  1. As a rule of thumb don't open an ouro portal too near another door, whether chopper, train or even an entrance to a building like city hall. Even if it doesn't causes an issue for you someone else may come along and misclick. This is high on my CoX pet peeves list.
  2. Heather skews my "play time spent in flashback" percentage in a big way. Even without Heather I do use it quite a bit, most notably for badges needed for accos, temp powers and opening content. As a matter of fact I was on a team last night that did Talshak's arc in flashback to open up Cavern but teaming is indeed very rare, unless I can count multi-boxing Heathers as teaming.
  3. To the question of how long to acquire a Shivan... I combine the Bloody Bay patrol with my Shivan hunt and it takes, I dunno, 10 minutes? I say this without ever once actually timing it. The biggest drivers of time (as I see it) are 1) ability to scan meteors before the Shivans crawl out of the ground and attack you 2) how quickly you can take out 4 major and 4 minor turrets (which can be helped by finding lvl 25 turrets with no boss) and 3) if the turrets respawn before you're done and, rarely but it can happen 4) other players harassing you.
  4. As mentioned above, just do Invader. If you're lvl 30+ you can do SSA1E4 (red or blue, to unlock Schweinzer) and then go get all the explores from Schweinzer before a fast Synapse team can even get to the Boomtown mission.
  5. I would absolutely be on board with eliminating hunts in general or, more reasonably (to minimize mission arc rewrite) make the X in "Hunt X" a very low number, like 5. They're not fun (subjective) not rewarding (less subjective), to me they just serve to break the flow when I'm doing old school contacts.
  6. Godzilla -1 rules. It's at the tippy top of my "best of 2023" list. People should see it at their best theater while they can.
  7. Not saying it's not a bug, I'd love for this to get fixed, but at this point I just consider it life with flying NPCs, like Scirocco when you get him as an ally in DA missions. The good news is, if you have a teleport of some sort, even Assemble the Team, that will get the unstuck (until the next time they get stuck).
  8. Perma anything is cooldown/duration - 1 (ignoring activation atm for simplicity). 300 / 90 -1 is the recharge ultimately needed, that's 233.33%. Let's say you slot to ED cap of recharge within LF of 95%, now you're at 138.3% remaining. Now let's assume you slot the max of 5 ultimate recharge bonuses for 50%, now at 88.3% lef. (I'd go 3 purples and split Superior Essence Transfer into 2 sets of 3) It shouldn't be too difficult to sneak in 2 gargantuan bonuses of 8.75% for 17.5, now at 70.5% (NOT making Kheldians Grace superior may be the call here). Let's assume 5 LotG for 37.5% now you're at, 33 remaining. I'm going to stop at this point, there are various bonuses of 7.5 and 6.25 remaining. If you use Panaceas in 2 of your heals, then 3 of the 6.25% bonuses and "Bob's your uncle" (not counting activation). Note, this is just AN example of a roadmap to no Hasten/perma LF, there are other combinations, of course, something else may be more effective. I also didn't check on how many slots this takes. Personally, I'm currently playing a PB with playstyle of "stay in non-human forms except to buff and nuke" and having LF and Hasten on 2 very different cycles becomes quite annoying, especially if the action gets hot and heavy. So I certainly get the appeal of a no-Hasten perma LF build.
  9. Malcolm Gladwell says you gain true expertise after 10,000 hours, Now, I may not have this expertise in any single version of Sid Meier's Civ, but if we include all hours played across 2-6, he would consider me a pro. Actually, Civ 5 + 6 is enough to cross that threshold. No way to know time spent on 2-4 though. For figuring value, it doesn't even matter what the cost was, the denominator is so huge, the cost/hour approaches 0. Worst value would any of the innumerable games I have in my Steam library I haven't even installed yet.
  10. Not relevant to the power of Stormies, but if you're on a KH and see it's set to +4, quit ASAP, you're not beating +7 Mary.
  11. Another answer to the question as literally posed ("the highest +Def buff to an ally?"): Empathy with PBU + Fortitude. Fort and FF have the same base values for +Def. Before the "well akshully" yes FF boosts all friendlies in range and Fort is single target.
  12. I hate to be a jerk, or jerk adjacent, but in addition to the other Cold errors this was too egregious and I checked out of the thread afterward. The buff from Heat Loss lasts 90 seconds, see https://cod.uberguy.net./html/power.html?power=pets.heatlossbuff_defender.heat_loss&at=minion_pets The debuffs last 30 seconds, see https://cod.uberguy.net./html/power.html?power=pets.heatlossdebuff_defender.heat_loss&at=minion_pets
  13. Oil Slick is weird. It doesn't take Accuracy enhancements. This post caught my eye so I logged on my /TA troller (not Ill) and here is my log: It seems like there's no to-hit entry for hits, but only for misses. As you can see there's tons of damage ticks but no corresponding "hit" roll.
