A lot of those "anchor" powers seem, IMO, to be geared toward more stand-up drag-out fights, not when a team is steamrolling normal enemy groups. Yes, this diminishes the total toolbox at your disposal, but in that case, switch things up and utilize the other powers available to you...

As you pointed out, it is very situational. Key targets like sappers or quants would definitely be high up on my list as well. Other than that, I tend to go after the Rikti portalers, (Comm Officers, IIRC), there are also the Nemesis LTs, who drop vengeance upon being defeated, so I'll often try to control/mez them, then take out all the others, so there's no one to benefit from said effect.

I wonder if the armor powers could all be made into 25' or 50' auras, then benefitted you and your pets...

I think beam rifle would actually be a better fit to have a set of eyebeam blasts offered as alternate animations...

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Do you really think any theater in their right mind would cast anyone of any race to play MLK, Malcolm X, etc? Can you show me some recent high profile examples where casting went in the opposite direction? -
Hear hear! It can be very difficult sometimes to keep a particular costume piece selection empty/"none"...

I know this is going off topic, but why not just proliferate all animations of the appropriate length/duration?

What is the dumbest way the game has confused you?

I was trying to drag a recipe from my recipe window to the auction house so I could sell it, but I just couldn't get it to move over. After a short bit of frustration, I realized I actually had the vendor window up, as I had sold some random SOs to a vendor, and was trying to drag the recipes from there to the AH, which obviously wouldn't work! D'oh! -
One oddity with dark blast, (and many of the "dark" powers, IIRC), is that the resulting power color is actually a blending of the primary and secondary ones chosen. I was wonder if a) we could get a "bright" color option for such powers, or b) one where there is a better/more distinct separation between the primary and secondary color selections you chose. Thanks for reading!

Why, though? What is your actual reason for wanting this? Is it that you want to free up the slots you'd normally devote to making it permanent? Is it you get defeated frequently, thereby having to wait for it to finish its recharge to get the benefit? Do you like spending more end per second? What is the actual *reason* for wanting this change?

Or having to hold someone whose feet are in cement and hands bound behind them, at "crossbowpoint"...

I wish they could provide details about the proc chance/conditions for the power in the power widow... -
The corruptor is essentially a reverse-defender - they get the blast set as their primary, and the support set as their secondary. They get a chance to crit on enemies under, IIRC, 50% health. Dominators are a much different animal than controllers, IMHO; Yes they share primary powersets, but instead of getting a support secondary, they get one that consists of ranged and melee attacks. Their class special ability, domination, is a separate click power that doubles the strength of your control abilities, refills your HP/END, and grants you status effect protection. You can play any standard AT on either side, though, so just pick what you find most appealing. You can even switch the EATs to the other side, by speaking to Null the Gull in Pocket D.

I mean, all you'd have to do is have your character take out their walkie, do some sort of pointing motion, then have a missile or other projectile fall from the sky to the targeted area...
-
Great character, but I have to deduct points for not having him say "totally tubular" while lounging in an innertube... :-P
-
I suppose it's all a matter of whether you consider "support" to be tied to the AT or to the buffs/debuffs they bring to the table...
-
And an alternative to the spitting animations. I'd also love to see alkaloid given a small AoE.
-
I think a simple solution would be to have mass confusion "kill" any minions or LTs it hits, then summon a "mind controlled" version of said enemies, which act as temporary pets that fight for you. Have the power act as normal for anything higher...

That's a really slick implementation!

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
biostem replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I've reread the thread just to make sure I didn't miss something, but did anyone claim to be taking offense "in the name of Tolkien"? What I did see was a bunch of people stating their opinions or pointing out how creative decisions made wildly deviate or outright contradict Tolkien's original writings... -
I always thought it'd be so awesome if you could call in an air strike or something...

I dunno if this necessarily jives with the lore, but I think this one turned out nicely; A former member of the Knives of Artemis, stripped of her wrist crossbow and sword, who took up a full-sized bow and life of heroism instead. She's "The X-Knife": x-knife1.costume

So one thing I've been battling with is trying to come up with a character that is good solo, but also contributes more than just damage while teamed. My current thoughts lean toward a defender with a primary heavily geared toward debuffs, like poison or trick arrow, or a blaster with a more debuff/controllery powerset, but I'd love to hear some feedback from you folks! Thanks for reading! PS: I'm pretty much open to any AT/powersets...

Yeah... no way this thread's gonna keep its head above water...

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
biostem replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
If the story is good, the characters well written and acted, and things fit into the greater LotR mythos organically, more power to the creative team. If, as some have voiced concern about, modern day politics take center stage, it'll be a trainwreck that does a disservice to Tolkien's legacy...
