  1. Yeah, My Dark Melee / Fire Armor Brute is the most insane damage dealing machine I have. (for an armored char) He...it ain't right. His only real issue (since I fully incarnated him and i/o'd him for damage, with a nod to armor and ignored END issues) is he has to maintain his blue with the two PbAoE end rec powers. And i mean watch it like a bomb sight. But other than that he just sits and cleans anything that dares to come near him. He is just vicious.
  2. Why? So funny. Just went into a Underground Incarnate Trial. Not my first rodeo. While everyone was standing in the lobby buffing up I took my 50+3 Dark Dark Brute around the corner and jumped into one of the giant groups awaiting us. I was in there for over a minute before the rest of the team finally showed up. As they were mopping that up I jumped to the middle group by the door. Followed immediately by the League. Then I saw that the team that went the other path were still working on their first group. So I jumped in there. In my mind I did enough damage to soften up that first group that I was able to personally get into the action on all three groups in the first area. Survived it nicely too. Try surviving that on a Scrapper or doing that much damage on a tank...
  3. I would customize every power animation if possible. My main uses Storm Elementals. You can customize the summoning, but not the colors of the elementals. slightly irked about that. It is customization that still makes this game a standout as superior among games over a decade newer than it. I was just saying to somebody today "I can go play generic Orc 789, or I can go into the City and make nearly anything."
  4. I honestly have no shortage of Purples. But it is only because the economy is so good in the city. I take hundreds of merits and convert to about a thousand converters. I buy cheap yellow recipes on the market. (no rare salvage needed) and start mass crafting. Then i start the assembly line of conversion. This nets hundreds of millions of Inf, that i then place lowball bids on purps, pvps, winters. and wait. If they arent the exact ones I need when I finally pull from base storage....convert. still, when running a 50 non stop it would be nice if I could get a little less....random....lol. Give me Purps!!!

    Unstoppable!

I have a KM/Invul Brute that I built as a short range "Tank Mage" It actually worked pretty good too.
  6. Agreed. I called in sick last Thursday and was told I was "out for Covid related symptoms" for at least a week and a half. Fine. i havent had a vacation in two and a half years. Holed up in my room (with my home gym) playing this game, and finally started working on my writing again. I am an introvert. This game gives me 'just enough' social contact. While allowing me to destroy endless mobs for fun and profit. I do not need to sell you guys on all this game has. I do want to shout out to the Homecoming Devs for not only setting this up and running it. Which is AWESOME! But doing it in a very "true to original vision" style that does not radically alter stuff in a reactionary way. There are some wise minds looking at things before they are implemented. So, doing this for the community is AWESOME. Doing it so well is SPECTACULAR!!!

Another thing that worked better on live than it does here is Willpower. I started on Invul Brutes. When Willpower came out and I did not need the fitness pool to dominate levelling Brute I was in heaven. And the T9 almost made up for WP shakiness compared to Invul. On Homecoming Hyperstrike posted a SS/Inv Brute to one of my requests. I still have that Brute with that exact build in my stable. It does everything a WP Brute does, and it is Invul. I just wish it had fly lol. I keep my temp jet refueled. This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! Unstoppable!

The Willpower one is fine. But cannot be recharged faster. Any "semi-crash" powers tend to be dealable with. The more I got to looking at it the more the concept seems anchored in old live pre incarnate days. Always nice to revisit things though.
  9. This was my thinking. Morph the AE TF into story arcs with a contact. Slap the contacts in the underutilized Hazard Zones, the doors sprinkled around the zone. Then people could solo the content, or take a team and all get same mission for merits. Or if you solo and get stuck on the AV, ask in LFG for some one mission muscle.

    Unstoppable!

Yeah. Been a long time. It can perma with a kin on the team. I have a Brute I am playing with in MiDs. 155% glob rech, Haste well perma-d. It has a 4 min recharge on Unstoppable. So crash, repair, and then go back in. Jogs my memory from back on live. I have done that dance. I remember a Dr Kahn TF where at the last mission the team wiped twice. I was on a Dark/Invul Brute with Unstoppable. I fought the hordes of unending trash mobs while the AV pounded on me. I cycled through Unstoppable a few times. The team Hosp'd it both times. I stayed up. Crash, Dark Consumption, Dull Pain, any insp I had generated, back into Unstoppable as soon as it rolled up. I am not sure that tactic will work in +4/x8 world we have moved into lol. I dont remember if the TF was overclocked. I suspect that it was prob bumped 1 or 2, but prob not 4. Then again, there is also knowing the battles. With experience comes wisdom. You can more or less plan your crashes 3 min out with few surprises as far as AV fights go. Return to Battle to help on the learning curve. Generally find a less manic spot to pull yourself together for 10-15 secs in less high pressure battles. For me it is more or less a curiosity to see how far the concept can be pushed. My incarnated Dark/Invul Brute. That is a Tank in Brutes clothing. Fire/cold res at 61% and Energy Res at 56%, but S/L def at 50% and Rune of Protection up 50% time. The more I look at it the more I realize it is just too much headache for the build lol. Between Hybrid Melee and RoP there is not much that Unstoppable is really pumping. Maybe in a pre-incarnate pre sorcery world like I was in back on live I would still consider it again. But the cost/benefit analysis here is just clear. Rewards not worth it. Unstoppable!

