Ooh! I like that shirt! Those jeans look great, too! May be a nice "off duty" outfit! Thanks! Question: Can you put the rocket boots on with those jeans? Oh, and I'm using the cupid bow atm. Still, really really nice! Update: Here is a "QueenBethari inspired" costume I came up with. I feel this character would stay a bit more tactical, even while off duty:
-
QueenBethari, since she's no longer with Malta, I just use one of the star logos, (you can kinda see it in my screenshots). Those are great, though! Thank you so much! Update: Here is a costume that is both a bit more armored while also being a little more risque, as well as a shot of the back:

Another option would be to have a new AT, essentially, where you got to pick he body type, AT, primary, and secondary for your "partner". Their powers and AI would be based upon something like your level, or otherwise tied to powers you've taken in your primary and secondary. I can't imagine this partner getting the full compliment of player powers, though...

Nice! So I have a character, (archery/tactical arrow blaster), that I'm really liking. She's a former member of the Malta Operatives. I have about 5 costumes for her already, and they all follow the general theme of starting off in full Malta-inspired military gear, and slowly moving toward more civilian-styled clothes, (so first costume has the helmet, goggles, a breather mask, flak jacket, etc, 2nd drops the helmet and flak jacket, etc). She uses a jetpack, (the more compact one with "wings" that fold up when not flying), so I want keep that, and she obviously uses a bow. I'd love to see some other folks' interpretations! I'm not at my computer ATM, but I'll try to post some screenshots if I can, for reference... Edit: Here are a few screenshots, from most armored to most casual:

What are these squares inside my character?

Can you provide a screenshot of your character when stealth isn't on, with the other side of them facing the screen? I have a feeling it's part of a costume piece that wasn't coded properly to become invisible/transparent when affected by a stealth ability... -
There should be some weight to the decisions you make regarding power picks and enhancement slot placement; We shouldn't just be able to max out all powers simply because we have them. Between the multiple builds and freespecs we're given every 10 levels, character build decisions are already lessened. Let's please not diminish them further...
-
Then form the team and ask if anyone would mind taking the reigns from there.
-
So you're not willing to step up, then? I'm sorry, but it just bugs me that the solution is right there in your hand, but you don't want to use it... Start your own team and get those TFs going, if you want to do them so badly...

Frankly, I think many character/powerset concepts could be realized if they proliferated more animation choices to more powersets. You can already color each of your powers differently, so if you wanted to simulate a magic missile, then a fireball, then a lightning bolt, you can almost accomplish that. The problem exists if you want to try and go in the opposite direction; You can't remove the runes or castign gesture from some sorcery powers, and you can't remove the tricorder gadget from aid other/aid self. I never liked how Champions Online implemented vehicles, so I hope that any instances here are either purely cosmetic, or entire powersets centered around a vehicle/powersuit, (and fully customizable to boot). More costume options are always welcome!

Maybe some kind of Shadow Shard event that the OP is putting together? *shrugs*

Well, the code is "out there", so others can certainly setup their own servers if they wanted to. That doesn't prevent NCSoft from issuing a C&D order, if they're found out, though. I certainly share your concern over NCSoft being involved in CoH once again, which is probably why the devs are taking their time and making sure to cross their t's & dot their i's...
-
Right now, NCSoft actually holds the rights to 'City of Heroes' and Homecoming has no official recognition by them, nor do they have the right to run these servers from a legal point of view. Gaining these things would give Homecoming that legitimacy and quash any fears of the devs here receiving a cease & desist order or threat of legal action...
-
Kruhl Sentru, Are you talking about a different CoH team? There is no 'Vigilant' AT in Homecoming. I also disagree with some of your points. For instance, you said "Kick P2W to the curb. No one needs that garbage", but neither does anyone need to play the game at all. Why take away something that many find to be a great improvement to their QoL? There is also already a set of rules of conduct in place, as well as a way of reporting players who violate them. The devs, GMs, and mods are volunteers, so if things "went legit", there could very well be more brought on board. There are no microtransactions or subscription fees currently, so are you talking about stuff you *don't* want to see added back into the game? Lastly, Homecoming is not the same game as when CoH was live, nor is it NCSoft/Cryptic or even the same dev team, so I'm not sure what you having spent money on the game when it was under control of those other groups has to do with Homecoming...

