  1. Attuned leveling is THE way to go. I'll never go back to any other way. Just keep upcoming IOs in your tray and the ride to 50 is smooooth. It's almost like an additional leveling process. Not just that you unlocked a 5th slot in an important power, you also just got 8.75% global recharge! It takes planning to make the build beforehand and then acquiring the attuned IOs, but so so worth it. As for a Dark/Dark dom, I had one that I gave up on around mid to late 30s. I hate giving up on a dom before achieving perma, but every fight was such a chore, endurance constantly bottoming out. Safe, by the time mezzes wore off their to-hit was down a notch or two, but it's one of the slowest killers I've played. That could be a "me" problem, maybe I wasn't doing something right, but it was still a problem.
  2. The tooltip says "Ranged" Pines lets you slot PBAOEs. It actually takes Melee sets. WTH? I suppose they're all consistent on it taking universal travel sets.
  3. I would add to the list of what could make your Dom stronger an item I consider as important as the insp one - you're not using base empowerment buffs. Most specifically the "increase attack speed" empowerment which provides an additional +20 recharge for 90 minutes. You know how you wouldn't blink an eye at spending 150-200M inf for 20% recharge? All this costs is 1 uncommon and 2 common pieces of salvage. The other buffs range from equally great to, at worst, helpful. In my vault I keep a big stack of each of the 3 types of salvage needed for recharge. I tend to just peruse the other buffs and craft what I can with whatever salvage is on me.
  4. I had a fire/time/dark on live and decided to try the other side of the coin with a time/fire/dark. While I miss Scourge against AVs, I'm very happy with the offense+defense+special teams the Defender provides. Just a thing to think about - if you put the Panacea proc in Temporal Mending, it will not only have a chance to proc for you when you use it, but also your teammates that get hit by the heal. Would give you back a slot too. Obviously you've got a strong build and it wouldn't proc while you're not using your heal but I'm happy with that slotting, just something to consider. Another significant difference between my corr and def is that I went with Agility (I think) on the corr and sometimes end management was tricky, I would fire off conserve power every now and then. Now I went with Cardio for the fender and all is good on that front. I would have gone Clarion Radial, but I don't have Rune to fill in that 30 second gap so Clarion Core for me. I might re-address at some point.
  5. I just started playing around with this. I was excited about the prospect of exiting a mission, switching to a travel build (with 6 slotted TP, for example, to go along with the other 3 legacy travel pools) then switching back the latter of reaching the next mission door or 60 seconds. Now, you warned us: It was a little bit distressing seeing Heat Loss, a long recharging power (at least on my lowbie working up to decent global rch) reset, but it's something I can live with. More problematic though, is that it also resets temp powers, such as mission teleport or team teleport (the one that calls the Longbow/Arachnos Uber, not the pool power). These are fixed at 30 minutes and are reset to 30 whenever a build is swapped. Note - I'm not poo-pooing the original guide, I still think it's great info. I just wanted to share my findings for anyone else considering a travel build to quick swap between missions.
  6. SB is cast on your allies. I'm not sure if the proc was changed to not stun allies or not. Regardless, if it does, you'd be stunning your allies. If it doesn't, then it's not doing anything. You should take that out for... anything else. If you've put thought into not taking Transfusion, I can respect that. It's got quirks (won't fire off if target dies mid animation, center of heal sphere is too high on giant creatures, finding the right target to heal your teammate) so I'm not going to try to convince you it's needed. Truth be told, I think at least half of the time I use it in teams is for my own benefit. 22 seconds for FS is respectable. The last build you posted still has a few slots available and might as well use one of them to shave 3 seconds off FS with a Recharge IO. With another free slot slot, maybe a steadfast -kb in Tough. I know you have 3 pts -kb from set bonuses, but I'm not sure how that would play out in the real game. Meaning, I find 4 to be sufficient on a squishie, but I suspect a good amount of kb comes in at a number just above 3. I don't know that though. I'd love to hear the experiences of someone that had exactly 3 points. If you're looking to go into Psychic Mastery, I'd say Mind over Body would provide greater mitigation than World of Confusion. With MOB you actually reach 75% (cap) s/l resists. Not too shabby. Something else to consider - I'm not going to say Assault on a Kin is a bad choice, it's going to be a decent source of damage in an AV fight when there aren't enough mobs to fuel a saturated FS, but I'm a big fan of Increase Density, it's one of the game's unique powers. I do believe it's the only source of -repel in the game. Teammates would love you against mobs with Hurricane. Regarding your comment about my build not loading Choking Cloud or Rad Infection, I don't have those powers on my Kin/Sonic. There seem to be so many versions of Mids/Pines that I certainly can't say I'm using the "standard" so maybe there's some error on my end. I reloaded the chunk I posted and it was for the Kin/Sonic with 45% fire def and 75% fire res. I can try again using the data link. Just a reminder, I don't actually play this, it was just a thought experiment. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 7. I'm intrigued at the thought of a "travel build". I'm going to do this for a toon or two to see it in practice. Thanks for this.
