  1. Actually i will be doing Goldside. Had actually decided to do First Ward and Night Ward as part of this. Will pick up older Goldside badges through Ouro. This project might not be done until Xmas but it will load into 50 with a truly epic number of Badbes and Merits (not spending any). Also dumping Transcendent Merits on him as my farmers get them. Once he does 50 finally should slingshot to all tier 4s lol
  2. Okay, new update time! (I will be updating these as I finish each level range.) I just finished Port Oakes (and some Cap au Diable.) That finishes off 10-14. Because of the Going Rogue for DFB I decided this toon will be doing more than my Redside runs normally do. i will badge all Blue content through Ouro. I will get all possible Blue badges as available. This means I was able to badge every zone except The Hive and The Abyss. 523 badges at level 14! 711 Reward Merits. There were some GMs that I normally would not have gotten due to the costume contest. (I got runner up on Excelsior!) Plans for 15-19 include the four DiBs for buffs to 30. Cavern of Transcendence and Posi 1 & 2. My general strategy is to do the TFs and Trials as I am slightly over the maximum level. So no Synapse until I am 24 and doing 20-24 content for example. I do like an easy run lol. Highlight of the 10-14 range was the mission from Dmitri Krylov to kidnap Paragon citizens to be delivered to Vahzilok surgeons. People say they do not feel like a villain running Redside content.... Do they not actually do this stuff? Things are going slow this run. I am badging way more, doing more side content, and generally just bopping around. Also, a lot of my gaming time is doing SG events. My SG keeps a full (and fun!) calendar.
  3. No idea. The problem is after you finish fire wires arc you have one last mission. Go talk to the guy. If he is dead you gotta call a GM to bump you past and get the complete. There is a badge for all Mercy missions so it has to complete Lt Harris is the Longbow traitor. I could not tell for sure about Webber. You look safe. Fire Wire specifically has the mission to see Harris listed Webber does not
  4. I have always robbed the bank lol. Similarly for the Mercy Arc where the Longbow traitor helps tou I have to restrain myself from killing him. If i kill him he is not available for me to Ouro do the Fire Wire Arc and i have to get a GM to help me complete the stupid thing. I am a creature of habit. At least the dialogue for not killing him is appropriate “you will be useful to me later”
  5. I know this genie. This is part of their shtick. They never actually grant a wish, they might be able to (who knows?) they just keep asking clarifying questions. I think they are a frustrated Psychiatrist personally.
  6. I am soloing Redside on a Dark/Dark Blaster. This is at +0/x1 with DFB buffs and P2W and all the goodies. But it is a very chill powerful set up. The to hit debuffs do a nice bit of lifting when the going gets rough
  7. One of the greatest (perhaps the greatest) strength in City of Villains, erm Heroes, is the ability to change and redesign a character from the ground up. Sometimes you cannot get too far from the core design. Other times you can get way the F out there and still be quite powerful. Perhaps more powerful than standard/standard build. This fluidity in character design allows for tactics to evolve beyond Tank/Heal/DPS Indeed, more than any other MMORPG CoX will see a team/league switch roles based on the fight. It is actually part of the design where in things like Hami you need very specific functions that are not necessarily just the big three. It shows its head in the varied damage types and the ability of a lighter 'DPS' role to 'Tank' something specific while the 'Tank' has to fade back due to a weakness in that fight. You can play the game using the Trinity, you can also play the game using Single Origin Enhancers. But when you start bending reality and surfing the content based on wisdom and practice you find all sorts of interesting niches.
  8. That's Fantastic!
  9. Also, no "O Crap" power is guaranteed in this wild game. I just took a level 14 and badged every zone possible for it to get into. The hardest parts were Shadow Shard and The Abandoned Sewer Network. This is due to the floating eyeballs and Rikti drones. I had a build set up with Flight, Stealth, Super Speed, Teleport, and Phase Shift. Phase Shift I think of as Personal Force Fields better looking cousin. Still got killed when I had that up. Should not have happened since i was "out of phase" with enemies. versus Rikti. (You can buy a temp power Phase Shift "Ethereal Shift" from the P2W vendor as well...) When the RNG hates you then your ticket is pretty much punched. But I personally like the odds of getting out of hairball situations with PFF and Phase Shift. Not that I use it as much as I could. If I know I can Rez easy or there is a quick way back into the fight I will sometimes blast away with 3% health trying to burn down more mobs. If however the goal is not to kill or it is horribly difficult to get back to the fight when I die then I love options like PFF and Phase Shift to *usually let me break the rules and survive otherwise really crappy tactical situations.
