I don't get the complaints. This is an optional difficulty level for incarnate level players that want to enjoy challenging team play that requires a balanced team. You can literally play ALL other content in the game at the usual difficulty levels. Can you not allow us to have this one thing while you continue to enjoy the other, huge variety of content, as usual? 🤷♂️

Can We Stop Dogpiling, Please?
Triumphant replied to GraspingVileTerror's topic in General Discussion
Well, with regard to being a "Forum Cop", I think there is a very notable difference between encouraging a general attitude of friendliness and understanding, as opposed to directly confronting and chastising a specific forum member directly (encroaching on the mods territory). The former (in my view, at least) is acceptable, while the latter is not. Of course, I would be remiss if I did not admit that I HAVE been guilty of the latter, from time to time. Sometimes a person posts something that rubs you the wrong way, and you have a knee jerk reaction and start typing instead of taking a breath and considering the wisdom (or lack thereof) of your reply. This topic has been a good reminder about taking that moment of consideration before clicking the submit button, so I appreciate it for that. 👍 -
Looks like a fun ride, regardless. 😁👍

My energy/energy blaster is actually built somewhat along the lines of this philosophy. Defenses in the 30's, but knockbacks everything in sight, constantly cycling through knockback attacks, over and over again. Works surprisingly well, actually. Also, it's a heap of fun bouncing everything around. 😁

Can We Stop Dogpiling, Please?

I'm torn. I do think the constant use of the /jranger meme is a bad look for our community. On the other hand, I can sympathize with those that feel a particular forum member is beating a dead horse, over and over again. This can feel like (and, perhaps is, at times) trolling. Maybe just try to be more diplomatic and less snarky (Sorry Snarky! 😛) when replying to these sorts of comments. If you really think someone is trolling, flag them for the mods, and so on. -
... okay, I'm not gonna lie, that was funny. 😄

Lol. Yeah, I guess Return to Battle could be construed as a bit of overkill (overrez?) 😛
-
I just try to keep the bar as full as I can. I've never gotten it completely full, but it usually stays at like 80+ % full once I really get my aggro on.
-
I don't know why you would spend the time and money to upgrade SO's EVERY level. You can upgrade them every 5 or so levels and that should be sufficient.
-
Or take Willpower set and get the T9. You can recharge reduction that down to 2 minutes or less. Buy Return to Battle for an extra layer of rez. If you're dying more often than that, you got yourself a serious build problem. I try to get resuscitate for my teammates, as soon as I can afford to buy it from P2W vendor.

Tanks are cool. I have a Tier 3 incarnate Rad/TW that is nigh indestructible. However, his damage output is nothing compared to my scrappers and brutes, so I can't agree with you from the damage perspective. FWIW, Blasters are the most overpowered AT, imo. Such things are subjective, of course- but I think group play bears this out. I'm looking forward to the new Doc Aeon Strike force that's coming out, as this may (hopefully) provide a challenge requiring groups to leverage a broad selection of AT's to achieve victory.

crafting Craft & Convert: Detailed Step-by-Step Guide
Triumphant replied to Shinobu's topic in Guides
My advice: Just list everything at 1 insp. You'll lose money sometimes but, overall, you'll still turn a tidy profit. No hassle and you can get back to playing the game right away. -
/jranger To the OP and to all of the replies to the OP. You guys are right, this is so fun. Woo.

Would I be better off transferring to a US server?
Triumphant replied to Mnemonic's topic in Reunion (EU)
Lag is probably more likely if you're an American playing on Reunion, as we have such notoriously bad internet service thanks to throttling and the like. 😛 -
What's Your Opinion on Edgelords/Edgier Characters?
Triumphant replied to teamtr's topic in Roleplaying
I tend to be more opinionated about RP when playing in a different setting. But the super-hero genre lends itself to tropy archetypes and over-the-top personalities so, in this case, I think any flavor of edgelord (or any other trope) can pretty much fit in just fine. -
@Bros Ex Machina Technically you're correct, but Mystic Flight allows for faster travel because you can use the teleport ability that it provides, while in the air, to cover vast amounts of distance quickly (more quickly than with any flight power). If you want speed and utility, Mystic Flight is the better choice IMO.

Cool. I may have to revisit that set and develop a concept based on a Ronin type character. 😎

No experience with Katana but I love Dual Blades. I chose Dual Blades over Katana simply because I like the animations better and it fit more character concept. DB feels like a very fast/active set to me, which can be fun. Damage is a barrage of little cuts over time. You sort of nickel and dime the enemy to death. It's like feeding them slowly into a wood chipper, an inch at a time. lol

My favorite armor sets are SR, WP, and Rad. I'm not a super efficient builder, but they all work very well for me. I also like to have at least one unplugged hole/weakness to make play more challenging and my character more interesting (even superman could be wrecked by magic or kryptonite). SR= IT's a cinch to cap defenses and Ialmost never get hit. When I DO get hit, it hurts like a b***h, though. WP= Decent protection against everything but not as good at avoiding faceplants as the other two. HOWEVER, your T9, properly slotted with recharge reduction allows you to faceplant and get right back up again, every 2 minutes or so, which makes me feel unconquerable. This is batman or captain america getting beaten down by a super powered foe, then pulling themselves to their feet again, battered and bloody, because they simply WILL NOT QUIT. It's one of the few T9's that actually sell the entire set to me. Rad= Taking little to no damage from most attacks (Except cold and psi, which I have holes in- cold more so than psi) and being able to heal damage on those attacks every minute gives him amazing resiliency and staying power. Almost any armor set can be fun, though. It sort of comes down to 1) Personal preference/play style and 2) How focused you are on maximizing performance/efficiency in all areas.

Would I be better off transferring to a US server?
Triumphant replied to Mnemonic's topic in Reunion (EU)
If you switch to a server with a larger population, there is going to be a better chance that you can find other players that like to play with just SO's. However, most people seem to level to 50 pretty quickly, so I think you'll still find it challenging to join PUG's. Your best bet is probably to start your own PUG's on a high-pop server with something like: SO only, lvl 27 radio missions lfm. Or a similar tagline. -
Really? Seemed like they didn't, to me.

Although honestly (even though it's fun to set it on fire) I think the oil slick is much more useful as an oil slick that makes everything in the area fall down, over and over again.

Ah, okay. I see what you mean. Would not be interested in that, then. -
Extract Character Models for 3D printing?
Triumphant replied to ParagonMan's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
@battlewraith A reasonable question. Don't know, though. I'd have to see an actual prototype to judge. Maybe someone who has done this (assuming that anyone has) can post a pic of the result?
