Alpha question: Agility or Cardiac? (or Vigor?!)
Black Zot replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
Something to consider as far as secondary effects go - SR already has pretty much the highest defense numbers of any set; IIRC it's quite capable of hitting Incarnate softcap numbers without Incarnate powers. Adding yet more def does very little for that. Also, don't forget the +Max End accolades and set bonuses; all endurance recovery is based on a percentage of your max end, so boosting that value is like adding an extra slot to Stamina that's not affected by ED. -
Definitely need more shoulder pet options. Maybe in their own dedicated slot so they're not conflicting with so many options otherwise.

Cell phones. From THIS century.

Don't forget the Mastermind equivalent: Detonator. Because your pets REALLY need the extra help with dying horribly (ie what they do best anyway). -

Force Field in general could use some work, and Force Bubble seems like a good place to start the overhaul - this power desperately needs ... SOMETHING to justify the power pick it takes up, to say nothing of the end cost. I mean really, it's a stripped-down version of Hurricane, which is itself a highly situational power. Calling that a tier 9 makes the self-rezzes look good. -
As noted upthread, stealth only counts until you do something that affects an enemy in some way. Once you've aggroed them, you could have a stealth radius anywhere between zero and infinity and it won't matter - the AI knows exactly where you are.

"This is Mr. Nesbitt of Harlowe, Newtown. Mr. Nesbitt, will you stand up please? ... Mr. Nesbitt has learned the first lesson of not being seen - not to stand up. However, he has chosen a very obvious piece of cover."

With how ugly some of the faces are in this game? That's an upgrade. -
HahahahaNO. Leave the rubberband difficulty in Mario Kart and let people have fun.

I have, in fact, moderated chat channels before. I'll pass on doing it ever again. Kudos to anyone who knows the grief involved and steps up to do it anyway.

1 in 400, you mean. And that still makes friendly fire absurdly common compared to what you'd see among anyone with proper training. An army so inept it has a 1 in 400 chance of offing its own people by mistake on any given shot would lose badly against a competent enemy. This is why fumble rules don't work - to implement them without destroying versimilitude, you have to bury them under so many layers of consecutive bad rolls it becomes unwieldy.
-
On a 1 in 20 chance? Nobody sane would let someone that inept handle a weapon at all.

And not everyone who teams with an Incarnate is willing to tolerate randomly running into stupidly-overtuned enemies with no real reason other than "game dev is a dick" for being there. Remember how hard it was for Khelds to find teams when voids and cysts were a thing? Do we REALLY want to bring that back?

I started a mission team - and I lived
Black Zot replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I tried to lead a couple times back on live. Never again. I'd rather not play the game at all than deal with the cat-herding stress inherent to carrying the star. This "anyone can lead a team if they just try" rhetoric is utter horseshit. Like any job, some people are cut out to lead groups and some aren't - and no amount of effort can change that. -
You can't. Plain and simple. There is nothing you can say or do that will convince me to endure yet another gankfest after putting up with that shit for years in other games.
-
Kinda like the Lady Grey TF, which is written like a cheap excuse to pit you against as many enemy groups as possible regardless of logic.

Discord can eat a dick. As noted above, it pokes into a lot of things it has no business poking into - and so long as that's true, people have no business asking (let alone demanding) anyone to use it.

Trick Arrow does a lot of different things, but does almost none of them very well. Compared to basically any counterpart set, the debuff numbers are too low and the recharge timers are too long. When you have sets like Rad which can debuff enemies harder with two buttons than TA can with its entire moveset, AND have those buttons ready to go again sooner, AND Rad is considered to be kind of slow in the present meta ... ouch.

All good to know, thanks!

As the title suggests, I'm fiddling around in Mids and I noticed Singularity has a couple options for damage procs. Is that worth pursuing, or should I stick to more "traditional" pet slotting and look for damage elsewhere?

Speaking of wonky alignments, Doc Quantum is treated as a hero by bank missions, but his behavior in tip missions makes it clear he's much closer to the other end of the spectrum.

Crashes are bad game design - the product of a mindset that was obsolete before this game ever launched. There's not one power in the game that does enough to justify blowing up your blue bar at the end of it. Get rid of the crashes, and then we'll talk. As-is, these things can never be worth the power pick.

Nice bit of trivia regardless.
