  1. completed mmm, 50%? of the content. Huge numbers of blue contacts for instance, but maybe 60-70% of redside contacts. Also, I haven't pvp'd since early in live when pvp just came out, right around the introduction of set ios; mostly i played in the one spot to get points or whatever to buy the awesome insps, or in rv because taking points and getting big mechs was/is fun, especially if you exclude the pvp.
  2. I think you have this backwards: "Trick arrow who just makes everyone else cry in the corner"
  3. (not Ukase's post) I have a fender that supports just herself, but primarily, she is set for self support (near perma- max damage, perma max resist). The rest of the team getting near perma overgrowth and perma +res is just an added bonus, but definitely not her target. Those bonuses are nothing to sneeze at though.
  4. Just to make a point, I ran with two teams this morning doing Apex/TM. One team was 1 sent, 1 blaster, the rest trollers and fenders. One team was 2 blasters, the rest cors and trollers. We steamrolled the hell out of those 4 mishs. There was no melee whatsoever. People were all over the board for powerpicks and power sets, yet the slowest we ran of the 4 mishs was 19 minutes, the rest 17 or under. If you would like to see how a carefree, no tank, no melee team works, message my global. I am on excelsior. I will take any scrub thats available, from level 1 to level 50, and guarantee you will be surprised, and might even change your mind. Level 1 scrubs can DEFINITELY be helpful, believe it or not. (trick arrow, that net thingy that does huge -resist for example, that you pick up at level 1).
  5. My first ice/ice dom (first dom period) was a massive fail. This was before perma anything, and the fact that my soft controls just werent as good as say, earth, was saddening. 😕 I went back every few years but it just never got better!
  6. It would be nice if the devs could give us a _real_ challenge that isnt hackage at +4 max.
  7. There is a whole host of tanks that zing not because of their primary, but synergy with or specifically because of pool powers or their secondary. It is extremely feasible for a tank with dark melee, or with energy melee, to do GOBS of damage, even in aoe, which then triggers gobs of gauntlet hits and drives the tanks threat way up for enhanced taunt effect. Further, a tank with something like dark melee is pumping huge tohit debuffs into the enemies. That is something they just dont get from their primary.
  8. I have been wiped on a ultra twinked out rad brute by, of all things, carnies. Flash, or double flash, and thats it. You hit anything and they just whittle you down with double-damage temp psi damage, and its all over.
  9. Thats why the tank/brute should have lots of recharge and fold space!
  10. So... I eschewed most of the "expensive" things, and took neither tough nor weave, but have found myself in most circumstances to be stupidly resilient. 11. Opportunity is a giant waste of time. I ignore its mechanic entirely. I also dont have the sentinel ato's slotted either, having preferred frankenslotting powertransfer _heavily_ (3 or 4 slots pt in almost every attack in elec blast, plus some in pool powers (elec/regen)) to build in massive boost to my regen secondary. I don't like mez. At all. Anything that makes me mez proof is a win in my book, and sentinels have it in spades. Elec/regen is what I have always wanted a blaster to be for me, and its a win. 😄
  12. Mr G's arc is amazing. My all time fav content is Mr G and #6.
  13. A few problems. Any boss is going to require _two_ applications of a hold to mez. Period. Without hold duration in the power, overlapping sufficient mez status on a boss is dependent on multiple sources of mez, which means recharge, mez duration, and accuracy! 2 accuracy SOs does nothing for you to get overlap of mez duration sufficient to overcome mez protect/resist that bosses have. The same is true to a lesser degree with lts. You can mez them generally with a single application, but the mez doesnt (afaik) last as long as it would on a minion. Soft control like ice slick works well because soft control, its not binary. Load up on things like slows and kd with ice control, and learn to work the soft control aspect of the set.
  14. Sentinels are surprisingly good, but you have to consider that single target damage is not their forte. They get more mileage out of aoes (with some weird sort of distance-damage sliding scale thingy I believe), they can be tough as nails, and you wont get rickrolled like a blaster due to mez. Or you can do atypical things like nature/whatever/darkness permasouldrain perma-ish overgrowth and just be at or nearly at damage cap _on a defender_ almost all the time. That is no small amount of damage! If you are REALLY worried about mez, you got elec/whatever/darkness defenders with a portable +res/mezprotect bubble for yourself and your team. CT into melee under stealth, pop your bubble, souldrain, pbaoe, profit.
  15. However, if you just want inf now and look at the horizon, the convert uncommons to rares can be very profitable _at scale_, rather than on the merit of a single conversion. If I can convert 100 uncommons to rares in 10 minutes or less, and net 700k per uncommon, thats a lot of cash. It just isnt in piles of 3,4,5 million per, but like 800k, 1m, 1.2 m (the occasional 2 m). Thats the lazy persons way to money via converters, and it is extremely efficient, but again at scale, rather than individually.
  16. generic ios work great, and if you have a multibuild char, generics are the way to go, until you settle on what flavor of build you like the most.
  17. I can market. I can market very well. I do not market. Pushing a few buttons, 1234 shift1234 and idly chatting with friends is easier than focusing on rnjesus w/ converters and the flipping and the marketlookup to see if something that dajesus dropped for my 2 converters is worth saving, selling, or converting again. One takes brain power. The other removes the brain from being used. I don't play to think, I play to NOT think, so marketing for me is an onerous job that gets done when I have a build i REALLY want to play and want it "nao" vrs in a few months of "farming-lite"
  18. dm/bio is stupid damage in a group, since you get offensive mode + soul drain. it requires a lot of recharge to perma souldrain though, but you get gobs and gobs and gobs of aoe damage... very solid combo. the -tohit from dm helps offset the weird sort of dual nature of bio's mix of resist and defense.
  19. powexec target self or somesome. You can get a LOT of crap to fire on your head, which gets it easy for you to mash macros to treat everything as a pbaoe. Goes a long way for "alternate playstyle" executions!
  20. Uh. No. You can farm with pretty much anything, at a level that is comfortable to you, and make progress towards goals. I know this, having run a farmer from 20 to 50, SOLO, and built the entire build as I went off content and proceeds that dropped to buy attuneds that would make it more profitable at 50. So no. You do not need all that crap to farm if you keep your goals and capabilities focused on reality, and move slowly, _at your own pace_. Farming at 2x4 no bosses is no less farming than 4x8 and the kitchen sink; it just might be slower than what YOU think constitutes "farming".
