  1. Don't look at me. I didn't do it this time.
  2. So you think 100 merits are worth 25 million?
  3. Updated the starting post for 4 of the 5 "level 20-24" Origin contacts
  4. I'm not seeing how the post you directed me to shows that. I don't see anything about power used, rotation, slotting, etc. The terms AVG and Swing are not defined.
  5. I'm not an end-gamer. I don't care about what happens in x8 maps. I'm not a farmer. In team use sub 50, between assault rifle and ice blast, ice blast lags behind unless my character's secondary is martial arts.
  6. I have really started to love Electrical Affinity (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Electrical_Affinity) It has heals, buffs, and shields. The heals and buffs chain. If you use them on a henchman that is near you, there is a good chance it will chain to you and to all your henchmen if you keeping them near you (running them in Defense mode). If you are running in defense mode, you can drop the shield wherever you are, and your henchmen will be unlikely to run outside of its protection. So I generally target through the highest damage dealing pet so I can keep them healed and buffed which in turn heals and buffs my character and a good number of the other henchmen. The SFX might take a bit to get used to, but it seems to work great to me. Since Mercenaries tend to stay close, I would suggest looking into the IO sets that give pets +Res and +Def when they are within a short distance of your character.
  7. I have a good number of characters with the teleport pool. I can't say that I remember getting teleport with the teleport pool for any of my characters. Back before he sunset, any characters that I had with teleport (as a travel power) also had hover, and they kept that even when the brief amount of hover was added at the end of each teleport sequence. Why? Because I want to look around when I get to the destination before going to ground or teleporting again and hover gives me some extra defense while doing tha. The main reason I don't get teleport when I do get the power pool is that I enjoy flying much better. When it comes down to it, flight is the best travel power for superheroes (regular flight or mystic flight ... heck, even the P2W flights). Don't get me wrong. I love super leap (regardless of which kind). But I like evasion more than I like superspeed, and I like superspeed more than teleport. Some of that comes from character conception. I am a character conception player after all.
  8. The answer to this is simple. Increase the distance for teleport to that which can be traveled in one jump and make the execution time (travel time) the same as using flight with afterburner for the same distance. -or- decrease the endurance cost for teleport so that it cost the same amount of end to travel the same distance with flight with afterburner active.
  9. It isn't any more trolling and adding absolutely nothing to the "post" than saying :: That's obvious. It adds absolutely nothing to the "post". Your main comment is that you dislike Corruptors and simply because they don't do level of damage that blasters do. That too is obvious. EDIT: Oh, and I did add something to the thread with that post ... humor that other people appreciated. So I'll say something about the comparing Blasters to Corruptors if that is necessary to respond to your defensive knee-jerk reaction to me pointing out the obvious nature of your statement. Corruptors are more like defenders than they are like blasters. Obviously, Corruptors have no melee powers to speak of. Instead they have heals which reduces the number of damage dealing powers they have access to. A better comparison would be Blasters vs Dominators from a damage standpoint, and that is really the main point of Blasters.
  10. Big shock that two different archetypes would be "totally different things".
  11. There were people buying hundreds of winter packs last year at the discount price. I think that is why they aren't on sale any more. Who would have done such a thing?!
  12. absolutes are often wrong. I like Ice blast, but, like all slow sets, they generally take longer to defeat foes.
  13. long ranged attacks, multiple powers to keep targets at a distance, multiple damage types, a power debuff defense (which one can use one when held if a Blaster) Pair it with devices and you get even more powers to keep enemies at a distance, blind foes, and stealth yourself. Move in. Pick off high level targets or minions on the fringes. Fall back and take out whatever targets get through your traps. it's not bulldozing. It's finessing the powers. The damage is good and there are several powers in the Assault Rifle set that can really make a difference if you have a good tanker on your team that knows how to use taunt.
  14. every character that I threw a duplicating gift to in the AE room in PD was a success. I think a huge number of players either don't know what it is or don't care. I just think it is fun to run around giving presents to people.
  15. Well, they didn't ask me. I enjoy assault rifle when I play it. I'm fine with the set. Some people only play one way. They play the way they want instead of working with a power set and using it to it's advantage.
  16. I run into new players all the time, but I don't power level to 50 in the AE. I have well over 150 characters at this point and have a habit of keeping on making more .... I guess it's the Kirby in me. It's fun to run with new players and watch/help them figure things out ... without being too heavy-handed about it.
  17. when you see a crowded area, run to the pocket D and get duplicating gift and run around the crowded areas to share the joy ... works best in Atlas!
  18. I should have addressed this before, but most "hunts" do have an ambush that targets the team leader, but the teams tend to zone to the next area before the ambush can arrive. This is more noticeable if the team just stays at the door after a mission when the next mission comes up as an ambush. Sometimes the "hunt" ambush is even large enough to cover the hunt requirement.
  19. So you want the game as it was originally? 1 "Through the Looking Glass" Raised the level cap from 40 to 50, introduced new high level enemy groups and zones for these levels, and added a tailor feature allowing players to alter character costumes. June 9, 2004 No tailor. No characters over level 40. No auction house. No Rogue Isles. No supergroup bases. No PVP. No power customization. No Praetoria. No 2nd tier travel powers until level 14? You can impose all of that on yourself whenever you like. You can make a supergroup of people that impose all that on themselves. But one of you will have to be level 10 before you can create a supergroup (which won't have a base, of course) because that's the "Classic" way to play. There is no reason to force that on other people. And I have to admit, there is a huge influx of low-numbers posters coming on and more or less trolling this community.
  20. I think you kind of nailed it there :: No one is is forcing you to use the P2W, Null the Gull, or the AE. I ran into new players within 12 hours that didn't know what the P2W was. I'm assuming if that is the case, then they have no idea what Null the Gull is either. AE? There has been a lot less /lfg about AE farms lately. If this is the way you want to play, you can do it without changing any server or forcing other people to play the way that you want to play. Heck, you want to get back to the basics then don't use any IOs or IO sets and don't use the auction house at all. If you want trade, there is a chat for that or hang out at Wentworth and post in /LFG that you are meeting up to trade items ... I mean if you are trying to play "Classic" then why not go all the way? That's your decision. It doesn't need to be forced on another server and the people that already play there. I don't play farms. I rarely use the AE, but one of the first things I do when I make a new character is to go to the P2W and Null the Gull. The P2W is both good and bad. I don't know if you played when the safest way across the hollows was on unslotted hover. You could pretty much make a meal and eat it by the time you made it to the mission door on the far side of the map. Even without x2 XP, it is still easy to outlevel contacts now that we can change the difficulty and have the ability to run content at higher difficulties (often due to being able to slot SOs if not IO's or IO sets ... I remember when I couldn't scrap enough influence together to fill my slots with training enhancements pre-Auction House). Heck, why not force full Classic on players. No 2nd Tier travel powers until level 14. No SG bases. A much smaller selection of costume parts. No power customization. No Rogue Isles. No Praetoria. No Hollows. No Striga .... no content that wasn't in the original game so that means no characters over level 40. 1 "Through the Looking Glass" Raised the level cap from 40 to 50, introduced new high level enemy groups and zones for these levels, and added a tailor feature allowing players to alter character costumes.
