  1. If the screenshots are good, but the display does not reflect that, try manually adjusting the monitors tint, hue, and contrast settings, they may be off enough to cause the discrepancy between what the pc is sending to the monitor and what is displayed.
  2. I could see this being more of an issue if you had to have an install of an entirely different game on your hard drive ( client side ), but the Launcher is only 500kb. That's all that's on your computer. HC Launcher is much more secure and designed specifically to run the HC Version of CoH. This in no way prevents you from having other Launchers for other servers, and It has been public knowledge for a long time that their plan was to move away from Tequilla and Island Rum. The HC Crew is just trying to give us the best, most secure experience that they can, and it is not meant as anything against other servers.
  3. I would assume he was merely marking his territory, common practice, and quite effective.
  4. Accolades and Badges are always nice to get, but some are harder, even impossible Solo. This one is not, however it does at times require a bit of pre-planning and a few purchases. Not all these are necessary, but for me they make it go smoother than trying to tough it out, and I look at this as not just a bunch of missions, but as one story. I prefer to do this as an Exemplared 50. The Latest pass was Red Guard, INV/ Radiation Melee / Pyre Tank. TFC Mission Kit: Inspirations: I recommend the Largest of Each Type you think you will need, you can replenish from the Auction House as needed between missions, but I tend to buy enough for each TF, before I start it. Envenomed Daggers, etc: Really handy to use between your attacks, a lot of this Process will be without key parts of your attack chain that you have been accustomed to, so a few extra tools can go a long way. Summons: Warwolves, Shivans, whatever, you can even purchase Signature Summons from P2W ( Posi, Numina etc ). Your choice will need to counter whatever you may not have to take down an AV Solo, exemplared. In my case I used Posi, Damage and Debuff all in one. Patience: You are Soloing, you can log out at anytime between missions without losing your progress. Some are a lot to do at one sitting, but it is nice to set a pace that will allow you to watch cut scenes and read dialog without feeling rushed, It will be done soon enough, and some of these have unique sets that aren't reused much in the game. Task Force Suggestions: Positron; The Rule of Three / Dam Hero: Part 1/Part 2 total 13 missions. Level 15. Tarses and the Shadow Simulacrum ( a black silhouette of you ) are not too tough and a few inspirations should get you past them. Rollister went Quick but I know Dr Vazhilok can be a different story. I attacked him till he summoned his spawn, then went to the other end of the Catwalk and summoned Positron. this caused the spawn to create a buffer between me and the good Doc till I could reduce their numbers, then concentrate on him. It went slowly but he finally went down. Synapse: Fall of the Clockwork King: 15 Missions. Level 20. Long, repetitive but the final mission has a really cool look. The King is tough, and Psych Powered so have plenty of Escapes to pop and it will go pretty easy, no summon for me but use your judgement. Penelope Yin: Clamor for the People: 4 Missions. Level 25. Short, sweet and a great final mission set. Clamor can be a handful, so use a bunch of Resistance and Damage Inspirations to limit the debuffs, shut down the computers when she disappears and get ready for round 2. Not too bad, but was almost out of Inspirations when she finally went down. Citadel: Citadel's Children: 11 Missions. Level 30. Missions are not great but, well, they are also kinda repetitive, but at least it's quicker than Synapse. Vandal seems toward the low end of Arch Villain Strength, and at 30, your attack chain is starting to reappear. No big issues here, a few Inspirations and down he goes. Manticore: Following Countess Crey: 10 Missions. Level 35. I would like to say this one required the most strategy to get it finished. Attack chain at 35 is better but I found on a previous run the best thing to do after Hopkins goes down the 1ST time is book out to the mission door and exit. While outside, restock anything you used and reenter the mission, Countess Crey will spawn just outside the entrance room, whereas Hopkins will respawn where you fought him the first time and stay there. After a Positron summon we take her down, then head to back of the map and deal with Hopkins again. Both are AVs so two at a time is more work than I care to put in. Numina: Soul of the Woodsman: 21 Missions ( 16 hunts ). Level 40. The missions are pretty straight forward, the Hunts well, some are for something that are not all that plentiful where you need to hunt it, but are doable. The final battle with Jurassik, with Positron summoned and me glowing from all the Inspirations I used, went fairly quick, he doesn't seem to be the GM level Jurassik, but it still took a while to whittle him down. Well hope someone finds something useful in this, I have a lot of Solo only Characters due to my playtime limitations and it has allowed me to use time when I can find a team to do things I can't alone. Good Hunting.