  8. Where did this myth that FS is auto-hit come from? This is the second time I've seen that mentioned in the last few days. Buff emanating from caster - autohit Buff/debuff from each siphon from enemies - does a to-hit roll, not autohit.
  9. The base empowerment buff provides 10 points kb protection. It lasts 90 minutes.
  10. Yesterday I timed how long it took to go from 0-badge for Wolf Spiders and Marcs in PO, a shade under 1/2 hour, which included some afk breaks. Got all of HPT 15ish minutes later. It truly boggles my mind that people still predominately pursue Freedom Phalanx.
  11. My favorite combo and the only thing I've remade from live since restarting You've still got a lvl 48 slot to place. 1 Acc in Siphon Power provides more than enough (ie well over 95% final to-hit) accuracy. I'd move one elsewhere I think you'd enjoy either of the kb-kd procs in Shockwave. It provides great mitigation and no one will complain Additional slot in Fulcrum for recharge Screech also has maxed out final to-hit against +3 No Transfusion eh? Bold choice Cotten Chance to stun proc in SB? Uhhhh..... After I noticed the last point, I feel I need to step back, not sure if this is serious or not. For yucks, as a thought experiment I made a kin/sonic meant to be a fire farm helper with a 2nd build. It's unlikely I'll do it, but here that is: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1463;684;1368;HEX;| |78DA6594594F13511886CF994E45CA526AED026D610A224B4B695912B784A850348| |02192B85E3493329489D8D6B6B85CFA175CEFDC12F7E5CAF5AF188D466FDC58D41F| |805FE7FD809A4EDB3C33EFF996F72CD3A98BA3F52FC62F8F08D97870412F1653A3C| |69C919D350AF6293D63A6055D9E0933AB91AC5D304BF35AD22C185A5ACFD7D08877| |3D387560716E2E467146C94C17831BF2513D9B31666333B9AC994EED2F95F4F419D| |1309DCB2DC4926666BE6466334EEB69D2D029BC386FE6EBD79FF334E8B01E66F286| |31EB1DCB9BE95872413F6BA4A6F462C9285C2A5BF5938B4EFA6515C1D79A5D7CB30| |9915085F29DF903547F3297C0EDBFC0F795B98F544BDBFA146C7CCC7C02363D633E| |0773942BE943B942B6084BFB409A8DEBD95E226ECB2BE66BB0FE0DF32D187C079EA| |35C3BEA493BD7EB8A80051AAB91565DB5C64F3721F2E903FB87A515D31F670E821F| |29A7165ED4DA61F470C49943604702ECF90A1629A70E39A24E436F49DBDDC05A431| |89A8D3427FCD89C0358CB30F74DB08FC400A852AC0BB176D73262B7AD3057C1BEDF| |CCBFCC3FE027F2E3466FC57D5FC1DE3D005B1F822EAAEF612F9E26F4F47A982EB0D| |50DBA29D6C7EBE8BB837CFF5DE63D70C72DE66D7091D0CC7BDA7C055ACB55E6358E| |BD0EF6DE00A337C1CF8400EF41E038B4E009503B09864F314F835EF218824719E27| |9B44E603DCE53481BCE88D2C667448BFCCFE65E21DAB967FB186A762499E360D761| |F67B08FCA2E05D2ACFB17337B49D7B98BB987B3967045EA2FBC000F5EB865FA59BF| |7BE87CF42CF10D84E738AF09C22EC33CAECA0B1187ACB580B6A260260886AC7F9EC| |C5393EA86EBCB3F4A54BF45629F12A2551A50C961559A90C55C54C56294736B3D6A| |655BE2DFF0358A3B54D1BEFFFDA928346B9BEEC83F7954D4DCA63589BAE30E6BA5C| |19DF8DF8D54A8DDFC77F08FCE030| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  12. You have a remedy right there on your power tray, you should have been hitting “4” much more frequently.
