Aeon Strike Force Spoilers (Without Context!)
Aracknight replied to GM Impervium's topic in Open Beta Testing
I dunno..I think we're a little too negative.... Kalinda sighed, looking at the fallen Fortunata at her feet. The fifth or sixth this week. They had all been assigned to work on Project: DESTINY, but something was now horribly wrong. As they would attempt to gaze into the near future, they'd instantly cry in pain and fall dead, with only a bare scrap of information shared among their psychic link before they were cut off. -
Where do the Villains at Everlasting hang out?

I'll try that too, thank you for the advice.

I'd really appreciate someone's generosity in releasing my main's name Aracknight on Everlasting. We lived on Virtue back since I8. My one regret about finding Homecoming is that someone snagged the name on the roleplay server. :( It's my global and my forum handle, so if you're out there, take some pity on me :)

I love the Infiltration power. I love it, love it, love it. Before it, my MA/SR Scrapper used Ninja Run + Sprint with a Stealth IO as my travel power, and it would eat my endurance quickly. With the advent of Infiltration I got comparable speed, jumping, and stealth using one power instead of two. And after two slotting it with Winter's Gift, If i activate Infiltration, I move at roughly 78 mph for both running and jumping, and if I activate Sprint it pushes me to 92 mph running. So essentially, i get the old speed cap, the old jump speed cap, and invisibility level stealth with Infiltration and Sprint, for less endurance than I was using it for, meaning i can just leave it on now. So, faster, higher, stealthier, less endurance. It is an absolute win on every front for me. It does come with some out of combat Defense, but as a soft capped SR, I tend neither to need nor notice such things.

Oh, I'm on your side. One of the very few things I enjoyed about Champions was the swingline power, and one of the very few things I enjoyed about DC was....acrobatics? Where you have a grapnel, can climb, and glide? I forget the actual name, but I'm sure you all get what I mean. I think that not having this is one of the few holes in the "comic book travel powers" tropes that we adhere to, outside of vehicles or things to ride. I think they are working on some "knock towards" powers instead of knockback, and a "Get over here" power a la Scorpion from Mortal Kombat sounds dope too. I think there's some animations that can be used already, there's Dark powers that have a "pulling towards you" sort of animation that could be recycled, and i know some minion summoning powers, especially arachnos and Lord Recluse seem to have them rapelling from the sky, so there's got to be some resources available for it.

Hmmmmm. Not too different than I imagined it as a thought process. I like the entangle of binding. Yank I picture as a ranged Air Superiority, using knockup instead of down, complete with the -fly. Swingline I figured would be the same "mechanism" as the jump pack. You go up until you let go, just without the timer. Swap I'm not feeling as much, but I think "Slingshot" with a Spring Attack teleport aoe attack might work better. Grounded I don't like. I always actually pictured using a swingline disabling your KB protection, since you have no way to brace yourself when you're in the air. In before the complaints of immersion breaking when you're swinging from "nowhere." I want this though.

I play as if sunset was the snap, and due to some unfortunate math all of the Co* universe fell into the 50% of everything that vanished. I also, without referencing it by name, play as if the Avengers' actions brought us back. Per a piece of my bio: "It's like someone, somewhere snapped their fingers and said "Everyone. Comes. Home." Per hcwiki: Homecoming: City of Heroes has been in operation since April 2019. Per google: Avengers Endgame release date: April 26 2019 Coincidence? I think not.

I think that a lot of us are returning players who had a pretty deep understanding of the game before. I won't lie, my focus when I first got back to Paragon last summer, after crying tears of joy at the Atlas Plaza zone music, was to get my main back to 50, getting my enhancements all set up, and unlocking my incarnate slots. I was a competent player who didn't need to relearn how to play *that* character, and when I accomplished that, I went back and did all the story arcs through Oroborous. And then I switched alignments and did all of them redside too. I had a blast earning 1500 badges, going through content, and exploring, primarily solo It also made all those expensive ass IO's easy to get because I got so many merits from the story arcs and exploration accolade badges.. Maybe others are on a similar path. Get back what they lost at sunset in a group, and then enjoy the slow ride down memory lane through flashbacks. You can never tell I guess, and at least the city is good enough to support a variety of playstyles, with none of them being "wrong."

