BassAckwards Posted Friday at 01:00 PM Posted Friday at 01:00 PM Does anyone have a list of the most commonly used salvage for crafting recipes? Particularly Rare, PVP, and Very Rare? Context for why I am asking: I need to organize my base storage better. I want to have everything I could need to craft as soon as I receive a rare drop (I hate having to leave my base to use the AH). I am using 2 racks for common, 4 for uncommon, and 5 (may incorporate a 6th) for rare salvage. This allows me to divide them up (mostly) equally and sort alphabetically, but I have a few extra slots that I could store extra salvage with if there is one that is more commonly required. Any advice is greatly appreciated! I'm sure I could parse through all of the Purple recipes, etc, and look for common denominators if this hasn't already been done by someone. If I don't receive any responses, I will do so when time is available and post my findings.
JJDrakken Posted Friday at 01:04 PM Posted Friday at 01:04 PM Rares, honestly. The HC Team keeps whites and yellows stocked on the market at all times. (I know white for fact, maybe yellows). They don't do that with the Rare though, I believe. I could be wrong, it's been ages since they announced that stuff(When HC started up).
AboveTheChemist Posted Friday at 01:07 PM Posted Friday at 01:07 PM My recipe salvage dataset might help get you where you are going. In order to focus on rare, PVP, and very rare, you'll probably have to isolate the individual recipes from my dataset yourself. I also have a short CSV that categorizes all the recipes if that would be helpful. I don't publish it but am happy to attach it if you think that would help. 1 Popmenus > Badge List | Optimal Paths | Conversion Possibilities | Emotes Wiki Pages > Costume Color Schemes | Set Bonus Comparison Tables Maps > Vidiotmaps | Optimal Paths | Halloween GM Maps | Winter Gift Maps | Offline Map Viewer Sounds > Banshee Sonic Attack Datasets > Recipe Salvage Components | Badge Name & Settitle ID | Exploration Badge & History Plaque Coordinates

That is perfect honestly, half the battle is logging all that data. I could easily drop what I need in Excel and go from there with what you provided! Thank you! I see you even have it broken down by the recipe level! Edited Friday at 01:13 PM by BassAckwards 1
Water Posted Friday at 01:19 PM Posted Friday at 01:19 PM I keep 1 shelf of any orange, 2 of yellows and a few of whites. Have needed to have 2 of orange just for keepsake but tend to restrict that now to 1 usually. There is nothing that you cannot get but I know having it to hand is useful as it is what I do. If I limit oranges to 3 of a kind there is usually enough stock to assemble most recipes as they drop. To streamline I expect I would be safe with 2-3 of oranges and same of yellows then dump whites in rest. I had read a while ago that HC will not let the orange market dry up. I have no qualification for that so take that for what it may or may not be. I usually build rares and store them in base. On one of my accounts I have limited storage and found that buying ad hoc is as easy as storage except without the hassle of arrangement. It's fun to have but if time is limited it is as easy to buy as needed.

While doing this organizing I am finding that some rare salvage clearly drops more commonly than others. I have 50 Hamidon Goo for some reason 🤪 I definitely don't *need* 5 or 6 shelves of rare salvage, but the drop rates are so abysmally low relative to other salvage that I hate to put them up on the AH when I get them. This gives me time to replenish naturally as I use up some of the salvage but if I find the optimal amount of the salvage necessary to hold on to, then I would feel more confident about selling rares when I have exceeded that amount. Snarky Posted Friday at 01:44 PM Posted Friday at 01:44 PM Do not hoard ANY salvage. Put it on the market. Buy it from the market. I have a base (artwork) that I rarely use and so have stored hundreds of rare salvage there. A pain to get to because there are no easy ways to bulk transfer salvage when i need it. My main base stores enhancers, with 1 inspiration storage and one salvage rack for dumping converters and other special salvage when i want to transfer between toons. Now that i think about it i am going to clear that base out in the next couple days and dump it all on the market. Taking my own advice…. 1
Hedgefund Posted Friday at 02:32 PM Posted Friday at 02:32 PM Several posts above it was stated that rares are not seeded and that is incorrect. The seeded price is 1M inf. I actually go in the opposite direction for what I store, I keep the white and yellow salvage needed to craft my 4 favorite base empowerment buffs, just so I can acquire those buffs quickly if I join something and don't have time to hit the AH. 3