  13. Once upon a time, when I had a SS/Fire farmer, I used the rage crash for * Judgement nuke. This isn't affected by the -dmg. Unfortunately the timing isn't always going to line up of nuke availability with the crash. * Insp cleanup. Eventually even with an insp combine macro your insp inventory will get full of one-offs and maybe doubles and you get to a point where all you can do is delete/use insps. I also use this as a time to e-mail myself phenomenal lucks and robusts. * Use your end management tool, if applicable (in FA's case: Consume). Heal, even if just for convenience. * Taunt or something taunt like. Even with -dmg, I tend to throw out a Ball Lightening to grab another spawn's attention. * Use Sands of Mu temp (or Blackwand or Nem Staff). * Respond to tells you've put off. Maybe say something witty in your favorite channel
  14. If this is is about leveling from 1 to 50, you should exclude Apex and Tin Mage because only a 50 can join those 2. If this is about leveling from 1 to 50 and beyond, there are all the incarnate trials as well. You mention radio/paper and bank missions, but not tips and morality. Those are my "filler" content while leveling, especially if I've done the major arcs. I would also include the SSA1 and SSA2 tfs. Good stuff. For edit type stuff - I'd be consistent with listen level ranges for tfs/sfs. Most have levels listed, not all.
  15. I give a QFT to your concluding paragraph. Personally I put Panacea in Livegiving Spores, including the proc. I've validated in logs of my alt accounts that stood in it that the proc can trigger for anyone in it.
  16. I didn't even open the build since what I've got to say applies pretty much across all ATs. Legacy "viable" builds will still be viable. Old builds don't become less effective than they were. They're as effective as they were. On the other hand, the new stuff, particularly the new MM ATO, would make a modified legacy build more effective than it was. I'm sure there are some updated bots/traps builds here.
  17. There are more expansive explanations out there on the interwebz, so I'll be very brief. FS has 2 components: 1) a Siphon that rolls against enemies to create a pseudopet for each hit that creates a 25% buff (and corresponding debuff (defender forum so defender values)) around the enemy hit 2) a buff that emanates from the caster that gives a 50% buff. #2 is auto-hit and what you're showing in your log. #1 is one I couldn't find in any of the logs. I just went around FSing some mobs , hoping it would show up in one of the pet combat logs, but alas, it did not. Still, FS needs acc to improve the odds of FS creating a siphon buff/debuff.
  18. Occasionally I've notice something from the Talons of Vengeance that works me over good, and I mean on any AT except my Rad armor tank because those don't die. It happened again just now so I dug into my combat log and this is what I found: Flow Lightning HITS you! Flow Lightning power was autohit. Flow Lightning HITS you! Flow Lightning power was autohit. Flow Lightning HITS you! Flow Lightning power was autohit. Flow Lightning HITS you! Flow Lightning power was autohit. Flow Lightning HITS you! Flow Lightning power was autohit. You can deduce that this a MM and this aoe waxed my henchies then finished me off. You can get info in-game by typing [flow lightning] Any thoughts on counter-measures? According to the in-game info it's a targeted AOE, so you can't just move out of it. Chomp green skittles is all I've got.
  19. Interesting idea. In fact it's so interesting I'm planning out a presence Blaster now. I'm in the middle of reviewing the build but before going too far, I wanted to ask if skipping Cutting Beam was intentional. It's really BR's reliable AOE. The other two are very nice for what they are (nuke and hard hitting thin cone [emphasis on "thin"]) but it's Cutting Beam that's going to be the go-to against large spawn sizes.
