  1. Easily Bitter Freeze Ray. This is me every time I cast it.
  2. Something something trans-dimensional beings, moves faster than the speed of light, able to swap between forms without dropping toggles now.... but seriously, I've not seen one in any of the gold content I've run.
  3. Indomitable has been running weekly theme teams on Saturday for the past three years. We used to also do Sunday, but there has been burnout.
  4. Yeah, they did the same with CoV as Greycat mentioned. The game itself just took longer back then, so thinking about it in modern Homecoming perspective is tough. Debt was accumulated to the point that characters couldn't level up anymore. Moving from one location, like a mission door, to another actually took considerable time when there were no instant TP to type powers, Level 14 for much slower versions of modern travel powers, no supergroup bases, the trams were separated - the list goes on. There were more filler type content too before the level cap was raised. Street sweeping was normal.
  5. Do the weekly if interested in larger reward merit payouts.
  6. @Diantane's greatest hits right here!
  7. Here ya go! Edit: Grab this tip mission: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Mission:Tip_-_Cloud_of_Odorous_Smoke Ensure you are a Vigilante before grabbing the tip mission or else it's going to just show Council.
  8. You really need to try Indomitable, @Snarky - I've been on there for four years now and there's hardly anyone left to team with, so you'll never have to worry about crappy teams! 😆
  9. Kheldians getting any more love story wise? Last few pages were good, cleaned up a lot of ambiguity from legacy arcs/content.
  10. Sweet, this is my setup a year ago. I've since added a third monitor and upgraded to an Xbox Series X. Doors make great desk tops.
  11. There's no mention of a gaming chair in the original post, which leads me to believe you truly don't want to be the most l33t gamer! 😎
  12. Welcome to the community! Lots has changed since the game sunset, but the Homecoming team has kept the light on their server and I'm happy with it.
  13. It rained in the WWD SSA. Seems possible to me.
  14. Falling through the Eden trial tunnels or the Dark Astoria intro arc...
  15. Both are met in the arc Caretaker is referring to.
  16. I would say it's the right balance. I have intentionally soloed all of the new HC arcs since launch because teams don't have patience anymore to read through. I mentioned in another thread about natural pauses in story telling - back in legacy 2004 days, players stopped fighting because they had no endurance or needed to recover health so they'd take a knee and Rest. Or their travel power was way slower and they needed to take multiple transit points to get to the mission door, so teammates had ample time to read the clues and NPC dialog as it showed up in their chat.
  17. Was there a Shadow Shard antagonist who was sealed away with magical runes...?
  18. Folks have been discussing how a lot of the new story content has been laid on thick with dialog and exposition. Some players express appreciation for it, others say it's annoying or too verbose. Is this something that will continue the trend or take a different route regarding player story telling? Thank you for taking the time to make this thread by the way!
  19. I share that concern, but at the same time I've enjoyed the story depth. I'm constrained, however, by the speed of modern gameplay. Most teams barrel through content because it is just easier to do than when the game was first released. There were natural pauses in gameplay to hit Rest between mobs. There were reasons to wait until everyone had reached the mission door. That sort of thing is hard to plan against in mission development because while the game can still be played that way voluntarily, most teams are not interested in nostalgia trips and want to get through the content as fast as possible.
  20. I'll ignore the personal remarks and offer my curiosity was on what you consider positive developments in the story arcs as a way to begin a discussion. You described in the original post what you don't like, I thought it was rational to ask what you did like.
  21. Short answer is no, but you can play story modes which are player versus non-player. I actually just started back playing this game, so much fun. Definitely recommend playing with friends or you'll be on a steep learning curve.
  22. It was just before dawn.... They came out of nowhere... **mumbles intelligebly*** ... and then they took our gold and gone to the Americas! I was lucky enough to partake in and post on the original thread of Unique Dragon.
  23. I'm noticing a trend... Is there anything you like that HC has done story arc-wise @BurtHutt?
  24. I'm not sure where I can find the quote, but it was explained to me that damage is a positive number and negative damage (healing) is a negative number in terms of values in the system that calculates for this game.