I'm really sorry for your loss. I work in my local veterinary clinic, but that doesn't make it any easier for me in situations like this. Here's some resources we have posted on our website for situations like this. I'm not sure how well these resources are currently staffed given covid, but here they are: The Pet Loss Support Hotline: Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, 517-432-2696, Tues~Wed~Thurs, 6:30pm-9:30pm EST. Callers are encouraged to leave a message and your call will be returned during our next regular hotline hours. Calls are returned with a calling card and may appear as unlisted on caller-id. Tufts University Pet Loss Hotline: 508-839-7966, staffed by Tufts University veterinary students: Monday through Friday, 6:00pm to 9:00pm EST: voice-mail messages will be returned daily (by collect call outside of Massachusetts). University of Illinois Care Hotline: 217-244-2273 or 877-394-2273 (CARE); staffed by University of Illinois veterinary students; Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, 7:00pm to 9:00pm Central time. I see this every day at work, and there's nothing I can say that will make it better. I've lost pets of my own, and I have paw print memorials and ashes as well. Some time after I've lost each of my cats, the universe has placed one in my path or on my doorstep, and that's how I know it is time to love again. I have cared for a diabetic, and currently an epileptic, and sometimes I think that the universe puts them here for me knowing I will take care of them. Thank you for taking care of your pet. I see a lot of people that don't. I see you and respect that you put up the fight.

I don't know the answer to your question, but Yeet Lazer is my new favorite powerset.
-
It used to be Ion Judgment. It is now currently Infiltration, with ninja run animation.

I'd like it if scrappers had a taunt effect. It should be light, and not something that would take aggro away from a tank or brute, but it should be good enough to keep mobs in melee range when soloing. While you can cope with minion/LT runners with ranged epic pool powers, not everyone takes those. I'm also pretty sure if we think hard enough, we can find thematic reasons for all secondaries to have them. SR's, for example, could be that the bad guy gets enraged because HE JUST CAN'T HIT YOU. However, while I would rather have one added, I believe that I am firmly in the camp of "Every secondary gets one, or none of them do." I'm sure that many of you can refute this position with many cogent arguments, but that's where I'm at on the subject. PS: Upon further review, someone had the idea for a taunt aura in the presence pool. That might be best for everyone. If they want it, invest in it. If they don't, don't.

Well, while I stepped away to feed my cats in between Hamidon raids, I got a tell from GM_Impervium telling me that dual boxing in the hive is not allowed. After informing them that I wasn't, I was told that I and another player were using the same IP. I explained that I don't know how that was, and received "I don't buy it, one of you has to log off or leave or I'll boot you." I chose to leave, and told them I didn't like the accusation. After checking his logs, it appeared he made a mistake, and yes he apologized, but honestly it was too late for me this evening. There's a good chance I had a bad day and am overreacting. I'll own that, but maybe next time do your homework before handing out the threats.

issue 27 [Beta] Patch Notes for May 24th, 2021
Aracknight replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
Don't remove Founders Falls. FF is a great hub that has Vanguard, Pocket D, Midnighter Club etc. This weakens that hub idea. -

Is Batman's Robin just a glorified pet?
Aracknight replied to Snarky's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
A customizable sidekick pet would be dope af. Especially if you were able to choose archetype/powersets etc. -
I don't know. Granite essentially removes the necessity of most of Stone Armor's other powers, though there are drawbacks (That I feel are slowly being walked back as the game evolves). Maybe there's some logic to a toggle that sort of overrides the rest of the set. I main an MA/SR Scrapper, I'm over the soft cap at all times, but I also keep Elude in my pocket because reasons. I don't know if pvp is the carrot that would make me use it more often, but then, I dont know what else would either.

Zapp from Mu Mastery is not entering "combat mode" on my Scrapper, by which I mean to say that when engaged with an enemy, there is no orange ring around the power, nor any "fast mode." It only functions as the old school, stand there and don't get hit or you'll get interrupted type of snipe. I don't know if it's a bug or WAI, but I don't like it. I like the fast version available in combat, with the flexibility to use the normal version as a harder hitting snipe when out of combat and at a distance. Please fix!

Focused Feedback: Travel Power Updates (Build 4)
Aracknight replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Looks like the bug where the costume stance would revert to normal upon zoning or logging on/off has been fixed. I checked logging on/off, zoning, and changing builds and it seems to be working as designed. Awesome job guys. I think Infiltration is now my favorite travel power, but using the ninja run stance with Super Jump is a close second! I know you guys are getting beat up on other strings, but little customization details like this go a long way towards making people happy and helping them fill out their vision of their character. Being able to move a little faster, jump a little higher, be a little sneakier, while using less endurance is just an added performance bonus 🙂 -
Damn son, we just got filibustered.