Unstoppable! This is inconceivable! I am not sure that means what you think it means... Back on live I ran a DM/Invul that used Unstoppable. And lived through the crash many a time. But I have not done it since. I am a tad rusty on mechanics. Also unsure of any changes that may affect the situation. What I know. Unstoppable can be made Perma. It just takes a shload of investment. What I do not know, have forgotten, and/or never knew. 1) Is any part of the crash nullified on Perma unstoppable? 2) How much global recharge are we talking here? ballpark (or exact if you know!) 3) Most interesting to me, What powers, temps, cheats, tricks, can be used to help mitigate the, erm, unfortunate side effects? I doubt I will Perma the thing, but I am open to the possibility. Dark Melee is a particularly sweet pairing because you can slap a Dark Consumption right after the crash and fix your end issues immediately. That is also a beneficiary of a high recharge build. I have a Dark Melee / invul Brute parked right now. Fully kitted out with a very high end build. It does not have Unstoppable. But I am definitely willing to throw some gasoline on that fire. I believe Brutes are the AT most benefitted by Unstoppable. Because of the high Resist Caps and getting less natural armor than Tanks the power gives the most bang for the buck on a Brute. If you can keep the monster standing.... capping Resists across the board is sick sweet. Especially since as you chase a high recharge build you naturally start slapping on Purple Sets....filling that one hole that remains. Oh, and having some rez tricks in the bank would not hurt on this either, temps, e-mailed Insp etc. There will be some hard curves ahead. 60% time it works all the time.
  13. In Oct-Dec I was seeing purps and PvP drop allatime. Last two months...not so much. a couple, but I play...a lot....
  14. I still think part of the future of the game has to be wholesale use of the best AE story Arcs incorporated into new content (with merits, etc...) Rather than re-inventing the wheel why not promote a AE contest for designing content for these zones? Granted. I still have not run every Blueside Arc and very few of the Ward arcs. So adding content to Hazard Zones might not affect my life (or most players...) all that much. By and large we seem to be content to (at least as a bio-mass) run the same content constantly. The weekly TF rewards were brilliant. Gets people out of the front yard so to speak. Maybe if there were good rewards for running content your character has not run recently.... "Run a story arc you have not run in a month, get double merits" "Run a story arc you have not run in 3 months ...triple merits...." Then having more content in more zones would start to be valuable. But you can build a super highway through Death Valley. Not necessarily going to increase the traffic.
  15. For me it is all pretty academic. On high end teams (or even exemplared to run Silver Mantis) my Dark/Dark Brute relies on Aoe (Dark.....yes, AoE) to do most of the work until I hit an AV or EB. It is just way more effective to be 'mass communicating' rather than ST cherry picking in a chaotic environment. My Brutes learned a long time ago (partly because I am not a great player, partly because CoX is not great for specific targeting out of the box) that I will not get to pick who I fight. I do more damage just killing what is near me and wandering towards where I hope is where the team wants me to be. I keep chanting "Kill the one you're with" to the tune of "Love the one you're with" I will be creating an Energy Melee / (prob Invul ) Stalker robot. It will be a nod to the assassin robot in Star Wars 5 ...2....errrr the second, no, thats not right, the original Star Wars movie series.. IG-88s. Friendly efficient little machines programmed to kill. And doing as instructed they immediately killed their creators. Succcess! What has science done?!? But while it will be tons of fun I am sure I sincerely doubt it will allow me to be as useful on a team or league as my Brutes. And since I am already only moderately useful I need to stay focused!
  16. I did finish these yesterday, as well as all V-day tip badges. Thanks for all the help. I side switched to Hero to start the secoind arc. Both alignment variations I picked up a teammate of opposite alignment to help. Round robin back to Rogue picking up a few more badges. ( I started at Villain, went to Rogue and never changed. At 800+ badges I clicked through a decent number of "you got this badge" notice when I cycled through) Thanks again. This is my only badger. I like doing certain badges, hate doing others. No sense to it. These I hated.
  17. i literally have never noticed. but i like teams that run TF at +0 for badges/merits and most high rolling teams i join stay on the same zone.
  18. Brute. Energy Melee Electric Armor. I normally don't run Electric Armor but at those levels it gets EVERYTHNG you need. You will be a "God of Posi 1 & 2"
  19. My main is a Dark/Dark Brute. I do run all 3 Aura toggles, allatime. Dam/Fear/Stun. Generally the fear they just cower and get the ghost skull on them. Took me a while to get used to the stun though. Certain mobs, you stun them, they just start staggering around like zombies on cocaine. clueless, brainless, but making darned good speed! I was like, wait! I havent killed you yet! The damage mitigation of Fear is real. I am totally spitballing here but I am guessing it is about the same as knockdown. Stops the mobs from attacking for one or two attacks. everything adds up, buys time, etc
  20. Interesting discussion in game from the innocent Help question "Does it screw up the mission when I enter first?" I said "No." There were people who had some strange responses. There were some well stated responses as well, including about TFs being a special circumstance. Does entering a mission before the leader, or while the leader is in another zone, affect the mission settings? Thanks.

    Energy Melee

From the "More than just a Ninja" pinned to top of Stalker AT page Energy Melee: Energy Melee is back! It hits hard and melts Archvillain like no one else. The best Single Target Damage in all Stalker Primaries with a little mechanic called Energy Focus. Using Total Focus gives you one stack (2 stacks when crit) of Energy Focus. You can spend one Stack to make Energy Transfer fast. You can also spend EF stacks to improve your Cone, yes Stalkers Energy Melee have AoE now! There is also the option to pick up the t1 power to spend EF stacks on a minor regen debuff...it is an easy skip for me. I use EF stacks exclusivly on Energy Transfer. The i27 update was the best that could happen to Energy Melee from worst to obe of the best Stalker Primaries!

    Energy Melee

I was about to say my research is leading me to starting the first Stalker I have ran since a few low level attempts on live. Evidently EM tops the Stalker power choices right now.
  23. Same. If I could have an all zombie pet group I would be running that. So many possibilities there
  24. Want to watch me make this pencil disappear? Pay close attention... Go to the character creator. Select Mastermind. get to costume creator. Pick female. Tailor to satisfaction. You have a female Mastermind. Ta-da!
