -
Origin Enhancement Guide/List for Enemy Factions?
Marshal_General replied to Perma-Newbie's topic in Guides
The thing is that as soon as you can get SOs, IOs are almost as good and don't get out leveled. I usually don't bother too much with enhancements until I can slot IOs at 22. -

The important question is do they work for containment double damage? I have been wanting to hold a Tsoo Sorcerer and beat him like a red headed step child. -
That and most other gangs just want the Warriors to Come out and plaaayy!

The problem with Brawl is it's really the weakest. On a level 35 MM I tested, 4 slotted (1ACC 3Dmg SOs) Boxing and Kick were 5.42 and 5.96 times the strength of unslotted brawl against an even level Crey Infiltrator. Cross Punch was 9.02 times better than unslotted Brawl. Shouldn't slotted attacks be better than unslotted ones? How do they compare to slotted brawl? -
I was thinking about putting a KB-KD IO in my attacks, but I put a guys head into a wall and watched him just twitch until he despawned. I am not sure I can give that up.