We go to a few places outside of Paragon City, and it seems that superpowered individuals are everywhere. I'd love to see how accepting or intolerant other parts of the world are, and whether there are any other "hotspots" for metahuman activity. Unless I've missed it, it always amazed me that they never added something like a sports stadium, where we could have speedsters and flyers participate in some friendly competition. On a side note, how cool would it be to be able to visit some of the office or warehouse interiors, where people are just going about their normal business - could make some cool RP areas...
-
Well, as long as it matched the animation time, (so as not to make a power OP), then I see no problem...
-
My biggest "want" is to be able to fully customize my character and their powers. This means everything from being able to pick from virtually any animation, (where appropriate and within the activation time requirements for said power), as well as mastermind pets. I'd also love to see an emphasis placed on balancing the player experience around all levels, and not just 50/Incarnate. Regardless of what we do or do not get, thank you all for your efforts!
-
I've suggested something like this before, but I thought I'd have another go at it: Most characters, (at least that I've seen), seem to stick to between 2 and 4 colors across their costume designs. It can be annoying to have to remember that the particular color you were using was 4 columns in and 7 rows down. To that end, what if the last 4 or so colors we used could either be differently highlighted within the current color palette grid, or maybe another row could be added that consisted of the last few colors we selected? I'd love to hear your thoughts & feedback! Thanks!

Regarding sentinels - be aware that their 1st 2 primary attacks trigger effects, (offensive and defensive opportunity), which is their class ability. Therefore, it is probably in your best interest to take them.
-
I don't recommend doing this exclusively, but there should be an Architect Entertainment, (AE), building in each starting zone. If you go in there, use one of the computer terminals, and search for "Tunnel", there are some quick missions that give good XP. Like I said, don't stick to these exclusively, but it is a good way to get some quick levels, to get a better feel for how a set may play out. Also, some sets like bio armor or staff fighting, have powers that actually unlock 3 other toggles - these other toggles don't get placed into your power bar automatically, and provide significant benefits, (like how dual pistols gives you toggles to switch between cryo, incendiary, and toxic ammo).
-
Well, check out the Sentinel - it's a ranged damage archetype that has defensive armor sets as their secondary. There are also some cool sets, like martial combat or tactical arrow for blasters (both secondaries). Some newer support sets, like Nature Affinity or Time Manipulation, are very interesting. Beast and Demon Summoning are pretty fun sets for Masterminds. Also make sure to check out the P2W vendor in the starting zone - nothing there actually costs real money, and there are some neat temporary or thematic powers, (some do cost in-game influence/infamy, though). Cheers!
-
Welcome back! Be sure to check out some of the new stuff that's been added!
-
I would prefer an alternate methods of getting some defense and damage resist on characters that perhaps don't want or need melee attacks; Maybe add a mutually exclusive pool that has 2 basic single pistol attacks or something, plus tough, weave, and some variation of cross punch, only ranged.
-
ok to ask for Costume requests? Dark/Light Elf Nature/Ice Defender.
biostem replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in Roleplaying

What if they added or replaced one of his regular attacks with a version of "injection" from the medicine power pool, (or maybe add an enemy debuffing attack and an ally buffing one). Get rid of the melee attacks from all of them, and replace it with a simple "single shot" attack to round out their attack chains.
-
The big question is what is your preferred playstyle. If you want to "live by the seat of your pants", then there are some fun and interesting blaster combos that can be highly effective, (beam rifle/tactical arrow is interesting). If you want a more tactical/methodical approach, then consider a demon/storm or bots/time mastermind. If you just want to play a high-energy and non-stop character, consider a street justice/radiation or claws/bio armor brute.
