  1. Unfortunately, there's just too much disparity between powersets to answer that. In my head, a tank should never be able to out-damage a scrapper but my shield/em tank, with AAO fully saturated, has a better pylon time than my claws/sr scrapper, as one example, and there are many. The only way to really judge inter-AT DPS is to go full out like for like combos and identical slotting where possible. Obviously a scrapper can't slot the tanker's AT IOs. I did just that with my claws/sr scrapper/brute and sr/claws tank. Scrapper sits around 340 DPS, brute at 285, tank at 270. By comparison within an AT, my claws/bio scrapper sits at 550 DPS but can't survive nearly as well as the claws/sr.
  2. This. Ain't a blaster out there that can survive long enough to keep up with me.
  3. Lol. and correction: It's the rebirth +HP. Which in turn increases regen anyway. Further correction: Man, I must not be braining properly at all. The brute has ageless and barrier T4ed but the rebirth is only T2. Need to fix that and I see that I haven't respeced him yet either, meaning he doesn't have the heightened Nrg/Neg DR that the tank does. Ooops. The tank is running a T4 rebirth +regen.
  4. In my case, I went rebirth on the tank and brute because the added regen allows for some truly silly stuff. Stuck with barrier on the scrapper, though.
  5. What they said. Another note about SR and its scaling DR.... don't fear the yellow health bar. Hell, don't even fear it when you're dipping into the red. Ride it out. Get the feel down for when it's actually necessary for some kind of action, be it eating a green or an orange to slow things down more, or pop rebirth +regen. The more you ride that edge, the more you'll see why so many of us love SR.
  6. Regarding SR being a defense set, it's a hybrid thanks to the scaling resists. Every bit of DR you can add to the build is that much more stacking on the scaling DR and every bit of extra HP will add to the overall benefit of it. And, as mentioned, capped DDR is glorious even if your build sits at exactly 45% defense.
  7. Stalker claws is garbage, so with that properly tossed out the window, here's my take on the other three. ... I love all 3. Both the tank and brute Bills can AFK with an aggro cap's worth of Cimerorans beating on their heads and be immortal but the scrapper Bill is a whirling dervish of death dealing that will always be #1 even if he can't pull off what the tank can. I'm not sold on the proc situation when concerning claws. I did a full-tilt proc build with my claws/bio scrapper on the test server and only gained around 10 seconds for a pylon run. The loss in mitigation simply wasn't worth it. That said, Arcane's point was specifically about going proc-monster with an SR tank since it needs so little for extra mitigation and there may be something to that but I built all three of mine more or less equitably to see how they compare while doing max diff ITFs. All three can get through it without dying, but that damned autohit fluffy messes the scrapper up, makes the brute wary, while the tank just giggles and ignores it. I prefer to solo with the scrapper but the constant fleeing of enemies is often a nuisance. Even with that, though, his clear all times greatly exceed those of his tougher selves. The tank I'll bring out for SG stuff and ITF solo runs. The brute, interestingly enough, is the one I actually prefer to team with because that middle space of overall performance plus taunt, a taunt aura, and the brute's ability to get really ripped from buffs works very well. So... whirling dervish of death or unkillable god?
  8. Huh. Never noticed this. Or if I did I completely forgot. Still works out on the chain of FU>Focus>Slash>repeat due to 313% total recharge needed in FU for both though. Thought only the aoes were bumped up on recharge and thus base damage. Swipe: Both 2 sec recharge Strike: 3 vs 5 for scrap vs tank Slash: 5 vs 6 Spin: 9 vs 14 Followup: 12 on both Focus: 6 vs 8 Eviscerate: 9 vs 12 Shockwave: 12 vs 14
  9. Seconding this. But a question: why FU>Slash>Focus instead of FU>Focus>Slash? Always been better for me to have the third stack of FU on Focus rather than Slash since Focus has the higher DPA and base damage.
  10. You can grab the power analyzer from the P2W vendor. It shows the active combat attributes of the targeted entity.
  11. Considering how bloatedly overpowered tanks are now in comparison to the other archetypes, again, No. It's not going to happen because it would flatly break the game even further to the status of unplayable mess and it's just a bad idea. Edit: If you want to nerf defense, do it properly, at the Set IO level.
  12. So you wish to completely nerf all defense based scrappers/stalkers/brutes? /jranger
  13. It's only a problem if you care about game balance, which, granted, seems not to be high on the majority's priorities. I'm actually implying that it's an abuse of an exploit that should be corrected.
  14. Hopefully testing this with one of the best blasters I've run with against my fire/bio sent. To the topic, I min/max and I absolutely adore my sent. He doesn't die unless I'm really drunk and he managed to solo a max diff ITF with zero faceplants which pleases me. Granted, it took forever since I had no immobilize to lock those pesky cowards into place whilst I blasted them to death in complete safety.
  15. Want to actually fix most of the problems this game has now, Devs? Stop people from doing exactly this.
  16. My vote is added control. Sucks being able to blast away with utter impunity at the incoming damage but not be able to keep an AV from constantly running away thus killing your DPS.
  17. I'm not sure that mindset is needed at all in the current game. At this point we're talking a matter of difference in minutes for a team TF completion time versus a team not using KB. Everybody's tearing through everything so fast, those few extra minutes amount to nothing and some folks just like seeing everything tossed around everywhere. I slot KB to KD procs in everything that can do KB but that's a personal preference from being solo-centric. On teams, I like seeing everything flying everywhere and extra chaos pushing my vid card.
  18. To look cool blasting away in complete safety.
  19. Sometimes. Other times you can find yourself on the wrong end of a 30 day ban. 🙂
  20. And yet neither can be proper mez protection on their own. As I've stated repeatedly and you've ignored repeatedly. Great... you can gimp the shit out of your character with 6 powers to attain what a proper character can do with a single power pick. You're sooooo good at building characters.
  21. RoP is not capable of being permanent mez protection, nor is inner will. Kuji-In Rin and Practiced Brawler are both easily permable. Your argument fails, again. As every other post in this thread has done.
  22. And either intermittent or not available to everyone. Do keep up, failure boy.
  23. Any mez that lands proves defense isn't mez protection. It's mez avoidance. I have only been discussing mez protection. Quote once when I have said otherwise. All of those offer mez protection. Personal attack because you know you've been soundly trounced on every point every time and you can't handle it.
  24. You know how I know I've been successful in my career in IT? When no one ever has to call me. Same is true here. You want to liven up the party? Be the change you want to see.