  10. There is a contact in Sharkhead, Leonard, 20-29, that has you fight your own clones some. I do not remember if it is a parallel story line or just similar.
  11. They never said it would be a farmer. The sets indicate it might be. But it might be a concept regular game toon as well Your advice is spot on for a farmer though
  12. I never did feel like I got an answer on how much of the Auction system you could use. Currently deep into a solo all Redside project but being confused here just left me unwilling to even take a swing at it. Also not sure what "levelling once per stream" means. Are you saying this only counts if you broadcast this? Because that is not stated even in the strict (if confusing) rules in the OP. It says it was designed with streamers in mind. Then, again, is left up to interpretation. Is it a tree, a snake, a wall or an elephant? Hellifino....
  13. I am a fan of building defenses onto a Blaster. Two of my favorite sets are Dark and Ice. Ice is fully ranged. At softcap range Def you can screw with bosses a long time. Dark has -to hit debuff all over it. If you focus on that one boss that wont go down easy he probably cant hit you for squat either.
  14. Forty-two.
  15. ....if you have 9 slots left over on a Brute you seriously did something wrong WAY back in the planning phase....
  16. Too bad too because the 6th slot in that is range defense (I love it like way too much...) and the set starts off with 5% Range boost on all powers. But yeah, you lose a hard hitting alpha strike permanently.
  17. For me the “slog” is Sharkhead. Once i hit Nerva there is a LOT to do left, but it feels better. Honestly there is almost no content on Mercy and Port Oakes. Cap has a decnt amount as does Sharkhead. But not a ton. Do not forget to run the four DFBs then the four DiBs for buffs until 30. Also remember that you can drop 3 enhancers into Health and 3 into Stamina ( Panacea, Numina, Miracle ) ( perf shift proc, perf shift end, regular end mod ) for tons of End. Then respec out as you level later. Your low level build can be stand alone for that time in your career. Stop exp at 19, respec, do all 15-19 content. Level to 24 stop exp, reapec, do all 20-24,etc
  18. I have done this regularly since live on Redside. Every contact with every mission they offer whether arc or not. i have made a handful of starts Blueside. Made it i to the low twenties tops. The stories do not appeal to me. The story arcs and contacts are real hard to figure out Blueside as well i have done Goldside twice on live. Switching alignments and doing everything Everything depends on how you like to play. I find soloing relaxing and i enjoy completing things. Others enjoy teams levelling and task forces
  19. I might do this as soon as it is available in Ouro. Good idea thanks. In my mind this has gone i to “how many badges can i get pre 50?” Through content play
  20. I agree it is not a perfectly “fair” trade off. What i think of it as is an escape button. Perfectly fair would be my accuracy debuffed 95% lol. That is why the build i am building it on also has Stealth’s Phase Shift. These two powers give me great flexibility. Stealth gets me many places. Stealth plus PFF will get me almost anywhere. PFF gives me an escape 90% time. My best escape is Phase shift but it might be on cooldown or I might be saving it. I do not think of PFF as all powerful. I think of it as part of a kit for getting strategic solutions or saving my butt tactically
  21. Update: the project changed. And got bigger lol. I had worked about halfway through Port Oakes on the Stalker. Ery successful but i realized it was not what i wanted. Not what i planned soooo. I restarted the project on a Blaster. Dark/Dark. Now at the same point basically. With some differences. I will be “Rogue” for this entire run (with exceptions for Ouro badges) I will be badging all Blueside story arcs and maps and Task Forces in addition to the normal exhausting every contact Redside of every bit of content. sooo. This will take a little longer than normal. But the journey is the destination after all
  22. It all depends on strategy and tactics. Left out of your analysis is "who has agro" If you are solo your statement holds up. It can hold up depending on agro cap, etc. But I have seen this used effectively IN COMBAT to mitigate mounting agro from +4/x8 in farms. Not 100% effective in that situation. The person I saw had good timing and over an hour of play I would give them 90-95% success just eyeballing it.
  23. The “best” use i have seen on this was a newer player. They made a Blaster and i was helping them with some farms on my Brute. They would go in once I had agro, use T9 Nuke, the PFF and run. It was very effective. They died a couple times in an hour. This actually inspired me to do some tinkering with a Range only Blaster. I have PFF and Stealth’s Phase Shift on the character. When in trouble there are multiple options to just check out
