  1. Yeah, my problem is that I just don't really care about chasing Incarnate stuff. So it's nice to find out that there's something else I can do with these, even if it's right before they close the barn door. 😃 If the game's up when I get home, I'm going to go round on all my old 50s and burn these off like there's no tomorrow, because, well, there isn't!
  2. I... thought we do still have all the original music? That said, I know I've seen DLs of them all (and grabbed one myself some years ago), and you can find them on YouTube too.
  3. Yeah, the current palette is very unbalanced towards the "cooler" colors, purples, blues, greens, and has hardly any variation in the "warmer" range of reds, yellows, or oranges. I'd really like to see that end expanded at least some.
  4. This was me too. And boy howdy do I have some toons sitting on a mountain of Emps - also due to the fact I'm not even sure what they're supposed to be used for. I'm not much a fan of endless Incarnate-leveling, so they're all sat there while I haven't taken the time to really find out. Guess I better rush out and cash all those in now then. That said, this makes my reaction to this change a bit negative? As in "what else am I going to do with these dumb things?" But I'm sure, sure that must be just from my ignorance, that they do have a real useful place other than just serving a a Merit farm, right? ETA: starting to sweat because I can't open the game at work, want to burn off all those excess Emps I have before this change comes about, and this is Tuesday morning... I can just feel I'm boned on this ha ha. Seriously, I have one toon with something like 500 Emps I think? No use for them if he's not going to be able to make Reward Merits out of them, I don't play him any more.
  5. For all our talk about how the game helps us avoid just using cookie-cutter builds, well, yeah, nearly everyone relies on these two, they're crutches. Kind of a pet peeve of mine, as I hate wasting a power pick for Boxing, and having to take End-heavy toggles that I can't afford to run half the time. OK, rant over! 😃
  6. Well, I can't say I wouldn't be tempted...
  7. Good point on SC. Yes, that's an Acc i there. I hate to miss, the ACC was lowish, but the Damage was already in the red, so their was no reason for another Acc/Dam.
  8. Well hm. Looking it all of this, and having played this toon to like 30 already, I need to chase +End it turns out, he gets tired way too easily. So I managed to squeeze a little more of that out, but my Def is actually worse now, although it's not like at failure levels (probably). That chase means I had to forgo Shield Walls. My resists aren't too awful either. This might be about as good as this toon can get. I wonder about those extra Perf Shifters in Sup. Conditioning and Phys Perf. - I recall reading someone had done the math and the +Chance actually returns more End than mere End Mods. And there's that one empty power at 47th level. Nothing lept out (ha ha) at me as "I should fill that with this!" Thought about the basic TP, but I already have Super Jump. Maybe TP Target so I can slowly TP a team after ghosting the map or something? Still pondering if I've missed an angle there too. 9. I figure someone on staff was a huge fan of the recent Dr. Strange movie, ha ha. Still, I'm looking forward to digging my old Mercs/Nature MM out of mothballs to see how the rifle changes work out.
  10. Interesting food for thought on all this. I don't have hardly any melee and this would be my first with Shield, how do you normally slot True Grit and Deflection to get both Res and Def in there, or are you ignoring the Def to go for just Res? I know the usual thinking is one wants both Def and Res because some attacks will get through anyway and you don't want to collapse like a house of cards the first time a hit slips through your Defense, but being something of a squishie, I have understood that Def ultimately is more important because you're likely to fall apart anyway ha ha. But on the other hand, confusingly, higher Res from true Grit would seem to be better than a handful of more HP from it - like I would expect the math might balance out that you're skipping more incoming damage than the extra HP would have been in the first place? I dunno. I don't have Mids in front of me right now to slot this out and see what turns up, but it does sound promising.
