Mihrk Posted Sunday at 12:27 AM Posted Sunday at 12:27 AM Hey everyone! I'm Noctara, a brand-new player on the Victory server. I love the game so far — something charming about its classic feel makes it even better. I was wondering if any players here wouldn't mind teaming up with a newcomer sometime. I'd love to learn the ropes and join a guild if that is a thing while I am at it. Either way, it's great to meet you all, and I'm excited to be part of this awesome community! 7 2
gameboy1234 Posted Sunday at 02:20 AM Posted Sunday at 02:20 AM I'm sure lots of folks would like to team up. Best place to do that is the looking for group channel, /lfg to send a message. Probably you should start with Matthew Habashy, just to the left of city hall (or Kalinda just to the right of the starting Arbiter in Mercy). He starts a set of mission arcs in Atlas Park, then Twinshot when you reach level 6, and then head to Kings Row for the next set. Eventually you'll find an easy task force, Death From Below, that lets you skip the intro missions and level up a new character more quickly. Good luck and welcome! 1
lemming Posted Sunday at 05:35 AM Posted Sunday at 05:35 AM Victory also has the channel "Victory Badges" Not much of a population there, but friendly and helpful. 1

DoctorDitko Posted Sunday at 07:49 AM Posted Sunday at 07:49 AM (edited) Welcome home! If you can't find a team on Victory, HC have made it very easy to jump from server to server (it's the double headed arrow at the top of the character selection screen). You can also jump back, of course! Edited Sunday at 07:50 AM by DoctorDitko 1 Disclaimer: Not a medical doctor. Do not take medical advice from Doctor Ditko. Also, not a physicist. Mihrk Posted Sunday at 01:10 PM Author Posted Sunday at 01:10 PM (edited) Hello all Thank you for the warm welcome. I am only level 8 right now so I guess I can switch to another server. Im US based and mostly play on weekends so what server would be recommended, or can I move my character between servers? As how I heard about this game it was actually from a youtube of MMORPG to try in 2025. I saw someone mention that Homecoming had become the official server for CoH and had never tried the game. Ive always leaned more into fantasy tbh but decided to give it a try since I am burnt on WOW, FF14 and GW2. Im surprised by how much im enjoying it for sure. Edit: I see I can transfer my character. That is wonderful news! Edited Sunday at 01:17 PM by Mihrk 1
KC4800 Posted Sunday at 01:42 PM Posted Sunday at 01:42 PM (edited) I just created a new character on Victory myself. His name is Jacob Deyer, a dark/dark stalker. He is currently lvl 15 and roaming the streets of Skyway. I will team if and when you see me. Back when the game was live, Jacob Deyer was my main villain on the Victory Server. I see I still need to edit my sig. That is wonderful news! First off, Welcome Home! Victory is our newest server, merged in from its previous solo status. As a result, the population is still getting started. If you need to have plenty of options in the time available to play, you might wish to look into transferring to Excelsior (the most populated server) or to Everlasting (second most populated server, and the main home to the role-playing crowd). Not to knock Victory or any other server. I'm just conscious that many players do not like to spend long looking for a team to join or lead. If you've not found the transfer process yet, go to the page where you select your character, and look for the 2-arrow button in the top center-right of your screen. That will guide you through the transfer process. Please note there are a limited number of transfers available each week before the amount resets, but there should be more than enough to jump around to different servers at least once and back to Victory if you don't find a server to fit your needs otherwise. Sounds like you're already into either "blue side" (hero/vigilante) or "red side" (villain/rogue). That's good. We've got a "gold side" (Praetoria) as well, but it can be a tad complicated and confusing if you're new, so I'd suggest holding off on that for now. But not never. Praetoria has a great look and some fun storylines delving into the concept of "gray" morality. I'd also suggest holding off on archetypes Peace Bringer, Warshade (both collectively known as Keldians), Arachnos Soldier and Arachnos Widow. These were deliberately designed to be a bit more challenging, so it helps to be more familiar with the game before choosing one of these as an alternate character. You're already level 8 so you may have seen much of this already, but I like to to aid new players by posting a list of common abbreviations we use in chat : Likewise, you may benefit from a list of slash commands used in the chat box. Personally, I use "/ah" all the time (except in missions or super bases) to access the auction house without having to visit the buildings. Lastly, you may want to peruse @WuTang 's "new player" thread of a year ago, where other helpful tidbits were dropped: 1 1
WuTang Posted Sunday at 09:36 PM Posted Sunday at 09:36 PM Welcome! I'm just a year in myself and still learning some of the ropes. It's a great game with any even better community. Go crazy with your first hero, second, third, fourth....ninety-ninth....four hundred and thirty-seventh, and so on. Seriously though COH is pure crack for altoholics. The number of combinations of powers and costumes is insane. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. 1
catsi563 Posted Monday at 05:02 PM Posted Monday at 05:02 PM Ohai new friend you bring teh donuts? My Dear you deserve the services of a great wizard but youll have to settle for the aid of a second rate pick pocket ~Schmendrick So you mean you'll put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword; and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?

I would head down to https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/158-victory/ and post down there that you are looking for a supergroup. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
