  1. I'm so sorry, Crane. Be well.
  2. Unless you're a sadist, like me, and you just enjoy torturing crybabies who don't like knockback. 😁
  3. Well, this is on my must-see list, now. 😁👍
  4. There's probably as many answers as there are players of those types of characters. With regard to vampires, dragons, angels, demons, and gods, specifically, I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the fact that these are common anime tropes and anime is hugely popular these days (you can toss cat-girls in here, with this lot). Regarding power level, some people are big fans of cosmic powered characters in comics (Thor, Silver Surfer, Phoenix, Guardian, etc.) and want to imagine playing a character of that type. Given that your PC essentially becomes unkillable (deathless badge) around lvl 50, according to the canon game lore- and practically unkillable because there is no perma-death mechanic in the game- there is really no distinction between RPing a god and RPing an Incarnate (or, perhaps even playing a character into their middle to high 40's). My personal peeve with the vamps, demons, and cat-girls is that there are so many of them (old hat) and they're rarely done in a way that brings something new to the concept- either visually or lore-wise. Having said that, each player has the right to play whatever sort of character they like, as long as it doesn't violate the player terms of agreement rules, so I try not to worry about it overmuch. If it really chaps your ass, I recommend finding a good RP group (The Black Hand, for example) that focuses on low to mid-tier or "C-list" heroes/villains just trying to get by and make a buck.
  5. A "Charge Attack" powerset would be a cool addition the game. Then you could emulate characters that fight like Cannonball, Rhino, Ram Man, etc. It would be nigh-impossible (IMO) to make a character that really felt like Cannonball with the current powersets, though. The various teleport based attacks have accompanying animations that are too weird or flashy and they are spread out among many different sets.
  6. Yeah, I get where you're coming from here. There are a few missions that send you to PC via the submarine and such (and, of course, we have Lord Schweitzer or whatever his name is) but some more story arcs for villains that take place in PC would be cool. Maybe something to drop in the suggestion thread for the Devs for some point down the road.
  7. Yep. A few different ones people use, depending on whether you prefer an actual keybind or a macro.
  8. Is that Scarlet Witch, casually tossing away Ultron's head, while covered in gore? 🤔
  9. I don't even notice the damage from energy transfer on my brute although, to be fair, I'm running Willpower- not SR. I don't think it'll be too much of an issue for you, if at all.
  10. Willpower is probably closest to the set, conceptually. Radiation offers some potent heal clicks and (if you go Rad/Rad) an attack that regenerates you if it hits. Both are great armor sets.
  11. @ThaOGDreamWeaver You should search Cracked NFT's on youtube. 😂
  12. The OP is just noticing that Sentinels tend to underperform compared to other pure combat AT's. They need a little bump in damage to bring then on par with the other classes and/or to have the AT special ability reworked to be more useful. As others have said, the Sentinel is meant to be a durable, medium-ranged attacker. With the possible exceptions of beam rifle and fire, it doesn't quite have the damage output to perform well at this (compared to the other combat-focused AT's, at least). JMO. There are certainly those who disagree.
  13. I think I remember watching that, as a kid. If it's the one I'm thinking of, the episode that really stuck in my brain is the one where the family goes into a supermarket and the shelves are just stocked with canned goods with plain black and white generic labels that said things like "Vegetables" and "Meat". A member of the family (the father? Son?) asks a nearby clerk who is stocking the shelves, "Hey- what kind of meat is that?" The clerk gives him a sort of annoyed/perplexed look and replies, "What do you mean what "kind" of meat? It's MEAT." Then returns to stocking the shelves. 😂
  14. Same trope, very different in execution. It's a wonderful show. I highly recommend it, and I couldn't give a rats patoot about sports, so that says something.
  15. I wonderful actor and a terrible human being. Having always admired the man for his portrayal of soft-spoken, wise and gentle, fatherly figures, I was horrified to learn that he regularly physically abused his girlfriends and spouses. I feel the same way about his death as I do the death of my own father (who also abused his wife): The world is now a slightly better place.
  16. Colin Robinson. Best vampire ever. 😂
  17. I sidestep the issue by shucking out influence, so it's not a problem for me. 🤷‍♂️
  18. If you just convert your merits to enhancement boosters and list those for 1 inspiration each (Yes, you read that correctly- I said "1") you will easily make enough influence to slot your character with lvl 25 basic IO's. A lot of people play with just basic lvl 25 enhancements until lvl 50, then they begin using accumulated inf. to buy sets. It's fairly cheap to outfit a character with lvl 25 IO's. At lvl 22, I can usually do this for a mere 2 or 3 million influence.
  19. I don't convert very often. When I do, the results vary. Sometimes I get my Panacea (or whatever) on the first try. Other times it may take me a dozen or more tries. No idea whether the process is truly random or not. I actually prefer just to buy the stuff I want, because converting and (even more so) crafting is boring.
  20. Hey, you don't have to bag on Robert Jordan, okay? The guys dead. He can't defend himself. 😛
  21. I read and enjoyed many of his posts. I'm very sorry to hear this. I wish his friends and family well and I'm sorry for your loss.
  22. The only VR thing I ever tried (besides those crappy VR arcade places) is the Oculus Rift we got our son for Christmas last year. It was okay, but not mind-blowingly cool or anything. Our son, himself, still prefers to play games on his laptop without the headset. I have no idea if the Rift is state of the art as far as this stuff goes. If so, then VR has a long way to go before it is engaging enough to interest me.
  23. I don't know if it qualifies as a bug or not, but I would also like to see this corrected. If I take a mission to steal the McGuffin, then I also have to murder everyone in the place after stealing the McGuffin, it no longer feels like a heist/theft to me.
  24. What is the concept, exactly? I'm a bit vague on what you're going for. "Otherworldly" could mean a lot of things. Sci-fi feel, magic feel, etc.
  25. But... then I won't be able to make fun of those pouting crybabies, anymore... 🤔
