  1. I'm actually having the same problem with nearly all scroll bars in the game. 1. Friends List. We have about 11 people on a channel that a group of us use, and the scroll bar does not appear as I make the window smaller (in the Y direction obviously) until there are about 8 names in the list showing. And then I can only scroll with the scroll bar about 1/2 of a name, so 8.5 names show. 2. Guild list. In our super group we have 40 to 50 people, and right now only about 2/3rds of them show on the list. I can't scroll all the way down to see any members who are lower than level 15 (and I know there's more than a few). I have a laptop with a 17" screen and 1920 x 1080 resolution, which is kinda high pixel density I guess (it's a fairly small screen for so many pixels.) I saw you're doing something with Windows mode and I'd like to mention that I've set my desktop fonts to be 1.25 x normal size, just because the pixel sizes are so small on my screen. Otherwise this is a great feature, the rest of the windows and game looks great.
  2. Forts play like a Psi Sentinel with team buffs. If mind link is permanent then they have very good team buffs. Night Widows plays like scrapper with built-in +recharge, some stalker-ish capability, psi damage if you really want it, and team buffs. They usually have better team buffs than Forts due to Mind Link having a shorter recharge time and the built-in recharge, really easy to get permanent for them.
  3. Didn't look super carefully, but a couple of things I noticed. Overall I think it's a very good build, just a couple of things that might be tweaked to make it a bit better. 1. Mind Link isn't franken-slotted, and you also seem to be short of perma hasten and perma Mind Link. Might want to forego the LotG and franken-slot Mind Link, and look for ways to get more recharge into the build. 2. You also have lots of slots in your defensive powers but those slots might be better put to use getting some more recharge into the build. And those slots you have in defensive powers are LotG, not a cheap set! Again I'd consider moving some of those slots around and getting more recharge to have Mind Link up more often. It's fine to try to increase team buffs like Maneuvers but CT:Defensive only protects you (and only melee), I'd call that the slotting on that one questionable. 3. You've taken Vengeance twice but on a well buffed team I seldom get to use it even once. You might consider a different power choice here, something that will get used more often. 4. I have End problems on my Widow (hello Cardiac!) and you seem to have less Recovery than I do. I'd look at increasing your Rec too, you'll be fine just walking around with just the team buffs but trying to use powers might be worse than carrying around a Malta Sapper on your back with you. 5. I didn't see a travel power. Is that on purpose? Super Jump is fast and has vertical, and I prefer it by far over a jet pack. Jet packs work but convenience is a big part of having fun too.
  4. The 30 minute jet packs are 5k, just like they've always been. The other jet packs are 50k. I don't recall exactly their price before, but I'm sure it was more than 5k, since the 30 minute jet pack was all my starting characters could afford.
  5. +1. I hate it when some software thinks it's smarter than me and changes things like font size. Please leave stuff where I set it. I'm reading this forum at 120% on PC to make the text readable. I assume I wouldn't have to do that if the software didn't mess with the default size. And on mobile sometimes there's no convenient way to change the font size and have the browser remember it. The font size for the text of this forum is 15.75 px, which is kinda small. Can you use my default font and not change it? 16 is the normal default, but on my system it's 18. Please don't assume my eyesight prescription and change it.
  6. I think it's fine on enemies. Occasionally I will actually not notice a stealthed enemy and that makes it feel like an actual game mechanic that has some impact. For my own character I don't like it, there's way to much invisibility going on and I can't see my own character. For teammates and league mates too I think being really transparent is a unnecessary and makes play more difficult. Priority one is my own character, there ought to be a limit how transparent my own toon can be. Second priority is team and league, which would be convenient for good play. For the rest of the game (enemies, non-teammates, pvp opponents) it's probably about right.
  7. Just FYI, I have this issue on my Widow as well, with Mask Presence. Well I'm not completely transparent, but it's really close. Would be nice to turn down (up?) the transparency a bit.
  8. Sounds OK in concept. I personally would put this under Mastermind customization. One of the sets should allow you to summon a "team of super heroes" to do your bidding. It should be about the same as other MM sets in power and utility (so not literally your own alts) but something fun and interesting and new.
  9. I shouldn't read this thread. I have enough alts as it is.
  10. Yes, even on live I'd not summon my tier 1 pets on those maps, just so my teammates could actually move around. Sometimes I'd go with just the one tier 3 pet. If this game gets a license from NC Soft and goes legit, one of the first things I'd like to see them do is to hire a couple of game artists and redo the CoT blue caves and the Council cave maps too. Those things are just horrendous, and with any pet class at all they're doubly worse.
  11. THIS!!! I was just doing my window's costumes and realized that I couldn't access any of the other claws options. Ouch! On the first costume for a widow, sure, keep the claws canon. The arachnos costume can be the more standard one. But on all other costumes, I'd really like to be able to choose different claws that might go better with the look of the costume or the character concept.