  5. I can confirm that it is having issues. I soloed the task force mission " Defeat the Clockwork Lord ", announced in chat that there would be a Babbage spawn when I exited Map. Exited and waited around outside mission door and nothing ever happened. It has been suggested that if a Zone Event, such as Troll Rave is running it prevents the spawn. That is about impossible to plan for, but I noticed Supatrolls in the area after I gave up waiting, so it seems like a possible explanation, even though it stinks.
  6. It is possible that the game and your video processor are at odds. You might take a look at the settings and perhaps even the driver, both on the Game and your Card, there may be a setting that just needs tweaked to get it looking correctly. Since the screen shots are close, I would lean toward the PC. It is an old game that still uses OpenGL so who knows.
  7. You may want to check Windows Update and see if there were any automatic updates or if video drivers have been updated since it last worked properly. If you are using the Homecoming Launcher, click the dots next to start, and click the update selection, there have been patches recently that may not have updated properly which can cause issues. You can check for connection issues specific to COH, if in game' by running /netgraph1, it will track you connection to the server and show any loss of connection. There is also a crash log in the Launcher that you can forward, with any personal info removed for the sake of privacy, by filing a support ticket. They may be able to help you out.
  8. When using costume pieces with an inherent texture, say tights sleek verses just tights, you will see a variation to the color because of the texture shading. They seem pretty close to me, although I understand you are not happy with the way it appears. You might try switching to a similar costume piece and see if you feel it is a better color match.
  9. Nope, I was solo and actually advertised the Babbage Ambush on looking for group before exiting, and then waited for 10 minutes for nothing to happen
  10. Not sure if this is a known issue or not .... Completed the " Defeat the Clockwork Lord and his minions " in the Synapse TF/Fall of the Clockwork King, exited mission.... nothing. It is supposed to be an Ambush, so I wouldn't think I would have to search for Babbage but after a few minutes of the additional people I called in to deal with him searching the area, we came to the conclusion he wasn't coming to the party. The mission Door was at 160.0 -126.0 -2608.4, about 315 Yards due south of the Gruff Marker in Skyway, so there should have been no Police Drones near enough to cause an issue, the only odd thing was after getting the Immobilizer Mark VI from Positron, the Clockwork King mission used the same door. Kinda let down honestly, as it is a long and boring TF for the most part, especially since I did it Solo over a couple days, and the Babbage ambush was something I was looking forward to. edit: After doing some looking found a post that stated he would not spawn if there is a zone event in progress, which there was a Troll Rave in progress, just my luck, oh well, at least I finished the TF so that one is off the list for Task Force Commander.
  11. I remember him on Virtue and on the boards, very sad news.... life is both precious and fleeting, Rest Well @Rathulfr.
  12. You'll definitely want to check out the P2W Vender in Atlas Park, all sorts of great things there, many for free. There are also a lot of Quality of Life improvements that have been added since COHs return, including the new Transportation options listed above. Bases are now free, although for some items to work, you still need to satisfy the power and control requirements. You can have Zone TP, Rez to base, Auto Doc, Pillar of Ice and Flame, Trainers, Merit Vendors, Icon Reps, Crafting, Storage and the base can be as large as you like, AT NO COST. Nice. If you install COH Modder you can then easily set up Vidiot's Maps for Issue 24 and beyond, sound and Costume Mods. Single Origin Enhancements are now available at Most venders for any level Character and there is now an Upgrade option on the Enhancement Screen to automatically upgrade all your Origin based Enhancements to the Maximum level you can use ( for Influence ) at the click of a button. Good Hunting.
  13. I believe a lot of these options ( including belly fat ) were intentionally not included by the Original Devs to avoid griefing, remember that during the original run, the game was rated TEEN. I have found some workarounds here and there to skirt the edges a bit. I have also seen some Creations I would have a hard time recreating myself. In my case I have several rather Hirsute guys in my character list, ( hey, I have no special powers and if I can deal with having back hair then so can you Mr. Hero Dude, take that...) and they get some long looks sometimes from other players. There are a ton of costume options, and I would welcome more but I wonder what limits there are on the scaling options, with only a few exceptions everything in this game uses the same scale sliders to get different looks. It would be interesting to expand what those possibilities are.
