Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition
Cancrusher replied to Maginary's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm neither for nor against your suggestion, but there is no equivalency here. -
Not that I care, personally. I'm guessing there are legal considerations they have to take so they don't get into a litigation situation, though.
-
Yeah, that Grant Creston armor rig is the shit. 😎👍

Haven't lost an alt, but I did lose my password and login and all associated characters. Yes, I might have reached out to the Homecoming Team, but felt too embarrassed about it and also didn't want to bother them with something that was due to my own, personal idiocy. 🤦♂️ Anyways, have been on my new account for some months now, and having to make new characters and explore some new builds actually managed to refresh my interest in the game. Go figure. 😁🤷♂️

Yeah, that costume is both sinister and cool! 😎👍 @Marshal_General Superman would be proud! 😂😂

tutorial An Overly Long Post Talking About Character Power Levels (TM)
Cancrusher replied to McSpazz's topic in Roleplaying
These are pretty good guidelines. I'm going to confess I've frequently been guilty of this one: Maybe not quite EVERYTHING, but I do frequently have characters that incorporate this metal into their gear. I always loved the exotic metals (Adamantium, Vibranium, Uru, etc.) in the Marvel Universe, and the characters that use them are some of my favorites, so I often create characters inspired by them. It may be that my affection for the trope gets the better of me, sometimes. I do think it's okay though, if you you're playing say- a normal human who fights with swords, or the like. Explaining how you can slice robots and invulnerable super beings with your katana is easier/more believable if it's made of an Uber-Metal. 🤷♂️ -
I ctrl-left click it to autofire. This works pretty well, although I'll admit that it does annoy me that the animation interrupts my attack chain. I would be happier if it didn't do that. Ah, well- first world problems. 😁🤷♂️

I would love to take credit for that idea, but I ripped the macros from another forum topic many moons ago and just copy-pasted them into a word document for future reference. I'll try to track down the post for proper accreditation, though. 😁👍 Combat Teleport truly is one of the most fun and useful movement powers in the game, though. To the OP, I strongly encourage you not to give up on it. Almost all of my characters take it now. I will find an excuse to work into nearly any concept. If I can justify it as a natural power I will, otherwise I fluff it as having taken a teleport device off of a defeated Malta Gunslinger. I ❤️ the power that much. Edit: Okay, I have it! Here's the link to the topic I got those Macro's from...

I use these and they work great for me. You might give them a shot if they aren't what you're currently using: To CT to your target: /macro Bamf! "powexec_location target Combat Teleport" To CT straight up from your target: /macro Up! "powexec_location up:max Combat Teleport" To CT away/straight back from your target: /macro Back! "powexec_location back:max Combat Teleport"

The way I look at it is this: The fact that Joss Whedon turned out to be a DB, doesn't invalidate the hard work, creativity, time and talent that the rest of the actors, writers, and other employees poured their collective hearts out into, for those shows and their fans. Because of this, I still love those shows, and I feel no remorse about that.

I grew up in the 80's, and my TV was late Saturday nights/early Sunday morning, when Channel 13 would run Black Belt Theatre (or it might have been called Kung-Fu theatre. My foggy old brain doesn't recall precisely any more)- various old kung-fu movies that my friends and I absolutely loved. Shaolin and Ninjas were all the rage back then. Every kid wanted to be a ninja. 😁

Well warp travel is reality now. But by accident.

I've also read a lot of history, and I've come to a different conclusion than you. I have an 18 year old, myself. He just started his first semester of college. I love him, of course. But is his continued (albeit, finite) existence worth the cost of the misery inflicted by humans, upon other humans, down through the centuries, just because I can't stand the thought of him dying (which will, of course, happen- whether I wish it to, or not)? What about the other people I love- or even my own existence? For me, the answer is no. Believe me, it gives me no joy to view existence in this way. The human race is stubborn and hardy, though. I imagine we will continue along our miserable path for many long centuries to come, regardless of my gloomy world view. -
Well, our jetpacks aren't so far-fetched now!

Well, with advances in gene manipulation and cybernetics, this certainly seems possible (maybe even plausible). Just a matter of civilization surviving and continuing to grow technologically from our current state. -

Well, the usual reasons: War, genocide, racism, ecological destruction, Imperialism, child sex trafficking, and all the other myriad forms of human greed and cruelty. Basically, the Humanists and the misanthropes are both looking at the balance sheet and comparing the above to : Love, art, technology, creativity, exploration, and the other positive aspects of human society. Humanists view the species as worth saving, for the latter reasons. Misanthropes feel the cost (both to ourselves, and to any potential species we may meet among the stars) is too high. -

Honestly, I'm torn on the idea of interstellar travel. The sci-fi geek in me yearns to look upon the surface of an alien world. 🤓 But the misanthrope in me shudders at the thought of unleashing the human species on the rest of the galaxy. 😱 -

I once thought to overcome the FTL barrier by training my mind and body until I could enter my astral form and hurl myself across time and space. Sadly, that hasn't panned out, so I'm thinking maybe I'll just take some mushrooms. -

Well, you do have a point there. Hopefully they'll have the risk assessment aspect ironed out before the populace at large can afford to own one. I'm guessing they're banking on self-driving vehicles to take care of that problem. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes. 🤷♂️ -
Yeah, I always forget that too. 🤷♂️

I've got to agree with this. I haven't really explored defenders in play, but I love it when a good Kinetics Defender is in a team I join. Those endurance buffs are awesome. 👍
-
Many players make mountains of cash from me, I have no doubt. As long as I can get what I need with as little fuss as possible, more power to 'em. 👍

Yeah, I noticed the council guys, too. Wait! What the heck are you guys doing here!? Funny. 😄