Now you got me thinking. Tough to do, grats! I never use the base empowerment stations. But…. Mybdark dark Corr is always end hungry. Surely some of those buffs can help, or at least protect my blue bar from drains sometimes.
tidge Posted Friday at 02:46 PM Posted Friday at 02:46 PM I tend to keep a LOT of salvage of all rarities, even though the AH can provide pretty much whatever anyone needs. The salvage is all fungible (by rarity), so it isn't necessary to hoard specific salvage pieces(*1). I craft a LOT of SG buffs Each character is crafting 25/30 and 45/50 common recipes for badges/rewards, Each character crafts uncommon, PVP and Purple recipes that drop, rares below level 50 only get crafted if I have a lot of extra components (level 50 costs are high!) I have a short list of uncommon/rare recipes I use in the level 50 variety... this doesn't require hoarding, just mentioning cuz it is on my mind To speak to the first post: There are some recipes I know by heart, so I make sure those ingredients are readily available. (*1) for example, I stockpile rare salvage in personal vault space, and if I need a rare ingredient that I don't have I use the market to sell/buy to get the piece(s) I need.
Uun Posted Friday at 03:19 PM Posted Friday at 03:19 PM I don't keep any crafting salvage in my base. I do almost all my crafting in the RWZ Vanguard base. You can access the AH, there are crafting benches, merit vendors and regular vendors. Uuniverse
Hedgefund Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Fort Trident and The Crucible are the one stop shopping destinations for crafting. You can access AH, craft recipes AND there's an empowerment station. Facemakers, everything, it's like a Buc-ees found its way to Rhode Island. 1

The market (in CoH) is a fairly well maintained non fluctuating place. Even at “buy it now” prices. A thousand ways to make Inf in game and an endless source of supplies to purchase at the tips of your fingertips… but, having fun is the most important thing. So, have fun!

HC has also seeded the market with Rares like they have with Common and Uncommon salvage. we typically do not get to the price point at which they are seeded (1M inf).

lemming Posted Saturday at 03:35 AM Posted Saturday at 03:35 AM I have two common, two uncommon, and three rare for salvage. Pretty evenly distributed (five each of common & uncommon). Seems to work well enough since I tend to just make what's needed at the time. If I'm doing something market related, then I tend to do it where I can access the market
Healix Posted Saturday at 10:06 AM Posted Saturday at 10:06 AM I purposely made my base small and efficient, as opposed to my huge-you-can-get-lost base on live. I have 2 tables for common, 2 tables for uncommon, 1 table for rare and 1 table for things like unslotters, enhancement boosters, etc.) I try and keep 3 of everything in common and uncommon. Rare has as many as possible. This setup has worked well for me. Forever grateful to be back in my city!

Same, when I first started on homecoming I had a huge convoluted base, but when I migrated to a different server I decided small and efficient would be best. Plus I just didn't feel like going through the hassle again.
Ukase Posted Saturday at 07:55 PM Posted Saturday at 07:55 PM Obviously, there are many different ways to do this. This is what I'm currently doing. My characters that are leveling up will belong to a certain SG. That SG has 9 salvage racks. Each rack has 96 salvage, 8 of each of the 12 types for the specific tiers. level 10-24, level 25-39, level 40-50. So, this way, when my lowbie gets some recipe that it lacks the salvage for, I just pluck it from the rack, craft, convert, and off I go. In the 10'th rack, I stash my prismatics, catalysts and boosters in a rack, too, but that gets cleaned out by a specific character that holds them all until needed by another character. When they ding 50, I put them in a different SG, and they just craft when they get the salvage to do so. 1
