I use a mouse with two buttons on the left side that the game calls button4 and button5. If you don't have such a mouse, ignore this message. Button4 is the one closer to your palm, button5 is the other one. I use button4 for teleporting for travel, so my bind is /bind button4 "powexec_location cursor teleport$$powexec_location target teleport" This allows for one click teleporting, as opposed to /bind lbutton+lshift "powexec_name Teleport" which needs two actions from the user, the initial one then clicking the reticle. For this, if I have a target selected, I teleport directly to it (if in range), if no target selected it teleports to where the cursor is pointing. I've started using button5 on a Marine character with cone attacks so I like to Combat Teleport back after using Whitecap. For that I use /bind button5 "powexec_location 180:30 combat teleport" I could have used "back" instead of 180. 180 represents the number of degrees on a circle, which is directly behind you, the 30 is the distance. Details are here about your various options: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Powexec_location_(Slash_Command) To combine with PFF, I'd probably activate PFF first which would result in /bind KEY "powexec_location 180:100 teleport$$powexec_toggleon personal force field" if you'd rather teleport then use PFF I'd swap the order above. I arbitrarily chose 100 in this case for the distance you'll port back, adjust up or down to whatever you're looking for. KEY is the key (or mouse button) you want to bind to. If I can clarify anything let me know, you know how to find me.

New mechanics Kinetics doesn't buff/heal if target defeated
Hedgefund replied to Kai Moon's topic in Bug Reports
Issue 27 Page 1 has this note at the very bottom of the announcement So if Transfusion is no longer healing as a target dies, something broke in a recent update. Siphon Power, Transference and Fulcrum Shift were all changed in i27p1 as well. -
It's baaaa-ack. I haven't seen this since the Oct 8 patch, which I'm guessing this line referred to: However I just experienced it again, details from /whereami: Server: Excelsior Zone/Mission: Office_60_Layout_03_02 Position: [2519.0 54.0 1470.8] This was while playing the Villain tip mission "Merlin's Magical Minute".

Here's the Smuggler's sub from the docks in Grandville, could not be easier to access. I guess if you have "no use for the sub" you're not doing Abyss Hami raids because these subs are the only access. Also I'm curious what day job you're getting from the Smuggler's Sub.
-
You can get to that store in seconds from the Smuggler's Sub, it's only 140 yards away.

A "Triple Set IO" means something boosts 3 attributes, like Accuracy/Damage/Recharge. This, for example: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Ragnarok:_Damage/Recharge/Accuracy_(Superior) A "Dual Set IO" means one that boosts 2 attributes, like Damage/Recharge. This, for example: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Ragnarok:_Damage/Recharge_(Superior) So when the above table says "Superior Triple Set IO" and shows 79.5, that's a result of 26.5 (accuracy) + 26.5 (damage) + 26.5 (recharge). The same follows for the double.

I expected an emphasized "THE" to make it clear I was talking about overall, especially because it's right these in that data that it was #1 overall.
-
The link to that data is right here in this very thread and Bots aren't anywhere near #1 overall. "By a decent margin" lol. It's #1 among MMs at that point but not even top 10 overall.

I'm going to guess this is from that new shard that was added, Vanguard I think it is. I say that because the main page has a reference to a player that is responsible for that server (from what I understand). I wouldn't take too much from the numbers generated, that's a real niche server, Robots THE most popular primary? That doesn't match my "feels" for HC. But to answer the OP, yes, that would be cool info to have.

Global Friends list no longer shows servers?
Hedgefund replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
When someone logs off in a mission or a PVP zone (not meant to be an exhaustive list) then they still show up on the global list but they won't have a status or shard. It's easy to distinguish this state. -
PSA: Bonus XP on Lower Populated Shards Coming to an End
Hedgefund replied to Lunar Ronin's topic in General Discussion
Windfall doesn't boost inf. I believe the description used to claim that it did, but I looked at the current description and there's no mention of inf. I have, here on HC, tested inf both with and without windfall, both within AE and outside of AE and never saw an increase of inf.- 56 replies

The Mapserver event on Indom last year was the most nuts XP I've seen outside of egregious AE exploits (that I... heard about, never knew them first hand of course). 30X (that's THIRTY times) xp for those mobs. 3x bonus, as detailed above with combined P2W booster and server bonus, for mobs with base 10 XP. Glorious. *Note to anyone thinking of "well akshully"ing this - don't. I have receipts.

