I don't think so but I honestly have no clue since I've never used it on a flying character XD

I just wanted to provide an update to this topic.  As it turns out, that backpack *does* animate, but it's fairly dark/dim, (see below).  The exhaust color seems to be tied to the secondary color you select:

Costume request. It's time to spend some inf on costumes for the badge.

I am looking for a Night Widow and Fortunata costume.

The char name is Night Pixie.

I haven't done anything with the VEAT costume slot. So, pieces are available for use.

So do you want a VEAT costume, a regular costume, or both?

My first try. Might come back with others too. Not sure if this one says "Night Widow" or "Fortunata" more, so maybe there's room for a variation one way or the other.

Keying off the name, I started with dark blue but wanted a "moonlight" glow to set things off a bit, so I went for the Celestial chest detail. Clicking through one at a time, I discovered that the lines of that piece flow really nicely with the Hearts pattern. Thus the Mesh legs pattern (I can't bring myself to use the Hearts legs pattern with the big ol' crotch-heart on it), which itself has a nice flow with the Fashion Tight boots as the seams running up the back of both line up near-perfectly.

The Insect wings, Fairy Dust aura and big "bug eyes" goggles might be a bit on-the-nose, But hey, I had "Night" covered, those are the "Pixie" part.

I came up with something a bit more... feral.  I don't know what inspired this, exactly, but I went for a more impish look.  To me, it looks like she's a nocturnal being who gets up to all kinds of sinister mischief.  I had an alternate version of this with the Talons' bird feet, but I like this better I think.

With my return to CoH, I've designed to do some changes to my characters. Resistance Arrow has been replaced with Commander Beta, leader of the Radiactive Defense Squad. However, there are a couple things about my current design that are bugging me:

1: I hate what I did with the color scheme here... for a special operations commander who specializes in dealing with radioactive super villains, the green/brown/yellow looks incredibly stupid.

2: I feel like I could've given him a little bit more armor in order to make his Technology origin a bit more prominent and clear in his design.

I decided to give this a try. I wasn't sure about the cybertech spine back piece, but the back looked a bit plain without it.  Of course, I had to go with the lowercase beta chest detail!

I hope that this at least gives you some ideas, if nothing else.

I don't know, I think that color scheme in general can work, it's more a matter of figuring out the right hues and placement -- and in the case of what I did here, setting them against a nice neutral gray to avoid them clashing against one another.

I tried to make him look like a military cyborg of sorts, or maybe some kind of infantry in a light exo-suit? I shamelessly stole @Shocktacular's chest detail idea because it's a good one. I solved the problem of the back looking a bit plain in a slightly different way.

Some great designs up there! Throwing my hat into the ring as well because why not. Taking a different tack with less armour & more focus on the cybernetic pieces in the original to bring out the tech flavour.

Love what you did. Of course that only inspired me to do a ripoff. What is it? Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery?

That's some high praise there! Looks good... and I have to say, I think this is the first time I've seen that pants design used where I actually like it! (srsly I can never get it to work, so kudos to you)

I cannot take credit for the choice because it was driven by luck and prior work.

I was headed toward Vanguard leggings (I think) and as I drug the pointer down the legs came up and seemed to match with the chest you'd chosen (one I do not think I've ever noticed before). Like you, I have never found an overall design using those legging that I have ever liked.

This is Last Man Standing. Invul/Dark Tanker. Mutant origin. Backstory more or less irrelevant - he is all about the name.

He's gone through a couple incarnations. Started out as a scrawny punk with a bit of a thing for pink, known for never starting the fight but always ending it. I recently re-imagined him as a post-apocalyptic wasteland survivor, with more obvious mutations.

Despite my best efforts, neither really appeals to me or feels like it rises to the inspiration of his name; so here I am, cap in hand, asking the costume community for help. Of note: while both my looks retained the hairstyle, tank top, belt and jeans, I'm not actually wedded to any particular costume parts. Similarly, while I've gone with pink and purple (respectively) for his dark melee attacks, power colour is up for grabs as well.

So - what does Last Man Standing look like to you?

Okay, I have to know... what did you do to get the left glove to match the skin color??

Honestly, just a lot of trial and error! It's not a perfect match but it was as close as I could get in limited time.

Okay this redesign may have gotten away from me. My initial thought was to take the post-apocalyptic raider costume and add in a single signature pink item as part of the piecemealed costume. Originally that was going to be just a cloth mask, but I decided to integrate it into the ratty cape in order to turn it into one giant torn pink scarf.

I tried to keep the purple highlights but it didn't really pop with the mutations I started to give him, especially with his bioluminescent head piece. The golden yellow blends with the skin tone the best while still providing some contrast so I went in that direction. This lead to me giving him a gaseous gold combat aura with yellow/lime "dark" powers.

Okay this is my version.  I didn't end up keeping the pink or purple, which is unusual for me, since purple is my favorite color.  I kind-of went with a red-green-blue palette.  I used one of the cybernetic eye pieces and the "star eye" face design to try to show that he's got some mutation coming in on his face, too.  As for why one side of his body is more mutated than the other... idk, I thought it looked cool (same with the skull belt).  The stuff in his pack is meant to be scavenged supplies from his post-apocalyptic homeland. Let me know what you think!

Thanks both of you! I like the pops of colour vs. my very muted post-apoc look; and never underestimate the rule of cool for costume choices. In both costumes there are some pieces that I've overlooked in the past, so much appreciation for expanding my options.

I"ll run some missions with these and see how they feel in action. It seems entirely likely that this will be one of those heroes with multiple looks.

Okay, I've got another one for you guys:

Character name: Hellectricity

AT/Sets: Demons/Electric Mastermind

Costume parameters: Female body type. Default height (about 5' 8") or shorter.
Guidelines (not required, but preferred): Non-human. Villain/Evil.  She's technology origin, but I'm flexible on this when it comes to costume themes (after all, who knows what infernal technology looks like?).  I don't have a specific backstory in mind yet.

I'd appreciate all the help I can get on this one.  I love the name, but I just can't seem to make a good costume this time....
