  1. Yeah I just ran around killing the Immunes types and aggroing everything to see how it went. Builds weren't optimized beyond soft-capping with some additional recharge. So Invuln, Shield, and Willpower weren't capped on damage resistance. New thing I noticed: The Sentinel version of SR has a new power, Enduring, for +end and more scaling damage resistance.
  2. Ok this is unscientific but for the last two weeks I've been testing on Pineapple looking for my new favourite build. Tried various combinations of Brutes and Scrappers with: Primaries: Radiation Melee, Electric Melee, Psionic Melee Secondaries: Willpower, Shield Defense, Invulnerability, Super Reflexes All were soft-capped to at least S/L, with SR and SD soft-capped to the three positions. Took them solo into a +0/x8 ITF to fight a bunch of Cimeroan traitors to see how they stood up. Willpower is like an energizer bunny, just keeps going with endless health and regen until incoming damage overwhelmed it, then defeat. Basically the same with Invulnerability, but with Dull Pain it lasted longer, took longer to whittle down. Shield Defense hardly ever got hit but if health got towards 50% defeat was close behind. Sometimes instant defeat in the middle of a spawn. Super Reflexes was surprisingly hardy. Defense-debuff-resistance meant my defense never went negative, whereas it did for the other three. I opened the Combat Attributes and as health went down Damage Resistance went up, to 50% at about 1/4 health. But the enemies could still hardly ever hit me vs guaranteed death by now on the others. Worst debuff was the Minotaur's Fetid Howl which did something like ~20% reduction to damage resistance. So SR is Positional Defense +scaling DR +DDR +recharge +slow resist and counts as multi-faceted IMHO. Shield cracked and died quicker than SR. If you have a self-heal from somewhere it's even better, like with Dark Melee. I tried adding the Call of the Sandman Heal Self proc to the first two Electric Melee punches but they didn't help much. 33% chance for a 67HP heal is a drop in the bucket. Haven't tried Aid Self yet though, may do a respec and see how it works while surrounded.
  3. I'm making a Fire/Trick Arrow. TA adds more control and sweet debuffs to boost my damage. Maybe it'll help the imps stay alive? And I never have to buff a teammate!
  4. Indeed, and given that Sentinels were apparently supposed to be ranged Scrappers, Blasters out-DPS Scrappers.
  5. I'd just make all the landscape and textures more "slippery" so that Supers don't keep getting stuck on bushes, wall edges, etc.
  6. Are they available in AE? if so you could make one.
  7. How about a global account badge for total debt accumulated across all characters? That's something to brag about.
  8. It's easy to do something like this: /bind p "say For heals stand near my (or the tank's) target" Push P when you're on a new team and call it good. I'm sorry you feel useless if you can't heal a faraway teammate with Transfusion. Have you considered taking other powers to help the team out? Personally, I realize that as a hero with Kinetic powers I am not the team healer, I am a controller or corrupter with attacks and buffs and also a melee heal. Everyone on the team can get a self-heal or inspiration drops and I am not responsible for keeping them alive. Heck sometimes I take Vengeance so I can profit off their defeat! Because those are different powers. Siphon Power only affects allies near you while Fulcrum Shift puts half at the target and half around you. So you'd have to stand near the target to get the full buff.
  9. To quote the brave Sir Robin: That's easy!
  10. When doing a respec you can choose a power and press <enter> instead of clicking the Finish/Next button. Can that be enabled on the level-up screen?
  11. Yep, but is there a quick way to Night Ward without building a base?
  12. Is there an existing base with all the teleporters that we can use a code to enter? Is there a quick way to get the Midnighter badge and into Cim?
  13. Do you mean Teleport the travel power, Recall Friend, or TP foe?
  14. Thanks for posting this build, I was just wondering if it's possible to soft-cap Energy Aura on a Sentinel. Takes some work since the Sentinel set is the only ranged damage that gives +s/l def.
  15. Ah I get ya. Lots of sets are great until you're dead. Then you're glad you took a set with self-rez!
  16. This is a perfect example of what's funny about opinions: Some are silly. In this usage does "least dynamic set" mean "clicking your attacks instead of your armor/heals/inspirations?" Soft-capped SR is plenty far from the edge. You can stand in a full spawn attacking you with everything, click a glowie and wait without getting touched. Elude's a great power. Imagine you're having so much fun arresting everything in sight and completely forget about your blue bar. Oopsie! Toggledrop! No worries, click Elude, do a sweet double backflip into battle, and have soft-capped defenses again without running any other toggles *and still gain endurance while fighting*. It's like a whole set of pocket Defenders to give you forcefields, Accelerate Metabolism, and Speed Boost all at the same time. And just like every set you can pair it with another powerset and get a heal or endurance recovery or whatever you want. Or you can pretend like you're super smart for knowing how weak it is and always go with something else. That's what's great about the game!
  17. SCREW THAT I WANT THROWN MASTERMINDS! GIVE ME ARCHETYPE BLAST! I WANT TO SHOOT DEFENDERS FROM MY FISTS STALKERS FROM MY EYES AND SQUIRT CONTROLLERS OUT MY EARS IN PBAOE BLAST!!! ONLY THEN WILL WE HAVE TRUE PROLIFERATION.
  18. It seems like every police station has one detective outside and one inside. Does your archetype or origin select the detective assigned to you? If so, is there an archetype or origin that always gets the outdoors detective? Because I'm getting mighty tired of having to run inside to pick up and finish the Bank mission.
  19. I spend too much time alting to get really high 😪😓
  20. Basically you want to softcap smashing/lethal early, so 4-slot at least three punches with Kinetic Combat and put the two Resistance +Def unique into Permafrost. I like putting a chance for knockdown into smite and shadow punch for lolz. With your toggle shields three slotted with standard Defense IOs you should be close to 45% s/l and fairly durable.
  21. How do the two sets compare pre incarnate, with just standard IOs and no rares?
  22. What's your goal, lots of recharge or just soft-capping?
  23. Exactly. You, as the Tank, are not there to defeat every last critter. And just about any player character should be able to defeat a single mob so you don't have to stay and help. Your aggro cap is 17 and no single spawn will be larger than that. So jump in, pop a PBAoE or two. The critters will fire an attack then start to crowd you. This takes them 2 - 3 seconds, so you have to get to the spawn about 3 seconds before the rest of the team to have them clustered on you. While the team's arresting critters, keep an eye on how many are left. Minions melt first so when it's down to the last 3 or 4 bosses and lieutenants (and they'll be lowish on health already), take off running down the map to the next spawn. You'll typically arrive 3 or 4 seconds before everyone else and the spawn will be nicely clumped and taunted and the team can lay waste. Just watch the team window to make sure everyone's still alive and has some endurance and fly through them maps. If two spawns are close to each other, taunt the second spawn when the first is half gone. Per your points: the Tank doesn't have to know every map or villain. CoH is pretty simple: Maps start at the door and the boss/glowie is at the end. Elevators at the beginning and end of each floor. Some wide open "outdoors" maps or super long cave maps. Boss or glowie or captive at the end. Some critters are more troublesome and should be defeated first, like Sappers, Ruin Mages, or the Devouring Earth that drop those defense-killing poops. It drives me nuts when the Tank thinks they personally must defeat every critter in every spawn and their knockout blow is still winding up while the 7 other teammates already landed attacks on the last critter and it's on the way to the floor.
  24. I have a DM/Ice Brute and although it's untouchable, I kinda wish I'd went Scrapper for the crits.
  25. Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and roll up the Ice/TW toon I'd been thinking about. See ya'll soon!