  14. The only "killing" someone would make is the relative value of their merits if they use a 20M inf asset (100 merits) to acquire a 5-6M inf asset (at this moment, none of the uniques for Shield Wall, Glad Armor or Panacea exceeded 5.25M in the last 5 sales).
  15. *shrug* Just telling you what someone said they were going to do, then that activity was done.
  16. I saw someone in chat mention buying 40k (I think that's the number) boosters, that's why I proffer it's mostly the work of one person. Certainly that has a cascading effect of "buy-it-naos" needing to exceed 2M that draws in additional buyers.
  17. Speaking of boosters, thank you to whoever put out all those 2M inf bids. I owe you a Christmas card, this was the largest inf generating event I've had in this game. I spent over 2.5 hours one day just acquiring them with merits and throwing them on AH. Let's just say it put me at an inf threshold I never expected to get to.
  18. There's a saying in the biz - "tripping over dollars to pick up pennies" and that's what this thread reminds me of.
  19. I was very disappointed last year when I saw the dev statement these EBs would not spawn for soloers the next Halloween (now). I was very happy the first time I knocked on a door and an EB showed up. I sure hope they keep them. If folks want some way to disable them for themselves, fine, I want them.
  20. Looking at the thread, I see it asked but not answered - The team lead gets the power of Black Scorpion, regardless of AT, in the Barracuda SF. Don't believe me? See from i27p2 patch notes: Barracuda Strike Force Power of Black Scorpion (the power required to kill Reichsman) is now always granted to the team leader, regardless of Archetype Defenders now receive Power of Ghost Widow Masterminds now receive Power of Captain Mako
  21. If you're looking for a hand-off debuffer, I strongly suggest traps. I have several follower traps MM (for multiple WSTs (this is a relic of a by-gone time for me)). The action is pretty simple for a big fight, switch to 2nd account, drop acid, drop Poison Trap (game's highest single source of -regen and auto-hit), Triage if you want additional regen. Put Web Grenade on auto, this will keep the AV from running (TA is the only other buff/debuff set that can do this but TA needs a lot of hands-on attention). If you want to double stack, 30 seconds after you initially dropped the traps, redo, even if just for acid. It sounds like alt-tabbing every 30 seconds doesn't meet your "set it and forget it" requirement but I still this is how I roll. Here's exactly what I do for AV fights, works for whatever my primary toon is 1. Find a nice little wall, preferably a tight kill-zone 2. Ctrl+click Web Grenade, target through account 1 3. Resummon FFG (get a fresh 4 minutes) 4. Summon Seekers by my side. I don't keep these refreshed during the fight but the two seekers combine for -50% dmg which helps. 5. Drop Triage 6. Drop Poison Trap 7. Drop Acid 8. Fetch AV with account 1 Between steps 3-7 I could create a .5 step for each one that includes placing a Trip Mine. I do usually do this for the initial set up but not on-going. Once the fight has started you can get a feel for when it's time to alt-tab out. One last point, there are few DPS increases for an AV fight greater than keeping it stationary. Web nade really is the MVP here.
  22. Instead of thinking of a single expense increasing 10x, think of actual margins decreasing less than 1% (assuming a prior profit of 1.3M* would now be 1.29M). *I made up 1.3M as some sort net profit after crafting and AH fees, if someone wants to tell me they get more per sale, I don't care. If they want to tell me they get less, I don't care, it's just for an example.
  23. Just curious OP, were you Frosty Dogg? I did a little quick test of creating a 2 team league with my 3 accounts. What it looked like is that the team leader is indeed who gets the yellow box, unless you are the team leader then it's the next person in team order.
  24. This got me to looking for who has had the yellow box around them on leagues I've joined since I read this. Every time it's been my team leader. In the OP, the box is around the second player on the team list, so I'm going to hypothesize that the first player in the list has selected a mission from the second player, which gives them a sort "de facto" team leader state. Is that a stretch? Maybe but not a big one.
  25. I'll get it eventually, but I have 2-fold reasons to wait - I'm cheap and this will be on sale for $10 before you know it and word is, it's pretty buggy now. I'm into the 4x genre (Civ mega fan). I like Stellaris (not love) but I do love Trek, so I will be owning this eventually.