"earned" alignment points - help me remember which arcs have them.
Hedgefund replied to Ukase's topic in General Discussion
It's a fairly new thing, awarding alignment points within a mission. I don't recall seeing it until i27p6, with Stribbling and John Houston. I haven't done any of the i28p1 new contacts (I need to) but when I looked at the wiki for one (Ashling Corlett) I noticed a reference to an alignment point so there's another. -
The snippet is from my 3rd attack. The first one had an aesthetic problem with the image. The second time 4 of the 5 fired so I did another to get all 5. I would certainly be interested in any data supporting the notion that the first application has the highest proc rate (not accounting for pseudopet business).

Here's my 1 Acc + 5 proc slotted infrigidate with all 5 procs (the fifth one is Achille's Heel) firing on a test pylon:

I just tried this because, if it worked, would be a good use of an invention discount which has a max value of 150k inf (when crafting a purple) and a Reward Merit certainly has a valuation of more than 150k. However, it didn't work for me. I just tried using a discount coupon and the worst case occurred, both a merit was spent and an invention discount coupon was used. I did it twice to make sure, it was repeatable. So, if someone wants to say they saw this work, I'd love to hear it, otherwise I caution readers to NOT use this method to acquire tips. I'll use one more of each to illustrate. Before picture, with 8 coupons and 207 RMs: After, now with 7 coupons and 206 merits.

Whoa! This is like LeBron James telling you "you played a great game of basketball".

I personally don't care but I have seen players express their want to have this info hidden. This privacy matters to them, . I am deeply sorry though for the inconvenience you're going to suffer to (checks notes) click a button.

I've thought, for a long long time now, that Kin + Cold was the game's "I win" button. That goes back to SO builds and is as true today in the age of demi-god builds as it was then. To make it a trinity, let the third be me on... anything. Blaster, Stalker, doesn't matter, just gimme those buffs.
-
Opting out of privacy is a standard practice now. This was a good implementation choice.

Completed all Maria Jenkins AV missions and didn't get the badge
Hedgefund replied to shmurtypants's topic in Badges
Anti-Matter. You can see Null the Gull to confirm, he has an option to check Dim Warder progress. You can choose to do the Keyes iTrial, Tina McIntyre's arc via Ouro (last mission has him) or join someone who is doing Tina's last mission. It's not terribly uncommon to see people advertise in LFG that they're doing it.- 1 reply

When the Sheer Willpower accolade power was released, I looked at the requirements for both red and blue side and my initial reaction was that redside was the preferred way to acquire, I tend to do those SFs when they're WST anyway. I decided to give a go at the blue version "Protector of Paragon City". A back of the napkin estimate for how long it would take for each task led me to believe I could perhaps get the blue one quicker than the red one, that is when both are starting at 0. So I set off to go through everything on the patch notes release: Now, what I didn't do was read the details about the story arc badges. I assumed (and here's a lesson in what happens when you assume) that those badges were for simply doing those arcs. They're not. They're awarded for specific choices and actions. So the PSA is to make sure you know what you need to do to get those specific badges, which is a good practice in general. As for me, I'll stick with my gut instinct that the redside version is the way to go.

Zombie Apocalypse - zombies not spawning
Hedgefund replied to legendaryjman's topic in General Discussion
When I go afk with a Stalker and a zombie invasion happens, and I'm talking about afk in a villain zone like Nerva far away from any other players, I invariably have a few new friends around when I return to the game. They don't attack because they don't see me, but, and this is the important part, they do spawn, because the invasion mechanic doesn't need to see me to spawn mobs. This particular myth is frustrating to still deal with. Fortunately I don't see it as much, I haven't seen anyone say to turn off Arctic Fog in an MSR in a long time so there's hope. -
The date of that video (April 10, 2021) is pre- i27p5 (Oct 10, 2022). I used an ice/fire blaster for farming pre-p5, it was "real and spectacular". I put it aside after page 5, the aggro changes made the incoming dmg too much to deal with even with 45/75 numbers. Truth be told I was retiring from farm life at this time so I didn't try to solve this. Others may have a different experience. Because farm life is so far in the rear view mirror, I don't know what current "best practices" are. I was using an asteroid farm. If folks use a more spawn-to-spawn technique that's probably more friendly to a blaster. Anyway, so I can contribute to the OP's question, maybe try a dom. In spawn-to-spawn fights they're very safe, when perma dom at least. Plant/fire, something like that.
