  1. Which ones are those two in Striga fighting Council on endless Council maps? There are two of them right? it feels like there's two of them. Having been a red-side native back in the day, I never really learned the names for each of the blueside TFs, except for Posi1 and 2 now, so I often end up on those endless Council maps again, because I said yes, and I'm not going to be a butt and drop out once I realized I signed up for this one again. I've ended up with the Assistant badge on a few toons this way. Oh well, smashing fascists is always a good time.
  2. I can't believe Jimmy is coming back!
  3. Quit with that teasin' and make wit' da update already, whyncha?!
  4. You've taken the rout I often do, which is to think up an excuse for a toon to have wildly different costumes each slot. I think I have like 5 toons like this now. 😛
  5. I seriously doubt any hammer's gonna fall; as I've said before, the current iteration of HC leans heavily into playing OP, they enable players to farm toons to 50 in two hours and then slot them with full IO and purple sets and Hami-Os, created a new form of high-end D-Sync-Os, etc... They can't get all worried about "procs are OP" if they're leaning into making us OP everywhere else.
  6. I had that going with an earlier version of the build, but I'm finding I really should be chasing set bonuses. I probably haven't got my toon well done, which is why I hope to post it in the stalker forums soon for solid suggestions. 😃 I mean, I'm OK with this not being a min/max build, but I also don't want to miss out on obviously better options, mostly. (That said, probably still going to do it to one of the big powers for the hell of it, call me Reckless Ralph) Too expensive! Plus this is a build to level with, not a farmed-to-50.
  7. Being new to this rodeo I have no idea if we now know those are bad or good.
  8. That's a fair point that I think I had known once but sort of forgotten. I'm working on a stalker* and they don't need so much help with damage as say a controller; procs for other effects such as "chance to build up" would be something else though I'm thinking. I'm already stepping a bit away from "super-procced for damage" in these bigger powers as it is, and instead using sets for chasing +recharge. I'm currently toiling away at my build and will be posting in the stalker forums soon looking for more advice. *Funny story: I've only rolled one single stalker since HC started, so I pretty much never visit the forums. Turns out I was trying to re-invent their Elec/Shield wheel (Spring Attack, Shield Charge, Lightning Rod), which I had no idea was already a whole thing there. I'm still shooting for something like that, but with my own spin on it.
  9. Oh yeah, I see now what you meant, yeah. I was thinking it was "Betty's Logic" was like some rule of thumb I didn't know. 😃 No henchmen on this build though!
  10. Solid point there. I like to level my characters the old fashion way rather than theory crafting them for "already at 50", so yeah, I wouldn't be six-slotting procs into anything, I hate missing. Like GM Kal and Six-Six suggested, I'd want to get the basic Acc/Dam at reasonable levels via frankenslotting or maybe a few pieces from one well-chosen set (such as a set that one of the procs is already a member of) before gorging on procs. 1) Anything attack that has "superior damage" is probably a a major power, so unless I slot a single poroc or two at most for some helpful effect like Chance For Recharge, maybe I shouldn't bother if you're right. 2) Betty's Logic???
  11. I didn't know Mids would calculate procs as well, that's good to know. That too is a good point, I hadn't thought about checking into that yet (which is why I usually just lift completed builds from the forums). The build I'm currently working on is something of a novelty build, and I haven't even settle don an AT yet. I'd probably better marshal my ideas and then post it with an explanation of what I'm chasing in the Archetype forums; maybe there I could better spell it all out.
  12. Quick question that some cursory looking didn't find an answer to: I'm currently MIDS building and got to wondering about procced-out damage vs. straight up IO slotting. I have a couple of attacks that do "superior damage" and was considering proccing one up for the hell of it. Would that be worth it? I know there's always another set bonus for something somewhere to chase, and there's a lot of subjective taste or distaste for this, but especially when you're getting up into the big league of attacks like say Knockout Blow, would I be sacrificing damage for splashiness?
  13. I missed a costume contest on the 4th because I was on a team (sobs) but hey I figure I can post here and receive some validation right? Right? So I present you with my Savage/Shield Scrapper, The Star Spangled Tiger! You can see his general look from left to right, and the right-most is his most patriotic costume.
  14. Best discovered by accident, like I did. 😃
  15. Let me ask that nice man walking his dog over there, "Hey buddy, seen any Council 'round here?"
  16. I recall someone once wanted to start a Twitter account - or was it Tumblr? - of bad bios and had a couple of screen shots of uh explicit ones, so yeah, that was a thing on Live. To finihs that story, it generated a bit of bad blood and the devs asked it be taken down to the poster did. I like a good bio as much as the next person, but I am not going to read a document that fills out ever last possible character count in that little window. if I have to scroll it's too long. Think of it like an attack: do you need to spam a T1 attack, or do you have few strong attacks that'll do the work in less time? And if you can write a good T9 bio, kudos!
  17. I've done it a few times now on Excelsior (yes, PUGs), and I think each time it took some thankless handholding and careful directions ala IN ALL-CAPS PLEASE READ CHAT from the team leader. It also helped to have some Assemble The Teams along the way too. I don't think it's a mission to casually walk into, the person leading mine (I wager it was the same guy all three times) was really herding cats to get it done. But the good news - we did it! All three times. But not without some grief.
  18. I like the way you think.
  19. Yeah, I only learned this now too. I haven't done that one all that often though, as I often play squishies. And for some reason that one TF out of them all (maybe Aeon) seems to bring out the yellingest team leaders (and no, this wasn't all just yelling at me for dying ha ha). Not all the time mind you, just ups the odds.
  20. Ever had a pet? Trust me, that Animal Fur gets everywhere!
  21. I didn't get to see such stuff until HC, my older computers couldn't handle the graphics. Now I get to revel in all the shell casings littering the ground around my AR blaster and Council goons.
  22. You think that's bad, you should see my Grav/Dark Controller Trash Ghost.
