  1. So, forcefields always gets crapped on, because it essentially has 3 good powers and that's about it (the shields, naturally) But on top of that, those three powers are hugely depreciated late-game because a lot of folks build up to the softcap on their own, plus someone is sure to have an Incarnate barrier power. In response, people talk about changing the set all the time. Maybe add some debuffs, or let the shields buff more than just defense. But then cottages get involved and all that. So, I propose a middle ground. Step one: Leave Forcefields alone. Step two: Create an all new IO set custom made for defense shield powers! The set would be comprised entirely of unique effect bonuses, things like Def/+10%ResAll (to target), Def/End/+10%Absorb (to target), Chance for AoE damage on cast, etc. I feel like these should only be slotted into powers that require a target (so no toggles or PBAoEs), and don't buff anything else like ToHit or Res or +Stealth or anything else like that. Kind of like how the new travel sets only go into travel powers and not Sprint. And then, I think the set bonuses should be good enough to encourage players to 5 or 6 slot their bubbles and/or forgo some of the other +Def staples like LotG or any of the other defense uniques. Damage bonus, high self-Def, etc. Obviously this idea isn't super fleshed out. But given this framework, what kinds of defense-bubble enhancements would everyone else like to see in a set like this? Or is the idea of making an entire IO set for only two powers not worth the effort?
  2. "Please avoid opening more than 13 super packs or e-mail items in between server ticks while Mercury is in Retrograde". I dunno if Mercury is even IN retrograde right now, or what that even MEANS i just heard it once and was given the impression that is causes STUFF to happen, IDK.
  3. Well, I mean, the servers are physically located in Canada, so...
  4. Well, I remember when the Devs here were asking for suggestions for new badge names when they wanted to put 8 explore badges in each PvP zone. I think 2 or 3 of my suggestions got picked, so I was pretty happy about that 😃 And whenever it comes up, I've always advocated for Containment to be extended to Confuse and Fear. That hasn't happened though =(
  5. That's good to know @Ukase! I'll keep that in mind ^_^
  6. I have an elec/sr stalker, and I find it plays fairly well. Haven't noticed any End issues so far (though he is only level 20ish)
  7. The die rolls add up to 77... Hmm... You get 77 by multiplying 7 and 11. If you add those 2 numbers, you get 18. Issue 18 was when Going Rogue was released. So that means we're getting a goldside task force!
  8. Wasn't me. Mine are listed at 10 million! One of these days, I'll either profit big time, or get over the sunk cost fallacy and relist them for something more reasonable =(
  9. I'll see that and raise you /e slap -> /e smack -> repeat... but not too fast, or the animations won't play! There's an art to keeping a constant fore and backhand slap-attack chain going!
  10. I'm imagining random Lusca tentacles popping up through the little pools around the Atlas statue... sounds like a good time!
  11. Some stealth powers supress when you're affecting another critter. So if you have leadership buffs and a pet, your Infiltration won't grant stealth, because you're buffing your pet. At least afaik, I'm not 100% sure.
  12. First, hi, welcome to the forums! Second: HOLY NECROPOST, Batman! XD
  13. Good luck with the RL stuff; hope to see you around a little if time permits!
  14. I concur with the "cash on hand", though I'll make an exception for Reward Merits. With enough of those, you can get pretty much anything you need. Granted, you're ripping yourself off if you're buying purple recipes at 100 merits a pop, but if you don't have the patience to sell 300 converters instead, well, good news, I guess!
  15. You know you can target allies through the list on the left, right? Just play whack-a-mole with hp that way; it's fun!
  16. Dude was all trying to psyche you out and get you to leave the map so he wouldn't get put down for the dozenth time that day!
  17. Do those even work? Especially considering they'd be put into attacks with a recharge of like 2-4 seconds? I stopped slotting the things because i never saw any bonus damage numbers pop up =/
  18. Yeah, I think some people jumped the gun talking about procs and stuff if you're a new player on a low level character. In addition to Containment mentioned in a previous post, the buffs and debuffs from your Secondary is your best friend. Sure, your Immob power only does 20 damage... but if the target has massive -Resist plopped on them, you'll do 30 damage. If you have a +Damage buff on yourself, that 30 might be 60. And then add Containment (which just re-casts your damage, it's not a % buff), then BAM, you're doing 120 damage! Granted, I don't think any sets have a strong -Res AND self +Dam, but you get my point. All that said, while Controllers can certainly solo, they're really more of a support class. Any team will be glad to have you, so long as you keep them buffed, and foes locked down or hampered.
  19. @Turric The War Walker has 2 generators that make him invincible. They may have respawned?
  20. *looks @ Troo* *looks at the power icon* *looks back @ Troo* I don't get it =(
  21. Perhaps Vigilance should be an adaptive buff to +Special. If teammates are low on HP, heals are more effective. If they're low on endurance, then +End powers are buffed. If the Defender or their teammates are afflicted with debuffs, then any counter-buffs become more potent. If an Enemy has certain buffs active, then the Defender's debuffs become more potent to help overcome higher stats and any resistances. Also, if we want to nix the +Dam, can we at least consider retaining some of it for Empathy/FF Defenders with no debuffs or much ability to buff themselves?
  22. I know Support is already your thing, but have you tried a Corruptor with a focus on Melee attacks? Fighting pool, Sands of Mu, Flurry, melee attack from Epic pool? Throw in a PBAoe from your primary, and any PBAoE buffs/debuffs from your secondary, and you've got a half-decent scrapper. I've tried a couple on test, and it's... different. Downside being SO MANY TOGGLES just to get your defense numbers in a half decent place! Also, the Fighting Pool attacks lack any *umph*, so it's not exactly cathartic.
  23. I've had the same thought, but I eventually dismissed it because if Corruptors had higher Debuff values on top of thier existing higher base damage, then they'd end up doing WAY more damage than Defenders. I mean, if a Defender's Sonic blast did 50 damage, and Corruptors did 75 (assuming the base is 100 here) and the debuff values respectively were like 20%/30%, then the next attack would deal 60/97.5 (again, respectively) Granted I'm pulling numbers out my butt because math is hard, but you get the idea. I'm not sure it would be a Good Thing if they were that unbalanced comparatively. I still like the IDEA of Corruptors corrupting and Defenders defending, but I think there'd have to be a lot of work done with the numbers so that Defenders aren't relegated to Trash Tier.
