Any way to disable animated GIFS?
Heraclea replied to Riverdusk's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
Most browsers can do this in their settings somewhere. -
Wondering about this. Do they look different to thread creators?

Got rid of 'Alara'. Good costume but the concept called for Super Strength and I'm not bothering with leveling one until it's fixed.

I generally don't make hitting soft caps a total priority for a Dark Melee character. All of your single target attacks and Shadow Maul do -tohit on the mobs, which is the moral equivalent to defense against those mobs. But if you are /SR softcapping is so easy that there's no reason not to. I would also consider Touch of Fear a must take power for similar reasons. It has the biggest debuff of all of your attacks and is reliable control.

What's considered a lot of wealth in the game?

Totally unrelated question: do the polls work anymore? I see 49 votes and no results. -
What's considered a lot of wealth in the game?

I do use converters - fairly often, although I intensely dislike gambling or anything where the outcome depends on chance. But I don't sell the resulting enhancement; I run them only until it lands on something one of my alts will find useful, and then I use it myself. I'm also used to the idea that it will take a long time before I fully IO out a character. -

I am poor as a church mouse, it seems. The richest single character I have has around 60 million inf on her. Most of my other 50s have comparable amounts, from around 20 to 50 million. If I put it all together it would probably be close to 200-300 million. I buy very little with inf. I buy recipes and ATOs with merits. I believe that paying for those things with inf, over time, creates a difficult environment for new players. Nobody ever got billions of inf fighting mobs. My farming is different, being entirely task force oriented, so I have more than adequate merits to buy recipes for builds. My builds are improvisational in any case, often focused around lucky drops. I have lowbie task force farmer characters built to run stuff like Synapse and Citadel for the merits, which I use when a character doesn't have enough for what she needs by herself. All of my mezz protected characters farm tips for merits as well. The only difference for me between Homecoming and i23 is that I don't run Architect like I used to. Used to be that I bought all needed salvage with AE tickets. I now do buy some salvage for crafting with inf. I only do this because salvage prices have been given a ceiling here, and AE is not what it used to be. -
Years ago I had a guide for WP/Stone Melee tankers. This is quite obsolete for Homecoming; it was built for the issues where you needed prerequisites for a travel power and could spec into pool power Stamina and wanted to do so on a Willpower character. You may find some ideas there. The build at least discusses available IO sets, with a focus on inexpensive ones for the days when the sets were prohibitively expensive and valuable bonuses in bargain sets were at a premium.

Julia Kalousarides sends greetings to Heraclea, our well beloved emissary to the city of Paragon. Penthesilea accompanies this note and this can serve as her formal introduction. She's quite eager for battle. However, you will find her consistently traditional in her approach, with no allegiance to the cult of the dead. I hope that she will be able to balance the influence of Katrina and Pomba-gira in these matters. Given in New Colchis for the 19th day of August.

Sonic defender would be my preference. Sonic barrier and haven play to your strengths. Disruption field is very nice. For playing with him, at least, you will be able to skip Sonic Repulsion, and powers you are free to skip mean more build freedom. An underrated set that works very nicely with resistance based characters.

If I had a vision for the game, it would be full of this stuff.

My Bio/Spines is my dps Tanker. Two damage auras and the endurance to run them. You have three modes you can run in, one of which boosts your damage output by 30% at the price of increasing incoming damage. Fire/Spines is very popular for Brutes and probably would work for Tankers as well.

When Trapdoor was broken and couldn't be kited away from his healers, I realized that the knives had been drawn for the melee classes.

Supergroup prestige. Mender Ramiel and Trapdoor.

And I just had one of those drop on a Citadel this evening.

I just go with the flow. Last night I was on a Penny Yin with three blueside masterminds, on a TF with heavily obstructed warehouses and ruined offices. And I was on a stalker, which runs great solo, and is an asset to teams running ghostable content, but works like a somewhat delicate scrapper in team content presenting neither of those situations.

Bio is a rather demanding primary, in that there aren't really any clinker powers in it that you will want to skip. Dual Blades is a rather demanding secondary: to get the most out of it you will want all of the attacks and as a tanker you will want Taunt. Some will tell you that Attack Vitals is the only combo you want. As a tanker, you will also want Sweep as soft control. And Empower: your Build Up power is a combo. And you don't have a choice about Nimble Slash. May as well catch 'em all. I would prefer pairing Dual Blades with an undemanding primary like Fire, which has at least a couple skippable powers, especially if your attack set is not Fire Melee, and a lot that can be postponed. You will want Tough, which requires a throwaway power selection, on either build. Fire is much looser than Bio, and there are exactly four powers in the set that contribute directly to your survivability.