  12. These are good comments but I want to clarify something: I said the Galaxy City tutorial leads to better *content*, not that it was the better tutorial. Different focus. Regarding the tutorials and the content, is it possible to change a few of the things you mention? Adjust early quests so that you're told to go talk to Twinshot specifically, not just have her pop up as an available contact? Maybe add it to the end of Mathew Habashy's arc, or even to Ms. Liberty say around level 5 or so? I don't know how hard it is to alter the in-game quests, and I don't want to do more than tweak stuff, but it seems like the content does need some tweaks. But yes altering a bit how the early game goes seems like it might be nice for anyone who's truly new. And I agree that the number of characters one has isn't a perfect indicator of how familiar with the game a person is, but neither is it a terrible one. Forcing returning players through one tutorial wouldn't be too bad, and for players who really are new it would give them a little better start and show them what to focus on. (I suspect that returning players skip the tutorials, I know I do.) Again to clarify: new accounts, not all level one characters. With the number alts I have if the game forced me through Galaxy City every time I think I'd die. After the first character (or perhaps second or third, though I'm leaning toward just the first) the game should definitely give the player a choice to play the tutorial or not.
  13. You can specify Defensive with any other command and BG mode still works. Follow Def or Goto Def works fine, and you keep bodyguard mode. If this stuff were any stronger it would have to be nerfed into the ground. Use some key binds and macros and your life will be a lot better.
  14. Shield Defense is great, and I took my SD/War Mace tanker through all the Incarnate content on live with no problems. Active Defense is better than a toggle imo because you don't lose the protection of you run out of end or get de-toggled somehow. I was just on an ITF at +4 and our SD tanker practically soloed the entire thing. SD and Willpower are two of the best defense sets in the game.
  15. My first 50 was a MM and this was before AoE buffs. You have no idea how many buffs I had to throw out at the start of each mission, even solo. (I was Bots/FF.) You kids are just weak these days. But perhaps for incarnate content the pets should get a level shift equal to the MM's level shift. That would at least make them not totally useless on incarnate content. (I'm not playing a MM now so I have no idea what the current incarnate content is like for MMs. I seem to recall that it sucked pretty hard on live. I switched to my tanker and my Fort for incarnate stuff after a while.) Other than that, take your damn leadership buffs kids. And slot pets like hell for accuracy.
  16. I was just watching an MMO channel on YouTube that I like. I posted a comment that they should do a video on City of Heroes and they replied back that they already have one in the works! (The channel is MMOByte if you want to check it out.) Suggestion: have new players start in the Galaxy City tutorial rather than giving them a choice of tutorial or none at all. If new players show up, the best content and the best early missions are gated along that path, so it would be best to start actual newbies there. You might want to consider requiring two or three new characters before allowing a choice to skip the tutorial and jump right into the game.
  17. Regardless of any assumed issues with coding this, +1. If we don't ask for stuff, that's the only way for sure we won't get it. Given that there's now a bunch of free help available I don't see why someone couldn't be asked to look at this again.
  18. I played around with colors and I think something like C4627A would be a decent pale red color to use. Let's see if I can get images to work. Old: https://imgur.com/PiTxTg0 New: https://imgur.com/Jk8HwTc Hmm, can't seem to get images to show up. Anyway, this was photoshopped on a character's name with purple text, so it's actually a bit darker than it would be if it were done with the text in game. Good luck devs.
  19. This is also a very cool idea, if it makes things easier.
  20. +42. I also totally agree that problem is that it's dark. I think there's a dark outline around name text so that it shows up with lighter colors like the default blues and greens, but the purple used is to similar to the outline and the result is blurry. I'd toss out that I'd prefer something a bit more muted than hot pink. Take pink and wash it out (lighten it or add white to make a tint), something like a pale rose color. OK that's it! Please make people in Pocket D readable, I have a tough time in there as well!
  21. I just got my Widow to 50 last weekend, so I thought I'd try a Night Widow build for her. Here's what I came up with. Critiques are welcome. Jazno feel free to compare mine and ask any questions. I played a Widow and Fort to 50 on live but it's been so long I think I've forgotten everything. Some of my stuff might be kinda random. Question for you: What does Mids show you for Defense for Melee, Ranged, and AOE without Mind Link (but with all other Def toggles turned on). Mine is 32%, 29% and 30% respectively. Let's see if this crazy thing works. (OK purple was not a good idea, let's try blue.) 22. This. My first 50 on Live was a Bots mastermind, and I have no patience for folks who don't want to play a MM properly. I put tons of effort into making binds and using them, and understanding the AI and interactions of all my pets. If you're just goofing off by yourself, fine, but lordy don't inflict that nonsense on anyone else by asking to join a team. Right now I have two 50's and my slotting is totally random, almost. Both my builds need a serious once over and respec to fix. Now that Mids is working again I'll have a chance to do that, but there's no way I can figure stuff out without that program, my brain is just dumb. So I think my AT's are OK, but my power choices right now are pretty sad.
  23. Yup, I'd say in most cases (of a set mule) that's the idea.
  24. I'm a big fan of Super Speed + Super Jump, running both at the same time. No such thing as "too much speed."
  25. Possibly: 1. Desperately trying to eek out as much Defense as possible. 2. Set mules. A lot of very important IO Sets go in powers with Def, and it doesn't matter how much Def. So these powers provide a place to put more Def Sets.
