Anyone know the resistance cap for henchmen? I can't seem to find it.
Glacier Peak replied to Mindrivet's topic in Mastermind
Edit: AH! You said the "cap" - I was thinking base values for some reason! lol Without adding in any outside or self-buffs and ignoring the other base stats for each (since you only asked about resistance (and not Defense), which I am also assuming you mean to typed damage and not status affects) these are the resistances of each Mastermind Henchman per City of Data. Note: Damage Resistance shortened to "Dmg Res" for brevity. Added link to each Henchman resistance page (click the Henchman name below) for added clarity if desired. Finally, I could not ascertain the values for the Mercenaries powerset. Beast Mastery Howler Wolf: +18.675% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Cold) Howler Wolf: +18.675% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Cold) Howler Wolf Alpha: +18.675% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Cold) Lioness: +29.88% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Cold) Lioness: +29.88% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Cold) Dire Wolf: +29.88% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Cold) Demon Summoning Fiery Demonling: 12.45% Dmg Res (Cold, Toxic), +26.145% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal), and +37.35% Dmg Res (Fire) Cold Demonling: 12.45% Dmg Res (Fire, Toxic), +26.145% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal), and +37.35% Dmg Res (Cold) Hellfire Demonling: 12.45% Dmg Res (Fire, Cold), +26.145% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal), and +37.35% Dmg Res (Toxic) Ember Demon: +12.45% Dmg Res (Cold), +37.35% Dmg Res (Fire), and +24.9% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal, Toxic) Hellfire Gargoyle: +12.45% Dmg Res (Cold), +24.9% Dmg Res (Fire), +31.125% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal), +37.35% Dmg Res (Toxic) Demon Prince: +19.92% Dmg Res (Cold), +7.47% Dmg Res (Fire), +17.43% Dmg Res (Lethal, Smashing), and +19.92% Dmg Res (Toxic) Mercenaries Soldier: Unknown Soldier: Unknown Medic: Unknown Spec Ops: Unknown Spec Ops: Unknown Commando: Unknown Necromancy Zombie: (2.7 * Melee_Res_Dmg)% Dmg Res (Smashing, Cold, Negative Energy, Psionic, Toxic) Zombie: (2.7 * Melee_Res_Dmg)% Dmg Res (Smashing, Cold, Negative Energy, Psionic, Toxic) Zombie: (2.7 * Melee_Res_Dmg)% Dmg Res (Smashing, Cold, Negative Energy, Psionic, Toxic) Grave Knight: +27% Dmg Res (Smashing, Cold, Negative Energy, Psionic, Toxic) Grave Knight: +27% Dmg Res (Smashing, Cold, Negative Energy, Psionic, Toxic) Lich: +33.75% Dmg Res (Smashing, Cold, Negative Energy, Psionic, Toxic) Ninjas Genin: None Genin: None Genin: None Jounin: None Jounin: None Oni: +52.29% Dmg Res (Fire) and +26.145% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal) Robotics Battle Droid: +18.75% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Battle Droid: +18.75% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Battle Droid: +18.75% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Protector Bot: +25% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Protector Bot: +25% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Repair Drone: +26.145% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Assault Bot: +31.25% Dmg Res (Lethal, Cold, Psionic) Thugs Thug: None Thug: None Arsonist: +26.145% Dmg Res (Fire) Enforcer: +26.145% Dmg Res (Lethal) Enforcer: +26.145% Dmg Res (Lethal) Bruiser: +6.549% Dmg Res (Fire, Cold, Toxic) and +26.145% Dmg Res (Smashing, Lethal) -

Is relying on procs good game design?
Glacier Peak replied to Runetide's topic in General Discussion
Or don't spend any inf and just join or form a team! You can hit damage cap (and get near recharge cap) easily with just a Kinetics powerset teammate. -

Nice! Voice casting hot take from the linked trailer: Professor Xavier: Really rough, can't tell if that's upsampled audio of original or new actor. Cyclops: Good, similar but distinct. Wolverine: No.... If that was a one off clip or there was a bad take used that would make more sense. If that's really how the voice actor chose to do it, I'll be disappointed. Rogue: Good Magneto: No no no no terrible!!

I remember doing this as a villain and snagging something, maybe a badge, that was hero only at the time. -

No word yet on Doom casting. I'm hoping no sky beams will be present in this one. -

What is Speed Phase *for* exactly?
Glacier Peak replied to BelleSorciere's topic in General Discussion
It's a free power that's given to players who take Super Speed. There's caveats to its usage as others have pointed out with the CoD info. Not a bug. Here's a note from Jimmy way back when it was being tested out on the beta server. "Beyond running through civilians and cars just cus, Speed Phase is actually meant to be used to complement Super Speed's stealth component to make ghosting through missions easier." -
I really thought the same thing regarding Ouroboros when it was first rolled out on live. I really liked the Easter egg "notes" left during mender stories.

Issue 28: Page 1 Farming Microguide (Maps + Builds)
Glacier Peak replied to America's Angel's topic in Guides
If I'm farming inf using my farmer for the Leader badge, I'll use Unai Kamen on the hero side and usually I'll pick up his demon map mission and clear then reset. If you're trying to farm inf just to have more of it, I would strongly suggest not relying on inf earned through farming alone, but also start selling drops and crafting IOs to sell on the Auction House. -

What are your favorite time travel story arcs or missions in City of Heroes and why? Use the spoiler tab if you're going in to detail please! My favorite story arc involving time travel in the game is offered by Laura Lockhart. I won't say why, but it's a great example of how to make a player care about what's happening! Most of the time I'll also just accept it as common place in the game since it was introduced in Issue 1 via Portal Corps (**I think this was actually more multiverse than time travel though) and further expanded when Faultline was updated. But I'll say I'm also not a fan of stories outside of CoH that use time travel as a blatant fix for bad story telling, but my favorite movie trilogy is still Back to the Future. Groundhogs Day is another classic. Tenet was a good take on the sub-genre(?) too. Marvel started to percolate my distaste for said plot devices after Quantmanium. **Edit: Brian Webb was known for discovering other dimensions, not time travel. See my post on this below.

Deadpool... and Wolverine
Glacier Peak replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I'll say this is movie is probably a few years too late. Unless it's heavily cameoed with fan service (something like DSMoM had), I'm prejudiced to dislike time travel/multiverse settings in movies. Whenever that's a plot device, characters lose agency and I no longer care whether they win or lose. -

They're both fantastic solo and support sets.

This is a cool thread, thanks for the team explaining their processes. Keep up the great communication!

Tangentially, once you unlock them as your patron towards the higher levels. You also run in to similar mission arcs involving the patrons from pretty much level 5 villain arcs onwards.