  14. Confirmed in Titan Icon that it is that way there as well, guess they never actually made a version of kilts/shorts for Huge Male Characters, oh well......somebody back in the day only did 2/3 of the job, lol.
  15. Noticed this when I was getting an appropriate costume together for a character who was heading to Cimerora. If you select Kilts of any kind, roman, battle, etc. it applies Regular male upper legs ( Thighs ) to a Huge Male body, just looks chicken leggy and odd since the lower legs stay Huge. Don't know if this was always the case or something new but very strange that it would alter that considering the way the kilts hang there shouldn't be a problem with the larger legs clipping. Not a big deal really, Guess I could see if it does it in Titan Icon or Paragon Chat, but it would be nice if it left the leg scale alone.
  16. If it's OK, please follow the " Launcher not Launching " post so we can have all efforts to resolve this in one thread.
  17. Next to the " Homecoming Ready " button you will see 3 dots, click that and select " Check for Updates ". If that does not work go to the same place and click " Verify ". it will make sure you have the version necessary to enter the game. I believe there was a small update that may have not been automatically loaded. IF you are using the Homecoming Launcher and it is installed at C; Games/Homecoming, you may want go there to Launch the game in case there is an issue with the shortcut. Let us know what you find.
  18. Need some info, ( above ), so we can try and help you with this.
  19. I always have some new project toon going, with limited playtime I don't have the 100s some do. The most recent, Red Guard, just dinged 50 and has his Alpha unlocked. Not sure how much further I will go with him, but he is a INV/Radiation Melee Tank and a blast to play. I have to admit though that Marine ( Marine X, INV/SS Tank ) is always just so easy and effortless to play, was my Main on live from just after Launch ( Virtue ) and the first 50 I rerolled on Homecoming. Don't play him as much anymore but when I do it's so easy to get back in the groove with him, still the best fit for me. Wish I was able to play more, but I play mostly early in the morning ( ET Ohio USA ) so it's at a weird time for Reunion, but this has been home since it was Halcyon, and I will stay here as long as I can. I have a few toons on other Shards but most of my favorites are here. The 50s: Marine X ( Inv/SS Tank ) Goldfever ( ILL/Kinetic Controller ) Livingston ( Stone/Fire Melee Tank ) Hard Knox ( SR/Street Justice Tank ) Battlesrike ( Radiation Melee/Regen Brute ) Sonny Burns/Bubba Burns ( Radiation Melee/Fiery Aura Brutes ) Red Guard ( Inv/Radiation Melee Tank ) and a bunch more close.......
  20. Could be a Firewall, Anti-Virus or Permissions issue. Can you get us the information on your install requested above? It might help narrow down the issue. Also make sure if it is a Windows Install that it is installed in it's own folder directly on the Harddrive ( Games ), not in Program Files or Desktop to avoid Windows Permissions issues.Try turning off Windows Defender and any Anti-Virus to see if this allows it to connect. Good Hunting.
  21. If you can give us a little more info it would really help. Are you using an Apple or PC? System Software Version? Which Launcher are you using? Has it worked in the past or are you a new user?
  22. Good Job All.
  23. We just need a few more to step up and help us put this away for another Month, let's get this done so we can get back to work putting down Skulls.
  24. Of all the PVP Zones, the one I actually enjoyed the " Mechanics " of was Recluses Victory when it was new, and you actually had teams trying to take control. Still do Bloody Bay for Shivans once in a while but have yet to encounter a Villain while there. I do recall, on Live, experiencing Confuse in Warburg, from an opposing player, ouch, accidentally beat up a couple teammates before I realized what was happening. That was a cool experience, the other team engaged us directly and it was a blast. It seems like that approach changed as time went on so I kinda lost interest. Did not enjoy being target practice for people I couldn't even find. As for the Anxiety issues, If I am not feeling anything going into a Mission, I am probably not going to have much fun. I build decent Characters but intentionally avoid God mode Builds because if there is no chance of losing, and it requires no strategy at all, all I'm doing is wearing out a perfectly good keyboard and mouse.