  11. So, I recently had a crazy thought for a probably not-terribly-practical stunt-build: I want all the combat teleports I can fit on one character, “because why not, sounds like fun.” But… I almost never run stalkers, so I hadn't visited that part of the forums to discover that this already exists with Elec/Shield stalkers. But I have my heart set on Savage Melee…imagine the shame of the easily resisted and unfashionable Savage Melee toon! Well, too bad, the heart wants what the heart wants, I still wanna do this. So here’s my current thoughts. This toon bamfs. He bamfs up, he bamfs down, he bamfs all around town, then he’s gonna bamf some more. So I chased +recharge and had to take a couple of powers here and there to open up the bamf choices, and had to drop a few “common” choices like the Fighting Pool. This is not a min/max build, but within these parameters, I’d still like to suck as little as possible - can’t bamf if I’m looking at the carpeting too often. I expect this toon overall to be middling, but loads of fun, because bamf. This is a build to level up with, not a rush-to-50 fixed-my-flaws-with-Incarnates kind of thing - which also means no purples, no Hamis, D-Syncs. Also, I am cheap, so I’m going to be lucky to afford the ATOs as it is, I can’t fund full Winter sets etc. I was originally going to proc up the Big Three TP attacks (Force Feedback’s % for Recharge looked good), but decided for set chasing for +Def. Any advice about slotting my defense powers to free me up to proc-out? Or maybe one, two, or all three of these TP attacks don’t proc well anyway. This gets into the mathematical weeds of how procs work, where I’m still more lost than not. Looking at their recharge, which might affect which one to proc: Savage Leap - 40 seconds Shield Charge - 90 seconds Spring Attack - 120 seconds Brawl four-slotted just to mule for KC for the +Def. Are there better places for those slots? Most of the powers taken near the end of this build as One Slot Wonders were to do stuff like mule LotG, or just cuz I still had a choice to make, and I’m not 100% sold on any of them - except maybe that Physical Perfection. Any suggestions about playstyle? What’s the best opener-bamf? Any other tricks of the bamf trade? I heard that some of The Three might not break Hide, is that true? Don’t need or want no ranged attack like Fireball - I am the ranged attack. 12. Me, one reason I prefer stalkers usually is that being invisible to nearly everyone, I can just waltz down a street without worry; my blasters, especially low level are cowering targets who have to hug one side of the street or another lest those scary guys over there see me. I hate that. My first toon ever was a blaster and got me pretty peeved trying to run across the Hollows without getting ganked (yeah, now I just buy a jetpack and feel less threatened from the air).
  13. Well we certainly know we can't trust that Robert Alderman guy...
  14. Talk about needing to show some love, wow, this thread's already off the rails with "debate"!
  15. Yeah, that's something I'm aiming for overall now. The one power that has the longest recharge is one I'm going to try and slot Chance for Recharge into, because it needs the most help, not all 3 now.
  16. Why, that's only a shade less disturbing that the baby Colin Robinson...
  17. I use this site all the time to stimulate my name-thinkin' https://onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml
  18. Bit disappointed there was no mention of a fix for the small AE bug where the first lines of scripted dialogue from placed people around the map all get dumped at once when you first walk into the map. I mean, I know, bug fixes can be really tough... but I was sort of hoping. This one error really hampers people writing missions. But it's not a big thing, I'm not like steaming mad or morosely tossing a noose over a nearby rafter or anything. Other than occasionally writing an arc, I have to admit I hardly use Ae.
  19. That's the thing, I don't generally have two separate builds, I get distracted by a new shiny about the time I hit 50, so, even if I was having loads of fun with the old toon, I'm moving on to my new one. So I like to use the procs soon as the slotting opens them up, based upon my funds anyway.
  20. This all sounds pretty good to me... except the all-new super high end content. When Incarnate stuff got added back in Live, that really made a lot of, well, anything below the level cap at 50 a ghost town. I'm not crying doom here or anything - costumes to grind for just aren't really the same thing - but I really hope that doesn't happen again. Oh, and yeah, have to admit I was thinking Wind Control would finally be a thing, rather than a Doctor Strange "We Fight With Music!" power.
  21. Which ones are those two in Striga fighting Council on endless Council maps? There are two of them right? it feels like there's two of them. Having been a red-side native back in the day, I never really learned the names for each of the blueside TFs, except for Posi1 and 2 now, so I often end up on those endless Council maps again, because I said yes, and I'm not going to be a butt and drop out once I realized I signed up for this one again. I've ended up with the Assistant badge on a few toons this way. Oh well, smashing fascists is always a good time.
  22. Quit with that teasin' and make wit' da update already, whyncha?!
  23. You've taken the rout I often do, which is to think up an excuse for a toon to have wildly different costumes each slot. I think I have like 5 toons like this now. 😛
