Just finished two-star ITF and, um.
Clave Dark 5 replied to KeepDistance's topic in General Discussion
Mine were doing something like that? Like they were trying to climb the rocks or something? Maybe it was a Grav hold making them float upwards... I couldn't really tell. But when they got back down, BAM, I think they killed me twice. -
Well dang, that's really odd. I haven't had time to go fiddle with this again, but I'll give it another go. Maybe the AE interface was just having a bad day. The MM pet wouldn't work as this is supposed to be one of the pirate ghosts, like the ones on Pork Oakes, etc. Do you recall if yours are set as Allies, or Rescues or what?

Bite you tongue! I ran my first (and probably only) 2-star-hard ITF, got like 7 of those things, and sold them for something like 175 million. It's so much money I'm afraid to take it out of the auction house lest I lose some for trying to exceed the single character's holding capacity! 😃
-
Yeah, I figure this was one of the added factors that were intended to make the usual steam-roller slow down a bit and have to consider what they were doing. I just ran a 2-star and had to learn the hard way (three deaths iirc) that my stalker really had to just sort of hang back and do, uh, well not much at all, while others finished those off from a distance (I might have started out hitting them, but started backing off pretty soon). And that I had to tab through the crowds we were fighting to see if there was a crystal that I needed to avoid. I can't say I love this either, but I'm not planning to make a habit of HARD STUFF runs anyway.

Hey, I just did that myself the other day too. I agree about the ankles, but I've often felt that way fighting any GM, like Eochai or the big red guy in Market Crash. I'd really like to be able to see them completely, for the orange numbers etc. But so it goes. -
I've no idea why it wouldn't allow it other than I'd already set the enemy group as being high level, so now the pirates are oranged out. Then again, I was also reminded how sometimes saving and the reopening can fix problems so who knows. I'll give it another shot when I get back to it. But that reflections is great to hear, thanks for that.

Architect Entertainment - Content Ideas
Clave Dark 5 replied to Arcanum's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I haven't kept up with this thread, so this may be already mentioned, but I'd like the chance if it could be done to take the visual template for an existing NPC/foe and then assign custom power sets to them as a "newly created custom character" for missions. Imagine how fun it would be to run into a cave of Snakes and then see them all pull out Beam Rifles, for instance. -
I think I tried a rescue but it still wouldn't allow it? I dunno. I'm not above making my own pirate anyway, but I was wondering if there was a trick I'd forgotten about. The mission I'm writing* is "post-every in-game Snakes story line" story, so pretty much has to be for 50s or their near cousins, so having them drop back to say 15 would be a bit uh clunky. 😃 *Well trying to, anyway, it's slow going so far

A very smol request for upcoming patch

Smol sticks? -
I haven't written anything new for the AE (that wasn't very simple) since HC came back, and I'm running into a wall with my new mission, so maybe you can help! I need to set a Spectral Pirate as a rescue or ally who then follows the player around. Trouble is, my mish design is high level, 40 to 50, so the interface won't let me choose one of those low level NCPs. Or is there a way to get around that? Should I just make my own pirate, given him flight and some tank's armor power to simulate the glowie look (and set him to non-fighting), or maybe invisibility plus that? What would you suggest? I had forgotten just how fiddly AE mission writing could be...

Mine just says CASH. But I did keep one that @Oklahoman sent me once for getting the kill shot on the drop ship, not sure why. Maybe someday he'll luck out when I want to send a proc or something and click that email accidentally.

I don't think I've done any of the hard mode stuff yet. I guess I would know if I had right? I'm not a min/maxer nor a twitch gamer, and its dispiriting to keep dying on a mission. I wouldn't mind giving it a go perhaps, but I'm also not terribly excited to try, either. Last Aeon I went on was bad enough with a player berating me for not knowing what I was doing, even though I'd already stated I've only done it once before.; I know that's just one jerk, not "the system" or whatever, but it still left a sour taste you know?

Shield Customization Suggestions
Clave Dark 5 replied to That Ninja's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
1. Why? because it gives player options, even if you don't care for those options yourself. 2. Same, although clipping issues may creep into the consideration for them here. Also, this game allows for Titan Weapons, Titan Shields doesn't seem silly. 3. See 1 and 2. You don't need to be "an expert" on anything, you need to remember this is just comic book stuff. 😃 -
Amazing what they can do with GMO food by now!

Oh hey, I was just teaming with Commander Crumpets last night. I think I was only playing Pink Bamfer, so that was me.

The AT and power sets that you've particularly enjoyed
Clave Dark 5 replied to User's topic in Archetypes
Recent ones that stick out in my mind was a Bots/Emp MM, because I get tired of having to go through the hassle of respawning dead pets, and my current just-hit-50 project, a Savage Melee/Shield stalker who has four TP powers: one gets him around with decent range, the other three do some damage, two of them good damage. Neither of these are crazy min/maxed within an inch of their lives builds, no purples, but they are 100% my kinda fun, and not as gimpy as say a "normal man" build or something. -
What does it mean to be Level 50 versus Incarnate?
Clave Dark 5 replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
That's a good rule of thumb, I'll have to remember that. (My recent stalker build was fine by the time he got to 50, I think he was close to 4/sec.) -

Clave Dark 5 replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
100% agree, I hate crutches like that. I often drop builds I've picked up from the forums when I see them going that way (and when I do work on my own builds, I ignore that option). I don't think that was a papering over weak powersets move on the original devs' parts though, just what a lot of players who don't wanna play anything but 50s go for. -

Which problems? -
Think I went overboard on keeping my blue bar charged with that? I'll admit by the time I was hitting the last few powerr choice sbefore 50 that I had already taken the things I wanted most Thanks for the details in the rest of your post. Definitely going to keep that in mind and se if I can live without popping RF, and then respec out of it if it works fine without it. Heck, I still haven't decided on what my final power choice is, I was thinking to take TP Target as there have been times I wished I could TP a dead friend out of the action for their own good. I think I looked over Weapons Mastery in the early stages, I'll give it another check.

Both you and @Bionic_Flea have a lot of good ideas, thanks for those. This one here: I just picked up my Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection one-slot-wonders and I seem to be good on End now, but I do need to play a bit more to make sure that worked out as hoped. Rending Flurry is just about too good an AoE to drop. Looking it up on the wiki though, the Stalker version of Savage Melee doesn't give you an End Reduction to go with that Recharge, but a Damage Buff (and I wasn't aware of that, somehow, duh). My chain atm is usually BU+Shield Charge (or Savage Leap)+Rending Flurry to drop a whole mess o AoE bamf-ness on a crowd, then usually AS+Shred+AnotherAoRBamf/Rending Flurry again. By then the mob's usually thinned down to only a couple and I can stick with the ST attacks. So Rending Flurry is fairly important to the style I'm going for. That said, when I get back to playing, I can try holding off on it a bit and see what happens.

So, time to slightly necro this thread (it's not that old! "I'm getting better!") as I appraoch 50. Currently at 47th level, I've found this toon, or I should say my build, to be something of a late bloomer, but that blooming has been some real bloomin' fun! I can run my toggles now. The AoE damage is something you don';t seem to find too often on stalkers, best I can tell, so that's good too. But approaching 50, I'm wondering about what Incarnates would be good. Are there a few obvious, "usual suspects" that stalkers go for in those realms? And, also, are there any that have any BAMF applicability? I think I've heard one gives you a Team Teleport power, but really, if you can buy that, why use an Incarnate choice on it? Unless there's nothing else great go go for, or it comes with other nice perks. I just don't know Incarnate powers much.
