Continue Timer in league queue window

I’m Psyonico and I approve this message. -
How sad!

Which as a new player is unlikely unless you have someone else telling you what to do.
-
More choices = good. do you have any suggestions what would be in the pool? I’m assuming Rock Armor.

To mez a boss you need at least mag 3.1 mez (assuming the boss doesn’t have any other protections) and AoI supposedly has mag 2, so unless someone weird is happening that we don’t know about, you need at least 2 of any given mez enhancement for it to work on a boss. 3 Acc/Mez or 2 Acc/Mez 1 accuracy makes sense though because AoI has an base accuracy penalty. i haven’t gotten high enough to do this yet, but my plan was 2 Acc/Mez, 1 Acc/Dam 1 Dam/Mez.

You can’t rely on knockdown against GMs, AFAIK they’re all immune to it. Trip Mine isn’t going to do much good either, since it’s interruptible and has a long-ish cast time, on ST this will lower your DPS. I’ll agree on Poison Trap and Disintegrate, you’ll want the -regen that both of these provide (as well as the extra damage that disintegrate gives to your other attacks). i personally have not been able to solo any GMs since the GM patch a few pages ago. When I tried against Ghost of Scrapyarf (a GM I had previously soloed in my Beam/Traps) I got to a standstill, even with Lores and Assault hybrid. Admittedly that might just mean my build needs work, but it’s gotten harder to do it.

Ice has bigger holes than invulnerability does. Inv gets good defense and resistance to all but Psi and Toxic, to which it only gets decent resistance. Ice doesn’t get good defense to Fire or Cold and doesn’t get good resistance to S/L/E/N/P Stone… technically gets sustain help, but I wouldn’t say it has good sustain.

Reading comprehension FTL. In the very quote you responded to he explained that wasn’t what he wanted: just like Foot Stomp and burn can be used while hovering at ground height, he wants that for Hurl, and I don’t see a problem with that request.

Stone Armor does not have any -recharge. Mud Pots only does -movement speed. so, I guess, Ice?

Whoa boy has this thread gone off the rails in the short time I stepped away… @arcane I acknowledge your proof and have edited my previous comment to acknowledge that changelings improve DPS more significantly than I previously thought. @Neiska it seems you’re making 2 different arguments and using both of them to back up the other one. DPS as measured by pylon times *is* useful data. It does not reflect what a player should expect in a mission, but it can give a very rough idea of “set X on Archetype A performs some amount better than set Y on Archetype A when it comes to clear speed”. It’s not definitive, and shouldn’t be used exclusively as a reason to nerf/buff a set, but it can provide a starting point. As I said in a previous comment, some ATs (ie:blasters) get more artificial boost to DPS than other ATs (ie: tankers) but all ATs do in fact get a boost. I used to be a data analyst as well, and looked at and compared numbers a good part of the day. There is still some benefit to saying I have 100,000 Psyonicoins while you have 1000 Psyonicoins, therefore I have 100x more than you. I admit, it doesn’t tell you the whole picture (that the exchange rate for Psyonicoins to, say USD, is non-existent) but it can still be useful to make isolated comparisons. When I did data analysis, a common thing was “person A takes twice as many calls as person b, tell person b to be faster”. However, what wasn’t shown was that person B resolved 3x as many calls as person A, who was just transferring anything difficult. Arcane is not saying that the changeling thing is an exploit and that it should be nerfed exclusively by looking at DPS data. They have also mentioned multiple times that HEATs are safer in real world environments than other ATs that reach similar DPS. A PB with perma-Light Form, for example, did not sacrifice much in the ways of damage to also be at their resist cap (which is also higher than Scrapper/Blaster resist caps). A Scrapper would have to sacrifice significantly more damage capabilities to be at their resist cap, and still, as I just said, they’d have less survivability than the PB with perma light form. Blasters can’t even get to the resist cap for every damage type permanently by themselves.

Can you link to the results? I’m fine with pylon times because I know that it inflates everyone’s DPS. I will say that pylon times do inflate differently for different ATs though. Blasters get more inflation than Tankers, for example, because against enemies that fight back, the blaster has to do more strategizing/planning than a tanker.

I have never explored it, but I’ve watched players use it and it “feels” to me like average scrapper damage. like I said, I’ll change my tune if someone brings numbers showing it is wildly over powered.
-
I’ve suggested the same in the past and I feel like I was told that the devs tried this and the SS purists beanbagged it.
-
Please show me the evidence that HEATs are putting out consistent 700+ DPS and I’ll retract my statement.
-
Gah! I need to get back to my Demons/Rad!

Champions (ooh I feel dirty just saying that word)

They’re referring to an unintended side effect of HEATs and their transformation powers. Basically, you can use the transform power to fire off 2 powers at the same time, improving your DPS. The devs haven’t “fixed” this yet because this “exploit” only brings HEAT damage up enough that the compete with the lower half of scrappers builds, so nothing game breaking, however, the devs know that HEATs that *don’t* use this are substantially worse off, so until they can get around to figuring out how to actually balance HEATs, they don’t want to address this edit: changlings allow for pretty high damage numbers, but since I don’t follow that stuff at all, I can’t really say how game breaking it is. @arcane has provided pylon times in a later post.

Future plans to add to horizontal progression
Psyonico replied to hardicon's topic in General Discussion
The devs never tell us what they’re working on, so we have no idea. (Ok, the people in Closed Beta know things, but they won’t say anything because that means they’d lose Closed Beta access). i personally hope nothing is done to make level 50s stronger than they already are. The existing Incarnates already trivialize everything but advanced mode, which only requires a bit of coordination to trivialize. -
Everything the radio announcer says during Alexander the Great’s first mission

I believe there is a bug with Spectral interface, @Jacke and I did some testing with a full team running t4 spectral on test and power analyzer showed some stacking, but even 8 players couldn’t immobilize an even level Romulus AV in the 3rd mission of an ITF.
-
I’ve wondered similarly, my guess would be the center of the character, so in the stomach area, but really, does it matter? We’re talking a maximum of 4’ up or down, and since its very likely not at the very tip of the player, less than that.

Except human only warshades don’t get mez protection until incarnates

My favorite part is that I chose “Lord/Master” for my pronouns and so now everyone in the arc refers to my character as “Lord Say-Tin”