  20. Just for reference, here's my bots/cold. It was my very first toon in the new world. I haven't given any thought on improvements though I'm sure there are opportunities. I'm not terribly motivated to revisit the build because, as is, there's nothing it can't do. Nothing (note - not a PVPer). And yes, Clarion is the right call. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1481;706;1412;HEX;| |78DA6594CB4F135114C6EFB453A005EC8B37949637B476680574A7C6222A5044301| |8574D6DA7659276A676DA4497FE01BAF01177BEFE00135D1A35B2746142746B8CB8| |71A5A271E7A29ECC77A0689B36BF99EF9EEF9C73CF9D69F2DA7CDBD333374E08C99| |328A44D33954C9B15B55CD4F4AC2399CE6B19BB10C27B56CDE6D55C55CF86D6D44A| |B5AC9BCDA4F6D54353EBD562D1D09535E38A51D13266F0C0D2A96A2EA7248C42363| |56F9090AE68862E5CAB865150D64BAA9A755B97CB6A3AAB96CD4DADD4B6775FD2F4| |BCCFBA5930CA193565E45297B442C177BAA46594C4265D72B3D77BA89B71FABD700| |8FED41CE2B22C445C16B60DE6279B100159C89F995FC0A61DB0304536C9F2DAC47B| |9BE519FD00C6B7C1E21487508CD429595A93071CE900758AB1738CFD3934D733707| |448587C497DA2D59A70B03642236D66ADF923EA1994CBC9B99C5CCFC57546B9EE6B| |4AD48ABE1DAD7304D92EDAF6B88B3C877E317F839E9FE030156C87576A8FA00F1FD| |34B6B6E9E879B6B7BB866C80FFA29C68B18D9FB00397D8FC0D06370E809F3217895| |F6E4E77EFDDD9235FB8E23766BADE3BFFC61AE1BE53D97C8DB8979C89D0178BA069| |941301A620E80AF683EDDECE93E861E7A6698B3E0E01C3871147C439E5E7E8E7A13| |D0FA8E334FB2E7029EABC135706807F5CAD4633F9F597F1F663910F9975D34B7006| |62002FDF06D51CD209F7F909F0993720D73EFC35B54D74FCFC93BD41FF90ADF04E7| |0CBF855E21CF187BC6EE421BBFC7BCC3BCC5FBBD092E79849864CF6414DA94C29C6| |6C6C0701C5C214F047BB04796D0CBE105E639E62298A45885F32BCB38CBE9247385| |B90AC697C0F3E489C123C5D679ED223820EFBFE7F4A58F083728B10625DEA0CC342| |8B30DCA728392AC2BB55579FF1F4148D6AAD3B3FFFED7BEB96895CF598AE29C7ED4| |3549DAC07E5A168913B2F87E307E12F1BB07E3EF63F62DB7C13F5D04ACD5FE02D2E| |7E483| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  21. A discussion of AV killers should include Traps. All numbers are before adjustments to level and rank. 1 Acid Mortar provides 26.66% -def and -res (it's trivial to have 2 out for an AV fight, so 2x for 53.333) Lots of proc opportunies (procortunities?) in this 1 Poison Trap offers 1000% -regen. Also proc worthy. 1 Seeker Drone debuffs to-hit by 13.3% and damage by -26.6. Multiply by 2x because you summon 2 at a time. "But AVs will just run away from the Traps!" someone may counter. Not if you spam Web Grenade. Traps won't be the consensus answer but it's mine to the question posed in the OP. Not by a great margin by any means, Cold and Rad are strong for this too. Poison seems like it should be, and I can't say first-hand how it is for Defs, I've only played it on MMs which did not make me think "this is the best debuffing set for AVs/Heros". As to the blast set, Sonic is my usual go-to but Water and Beam could offer interesting alternatives. Still, Sonic will stack up an impressive amount of -res which is probably your best tool for AVs in your secondary.
  22. I do believe it can only be accessed in oro by a 50. Maybe a 30 can join a lvl 50 team leader that starts it, but otherwise you have to wait. My hunch is that this may be fixed in the not-too-distant future.
  23. You can convert 50 reward merits into 1 "hero" or "villain" merit. In your case you'd have 1 hero merit and 25 reward merits to send. Note - it doesn't matter what your faction is, you can convert to either a hero or vill merit. You can have both types at once even.
  24. It's been nagging at me that I was so cocksure about the below statement without actually verifying it firsthand: I tried the following 3 tests to see what would happen. 1) Use LFG inside a mission 2) Use LFG from a regular task force (Manticore in this case) 3) Use LFG from an Oro task force I was surprised to see that indeed, LFG will port to the appropriate contact. It did so in all 3 cases. However, and it's a big "but", there were consequences. 1) When using LFG from within a normal mission, you get ported to the tf contact and the mission gets deselected. Meaning, any progress made will be lost. I thought maybe it would be like using Oro from within a mission, which keeps your progress intact. LFG does not. I'm going to lump 2 and 3 together. 2&3) I was shocked that if you use LFG while you're in tf mode, you will indeed get teleported. However, you're dropped from the tf. When you're on a team, anyone that clicks "accept" will port to the contact and get dropped, anyone that hits "decline" will stay on the tf. So, I was wrong, which was inevitable since I said "this should be obvious" that it doesn't work. However it's not advantageous at all. Never ever do it from within a sf/tf/trial. Not because it doesn't work, but because it does.
